Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

Good campus and wheather conditions like more rainy
Providing computer lab in hostels is good for learning languages like coding
The cultural fests and events like Ragam and Tathva.

The teaching level of faculty. There will be improvement is needed in faculty
The hostel provides average mess quality
Over all fee structure and hoste payment is very high comparing other nit's

Placement Experience:

Nitc students secured placements in companies like Reliance, Deloitte, Microsoft.and also core companies like BPC,murugappa visit Nit calicut.around 50% students from chemical usually get placed during campus placements.The highest package of chemical engineering 25-30 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 9.5-12 LPA.

Review of Nit Calicut.

Likes

The atmosphere around the college is good.
Better infrastructure and fests like tathva.
Different language students are there in the college.

Dislikes

Correction are tough and giving question paper is hard.
The hostels are beside the Highway roads. Traffic noise disturbs the students.

Placement Experience:

Has iam first year student I don't know much about placements. But in the year 2022 &2023 nit Calicut secured good placements .Has the placement report, Nit Calicut witnessed the highest package of Inr 47 lpa for ug programme. A total of 84.76 percent got placed in the placement session 2023. Nit Calicut placements 2023 saw the participation of 197 companies recruiting a total of 1144 students. Big tech companies like Google, microsoft, Amazon, Tata industries etc. participated.

Review of NIT Calicut

Likes

I liked the education system and schedule of the course.
I liked the bond between the students and faculty.
This institute refers a large range of sports and social activities.

Dislikes

I didn't liked about the hostels and hostel restrictions.
I didn't liked about the social life because there will be some ragging.
I didn't liked the environment because here it rains heavily and I easily attacked by cough and cold.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have a lot of interest in electronics and electrical circuits. Here the faculty is good highly qualified,1 faculty for 49 students. Most of the faculty are PhD and Mtech and they are teaching well. Term exam will be conducted for 4months It's not much difficult to pass the exams

The campus infrastructure is much good than I thought. It's extraordinary.
Food in the campus in very good and healthy

Placement Experience:

From 4th semester, students were eligible for internships and from 6th semester, eligible for campus placements.nearly 200 companies visited. Many offers were made. Highest package is 47lpa and average package is 14 lpa. nearly 92% students placed. I want to crack upsc exam.

From 4th semester students are eligible for internships and fully eligible for campus placements in 6th semester.many companies are visited this institute and made many offers in different branches.nearly 91% students are placed in different companies. My plans after getting degree is to crack UPSC exam and serve to my country

excellent campus ,really vast and enjoyable and has excellent places to enjoy with friends
infrastructure and facilities available are top notch the college is keen in developing new facilities
the course is a balanced one not too tough or easy and really irritating for the ones that doesnt have passion

Dislikes

There are vast amounts of sray dogs dogs roaming inside the campusnwhich is a real problem for students
some faculties may black mail you cause you are not their teddy bear,it often causes real problems
once you failed a subject you should repeat that with juniors which is really frustuating ,theyshould really allow to attend the exam again next year with juniors rather sitting in the class with them

nits offer excellent placement offers including tech giants like google and microsoft.placements are eligible for 3rdyear students.percentage of students that got placed is also very high .my plan after graduation is to start a startup and just be my own boss

Is worth joining Nit Calicut

Likes

Very good coding culture. Very experienced faculties.A big luch and green campus.
The infrastructure is decent.Some building are new and are up to the mark.
Sport facilities are very good.We have coach for every sport.

Dislikes

The thing is disliked the most is the kerla's season,it rains here throughout the year.

Placement Experience:

The placement record of NIT Calicut is very good. Students are eligible to sit for placement after the 6th semester. Several companies around 200 come to our campus including major tech giants like Google, Qualcomm, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Marvel, etc. The highest package for 2023 is around 50 LPA, last year the highest pac6was around 67 LPA. This year more than 1000+ students got placed. After getting a degree in CSE, I would like to join Google.

NIT Calicut home of Celebrations and Knowledge

Likes

Campus life is amazing, lush green with less pollution
Clubs are real good, with much more student involvement
People and food is as well really good, easily available

Dislikes

As the campus is 23 km away from main city, has lesser outside life.
Transportation options, are less and time bound

Placement Experience:

We have an amzing placement cell with opportunitires from training to placements in firms, like, JP Morgan, L&T, Exxon Mobil, etc. They start this from the pre-final year ends and run over a year. Package differs with each year, starting with 3-4 LPA and going to 60-80 LPA as well. More than 70 % get placed for sure, many go for master's and gov jobs as well. I graduated with a degree and a Gold Medal, placed at L&T.

Libraries, where you can get to know new books release.
Sports, clubs, committee formation etc.
Ambience of the campus, which is amazing.

Dislikes

Crow shit. If go on the campus roads you have o be feared whether crow shit is there on your clothes or not.
Umbrellas will always get stealed here.
Seveare rains. Because we get drenched in rain while goings to exams.

Placement Experience:

From 7th-semester students, placement opportunities will be available. for 5th, and 6th-semester students will get internship opportunities. I can't name each and every company because around 200 companies visit our campus. The highest package is 60 lpa. The average is 23 lpa. My plan after getting my degree is to get a job.

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
