Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

NIT Calicut- Vibrant Campus

Likes

Campus Life. Nit calicut provides a vibrant campus Life closely associated to nature and its beauty.
Faculties. Faculties are highly experienced and helps us to get a brighter future.
Native people. Native people are very kind and friendly and involves everyone irrespective of language caste or religion

Dislikes

Work load. Laboratory assignments and exams schedules are hectic.

Placement Experience:

College placements are really good here. In the course I am studying they provide internships at the 3rd year and placements are the 4th year. We are eligible for both the coding and core jobs along with management jobs etc. The major companies visiting are Oracle, BPCL, Exxon mobiles, Cognizant etc. In circuit branches like CSE, EC etc 100 percent placement rate is there whereas in Core branches the placement rate is 90 to 95 percent of the students applied . After the degree my plan is to get a placement through the campus placement system itself.

The campus atmosphere is pretty good. The campus life as well.
Campus amenities are accessible to every students
Faculties are highly qualified. You can have the best awardees among faculties

Dislikes

The ego between faculties exist there. Though most are highly qualified they lack that teacher's quality of effective conveyance
Some of the campus amenities inaccessible at some time and takes a good time to access due to distance

Placement Experience:

From third year itself students are eligible for placements. Good enough placements are there for circuit and core branches. The average package is 10 lpa. The companies visited are Oracle, mercedes, Reliance, BPCL, etc. Highest salary package is 65lpa. This also varies yearly and according to branches. 80% of the students get placed in campus.

The college provided good placement opportunities
The campus of the college is really beautiful

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am in the civil department. Even though the placement of civil is very low in this college,it is a big thing to study in an institution like the nit and the nitc is one of the top 5 nits in india which makes it more special

Nit Calicut college review

I mostly liked fest like Ragam a cultural fest and tathva a technical fest. First time in my life i saw concert of famous singers like jubin nautiyal ,shakti mohan etc
Most of the teachers are highly qualified, done their phd's from premium institutes like IITs also they have very high knowledge about their core subjects
Students here are highly passionate and talented. Mostlly discover new things in different clubs like music clubs, coding clubs, robotics club etc.

Dislikes

Imposition of several rules and protests in response
More focus on theory than practical knowledge
80 percent compulsory attendance in overall semester

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is average. As practical classes are there which have very good experiments but still most of time we sped on writing files for experiment which in my opinion is not good for overall learning of students.

A GOOD GLANCE OVER NITC

Likes

Infrastructure and hostel building facilities lab facilities
Cleanliness and sanitation is good proper bathrooms and hostel room servicing
Proper food for both veg and non veg with extra items with fresh cooked food

Dislikes

Can make ragging free campus too much restrictions on freshers
Protests and cancelling of fests can make better cultural activities
Language problem watchmans don't know outside languages

Placement Experience:

Even from 6th semester we can get jobs There are alot of companies visited few are Wipro,Microsoft,TCS etc Highest package offered is 36 lakh and average salary is 14 lpa Almost 95 percent people gets placed all over the world I want to get a job after completing my degree

In-depth Insights of NITC

Likes

Academic is very strict and in very focused, like there is 4 batch system in every branch, that ensure less strength in class so that student and faculty both can focus
Greenery ine the campus and the city gives you refreshing vibe

Dislikes

Coding cultural in our college is not too good as per it's reputation
Less opportunities and facilities in sports

Placement Experience:

Placement ar good. When I start with of Batch' 23 it was very good, but due to recession happening in the industries placements have fell down in terms of CTC and count both. Count is not too much effected but there is huhe impact on CTC.

Everything About NIT calicut

Likes

College has a lot of clubs for focusing on different sectors. There are mathematics club, robotics Interest club, Team unwired for automobiles and a lot more. These help students to develop things skills
One of the best things about my college is the professionalism of faculties and their experience. They are highly qualified and friendly to students.
College promotes sports and arts in addition to the academics which is highly appreciated

Dislikes

National Institute of Technology calicut lacks efficient bus service which makes the transportation across the campus difficult. And the bus is always too much crowded for students which makes them late to classes
Water shortage is a serious problem for National institute of Technology calicut. They have to cut down lecture time to tackle this problem. This makes students feel really uncomfortable . This is to be reviewed
National institute of Technology Calicut has heavy rain fall during monsoon which makes the day to day activities difficult and may cause severe flooding in surroundings. Humidity is also highly during these time

Placement Experience:

Students of eighth semester can appear in placements. Companies like google, BPCL, oracle,CAT hire students for good packages. Last year(2023) highest package was 47 lakhs and average was 10 lakhs. Around 80 percentage of the students get placed in placements. I wish to get a good placement from here

Students welfare at nitc has been a point of concern with many students feeling that their needs are not prioritised

Placement packages in NITC are lucrative with students become eligible for placement interviews by semester 7.Last year the highest package soared to approximately 80 Lakhs per annum and an average of 7-10 lakhs per annum and many renowned companies like Google, cisco, etc. participated in placement programmes. For my case I'm looking forward for higher education

I liked the campus atmosphere in here and the vibe
Curriculum is good starting from first year
The new curriculum gives an opportunity to dive straight into the course we opted

Dislikes

Teaching of some professors are so bad that we doubt if they have enough knowledge of the things they teach
No fest or any other programs have been conducted since last year , really disappointed.
No stable wifi in the hostel which makes things really hard to study from our room .not enough space for the hostellers to study from common room.

Placement Experience:

Placements are offered in nitc . More students get placed for Computer science and followed by electronic communication and EEE. But other course it's hard to get placed in the core subjects we study and mostly get placed to it field

Likes

Greenish atmosphere in NITC is very attractive
Hostel life in NITC gives new experiences
Food in NITC is quite good comparing other colleges

Internet service is very poor and irregular
Lack of arts and science programs in college
Infrastructure of labs and class need improvement

I selected B tech in electrical and electronic engineering. Our first sem inculdes some core subjects along with a lab, mathematics and graphics. In second sem we moved to study about digital systems, physics and mechanics. They conduct mid and end exams.

What is your review of the National Institute of Technology Calicut?

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
