Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

All to know about NIT calicut

Likes

I like the technical fest tathva. It is too good
Cultural fest ragam is superb in here. Really enjoyable
Sports in national institute of technology calicut is top notch

Dislikes

Less bus service through campus makes little difficult
Water shortage is a very concerning issue here
Academics are a bit tough here in nit Calicut

Curriculum is updated in 2023 and is latest covering all new technologies and concepts. It prepares students to solve real world problems. Teaching is with practical classes. Exams are conducted in every 2 months

Inside Nit Calicut: A Students Perspective

Likes

The wide variety of academic facilities like lab, library
The infrastructure of the college and the greenery
The amazing campus life and great friends

Dislikes

The events being conducted are decreasing
The hostel facilities are not good and need improvement
Range coverage is sometimes very bad and internet connectivity

Placement Experience:

Placements of my college are good. The placement season starts at the end of third year. Companies like tcs , microsoft , google come to recruit from our college with good packages. 1000+ offers were offered to students in 2023. The highest package was about 50 lack and average was about 13 lack in 2023. The percentage of studenys getting placed is 88%. My plans after getting degree is to secure a good placement with good package and gain some experience in the industry.

Architecture at NITC

Likes

The architecture department is very good,the building and the classrooms are nice.Facilitied for wheelchair access is also provided.Also the hostel food ,it is very good.
Studio is large and there are individual tables for each student
The faculties are friendly and have a less stressful atmosphere.

Dislikes

The department is very far from the hostels,even though buses are available it is quite hard because we might be carrying charts,models , instruments etc
There's no lift but it's okayy.The architecture department is different from other branches kinda like more isolated from the rest of the departments but there's a unity among the architecture students which has positive and negative aspects.
The course is 5 years and 10 sem each sem you will have jury.Very good course if you have great interest in design and stuff but if you are just doing a degree, it's not your cup of tea.There would be juries and stuff which would be overwhelming.

Placement Experience:

Since it is a national institute students are getting good placements in various companies . Especially of computer science electrical branches. They average package is like 7 to 9 lakh. For architecture students in the four pair we have internship and after the 5th year students make continue in the firm where they did their internship or mostly go abroad for further studies. A lot of students want to continue studying take a MArch or Mplan and get a PHD. But for some other students like me who are planning to stop studying by the degree itself mostly go for some good firms and then go abroad and after getting some experience would start their own firm. Architecture is a field where you can work on your own . Also the highest package offer is nearly 30 lakh in the college for computer science department.

the institute let you grow up with your ideas

local dominance of students which lacks oppurtunities to other state students
it will be a problem for other state students to adjust themselves with kerala food
proffesors shows partiality between other state students and kerala students while providing grades and marks

Placement Experience:

Placements here in nit calicut were fine enough.the averahge packages is around 12 lakhs.80 to 85 percent people are getting placements every year.the highest package here in nit calicut last year is 61 lakhs offered by google.

Nit calicut, the technical campus of international importance

Placement Experience:

Many students got job through campus placement process. Many companies visiting every year for recruiting students in various technical fields. Almost all students(90-100 ?) are placed during this process.

An entrepreneur's journey in NITC

Likes

The location of NIT Calicut. It is filled with green and under the lap of western ghats
The TBI cell which helped us for the building of our startup.
The RAGAM cultural fest where the footfall was around 10000 in all three days with lots of activities and events

Dislikes

The food was not good according to me, but there were many options.
The chemical department was far and newly build.
The hostels were 40 years old and w=overall crowded.

Placement Experience:

There were placement cell which used to help the students in internship and jobs. I graduated in 2021 so the number of companies were bit less in core departnment. The average salary for chemical branch was 7.8Lakhs

I like the fest here very much .RAGAM here is not just a fest it's an emotion here
I like the food provided in the mess. We can choose south Indian or North Indian food
I like the club here especially robotics and aerounwired

Academic pressure is very high here due to the cgpa thing

I like the environment and infrastructure of the campus. And it is full of greenary.
The faculty here was very friendly with the students which helps the students to clarify their doubts easily and score good marks
And the library in campus having different types of books and many computers which also helps all the students to do their works

Dislikes

In this year we are having many protests happens in the campus due that many students suffered a lot. Due to protest fests were also cancelled
Due to protests the college chairman declared two weeks of online classes before the end semeste which makes a big loss to the students
Our home town was so far and our taste of food was also different. So we are not liking the food here. To adjust for the food here. To adjust for the food here was so tough

Many companies visit our college during placements time and also offers jobs and internships to the students who are talented and capable to do the work. Major companies like reliance,Microsoft, tach Mahindra,etc...visit our college. We have an average package of 12LPA last year. From 6th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Students from mechanical engineering gets placed more.

What is your review of the National Institute of Technology Calicut?

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
