- Strong faculty: vssut is reputed for its experienced faculty members who are often experts in their respective fields.
- The college also organises fest which also is a good source of enjoyment and bliss.
- Campus employment opportunities are quite good.vssut provide internship opportunities along with good support from professors also.scholarship facilities are also provided for reserved castes and for general category also who are eligible.
Dislikes
- Hostel facilities are not so good and the food is also of low quality which is very difficult to eat.
- The hostel and mess. there is corruption in the mess. the mess secretaries are given money to stop students for complaining.
- The conditions of mess and hostel have been worse and it's been degrading day by day. this could have been better.

- Location is quite good. It's is completely a student area.
- It is near the hirakud station and mo bus is also there so travelling is not a issue.
Dislikes
- Hostels and mess food are not upto the mark.
- Some branches have toxic faculty environment.
Placement Experience:
Placement is moderate overally. Avg package for non core is arnd 5.5-6 lpa where as for core it is from 9-12lpa. 60days of mandatory internship is required to sit in the placements. College TnP cell coordinats all these activities and every student is informed through WhatsApp and mail if any new company approaches the college with all the details in there.

- There are so many clubs where you can make yourself engage yourself apart from studies
- Also sports with badminton and volleyball court
- There are so many events like branch fest and college fest
Dislikes
- The in time for girls is 6:30, which should me extended
- About 75% attendance which should be minimised
- And about close campus, which will reduce accident

On campus placement is good, Deloitte, ultratech, vedanta companies are coming to the college. Plus the companies are offering pretty good package and hiring students on the basis of their qualification

- Students can organise events and approach college with their personal ideas.
- Many technical clubs are there which will help to to explore technologies
- Other facilities like swimming pool and library is also available
Dislikes
- intime for boys is around 7 and intime for girls is around 6:30 , it need to be extended
- Lab has very old instruments it needs to updated with the current world
- Food in hostels are not upto the mark, like each hostel doesn't have same food
Placement Experience:
This college has excellent placements in both core and IT domain. Mainly in Mechanical engineering and Electrical engineering placements are too good . Many good private and government companies offer placements , not with any extraordinary packages but still it's good enough

Course Curriculum Overview:
I have choosen the course b.tech civil engineering which I was thinking from the childhood to be .in our college there are many labs and best faculty member which helps us the most . I think we have a concrete lab where students perform very less activity . They should give us the more time for the experiment .I think there is no difficulty level in course .if someone reads or study he/she should not face any difficulty .

The placement in our college is very good .big companies are comes to our campus for recruitment.
companies like delloite,infosys,iserveu,cognizent etc are visit for recruitment.
for mca the average package is around 5-7 lpa.
i dont want to go for higher studies.

- The college has a good campus with a green environment.
- All the technical and cultural and other events help students to involve in extra curricular activities.

- As it is very old institute, some of the hostels are very old and need to be repaired.
- The college is situated beside the Mahanadi river and the power channel, which causes frequent accidents.
- Some of the Class rooms are very small in size.
Placement Experience:
From seventh semester onwards the students become eligible for campus placements. This year as recession is going on less company visited the campus and the number of students hired was also less than previous years. Some of the big companies like Tata power, Maruti Suzuki, Deloitte and Cognizant and many startups also visited the campus. About 70% students got placed. I'm placed in an on-campus drive in Cognizant and also off campus in TCS.

- The location and the environment where the college campus is situated is quite good the location is perfect for a student point of view
- Its a scenic Place where the college is situated the almighty Hirakud dam which controls the flow of mahanadi is on the back of the campus exactly 4kms distance is there
- The faculty and the course fees are quite good for a middle class student
Dislikes
- Boys Hostel food need some Upgradation and the Semester Duration are too less for a exam scenario
- The campus is not totally Closed campus it's need to be closed campus
Placement Experience:
Placement according to the number of students is very good previous year placement record is 95% from EEE my branch it's 98% so placement is good almost 80-90 companies visited this year average package is around 4.5 to 6 lakhs and highest is around 16 lakhs i will try to get a job after completing my degree

- I like the college environment, atmosphere.
- I like the college surroundings like it's situated on banks of mahanadi and near Hirakud dam. It's jst peaceful.
- I like the timings of the college. U r not bound with timing, jst attend the lecture and go.
Dislikes
- I dislike the attendance system of this college as it's not online, any one can manipulate it.
- I dislike the that college doesn't support for placements for integrated Msc students.
Placement Experience:
Before last two semesters or when u r in final year u gets eligible for campus placements.
Placements are not so good for integrated Msc students but somehow good for btech students.
All multinational companies visits the campus with an avg package of 3 lpa to a highest package of 15 lpa.
Which includes tata, Infosys, Accenture, l&t etc.
You can study here and prepare for ur competitive exam for becoming an net qualifer and for becoming an teacher or lecturer.

- The campus is very good, and there are many clubs like technical and cultural in which we can learn many skills.
- The placement is very good in our college, the avg placement is 800000 per annum.
- The hostels are very hygienic and the food quality is very good.
Dislikes
- Some teachers are very strict in our college.
- U may face ragging in our college, also if u complaint about it the senior will have punishment
- Our hostel and college are not in a close campus
Placement Experience:
We can easily get a placement if you know some skills and avg cgpa like 7.3 like something. From 6th sem students eligible for campus placements. The highest package is 25 lacs per annum and avg is 800000 per annum. 90% of the students are easily placed in campus placements.

- I liked the infrastructure of the college and it is so education friendly The placement opportunities are also very good.
- The labs are well equipped with new to moderately old machines.
- Personally I liked that the classrooms have smart board and the teachers here so friendly.
Dislikes
- The only thing i dislike here is the short span of semesters like 3-4 months Max.
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for placement from third year onwards. The campus provides internships and PPO pre placement offer to students who are in the pre final year . Some companies visited the campus are Deloitte, iserveu, Cisco, marquee semiconductor, jsw, vedanta, birla, Larsen and toubro limited etc. the percentage of students getting placed is 90% above. The average package here is 6-7 lpa. The highest package previous year was 40 lpa which was offer from Amazon but the student applied for it off campus it wasn't on campus placement. My plans after getting a degree are higher studies.

Here is a detailed review of the Electrical Engineering Department of VSSUT Burla based on my friend experience who is an alumnus of the same
- VSSUT is among the top colleges in the state and Electrical Engineering is one of the best branches.
- The branch offers a tremendous learning scope with decent lab facilities.
- The branch has a decent number of permanent faculty.
- VSSUT placement scenario however is not that good although it’s better compared to other top colleges in the state.
- The M.Tech students are asked to supervise labs which isn’t a good practice because they are mostly fresh out of engineering colleges and lack expectations
Electrical Engineering from VSSUT is a good choice if you are interested in the field and are willing to invest extra effort in your studies.
