The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

I really liked the campus. It is big and has trees everywhere. You will really liked it if you like nature.
I like the college life here. The events conducted by Thapar are also good specially Saturnalia.
Also the teachers are fine. They are always eager to help you.

Dislikes

I do not like the fact that placements are declining every year.
Hostel accomodations are expensive. You also have to pay mess fee. Yet, the food is not good

Placement Experience:

Placements start by end of 3rd year. You can interview for companies but it is based on your CGPA. Only students with high CGPA get to interview for big companies. So make sure you maintain your CGPA. Also practice your skillsets. They are very essential for placements. About 70% students get placed every year and the average package is around 7 lpa. Though package can go as high as 40 lpa. It all depends on your hardwork, determination and preparation.

The campus is very beautiful, with greenery on every side. Skywalk is a unique part of the architecture, its an elevated area where students hang out. The infrastructure is all over great too, witb buildings constantly being renovated.
College life is pretty great, with activities held in freshman year to help students interact and events held year round to help students relax after a long day of classes.
Certain faculty is good, with teachers willing to help students out separately even and teaching with dedication and consistency.

Dislikes

The hostel in-time of 8:30 pm. It is very early and even though the campus is safe students are not allowed outside the hostel premises after 8:30. Its seems unnecessary to restrict students without any proper reason.
The food options within the campus are very limited and hostel mess food is also not good, its good only in certain hostels.

Placement Experience:

The placements are offered but they have dropped significantly since Covid. Their are still companies who visit but its mainly upto students to maintain their CGPA and work on their resumes. The cutoff for top companies is high and the college itself sets 9 CGPA cutoff for all students. Students are eligible for placements since 3rd year. Companies such as Goldman Sachs and Morgan and chase visit our college. Average packages is 7 to 8 lakh per annum. Around 60 to 70 percent students get placed.

Thapar University

Infrastructure is good. The benches and all the furniture is very well furnished

Dislikes

Students feel bit hectic as there would be both classes and labs happening simultaneously

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum sometimes makes you feel like you are a free bird there are sufficient amounts of holidays as well but sometimes it makes you feel like you are in prison as teachers themselves have to stick to the curriculum they put all the pressure on us at last

Great college.

Likes

I like the infrastructure of the university which is serene and beautiful
Fory branch, all the equipments are up to date and the teachers are approachable
The mess food is tasty and hygiene is up to the mark

Dislikes

Hostel in time is a bit strict as compared to many other universities

Placement Experience:

There were 77 recruiters fir the batch of 2023 with highest salary of 21 lpa and an average package of 7 lpa. Navy companies including S&P Global, American Express, Deloitte, EY, Nestle, Zomato, TCS came for the students.

Great infrastructure and hostels are all well maintained
Good gender ratio helps you get comfortable with every type of person

Dislikes

8:30 hostel intime you cannot roam even inside campus

Placement Experience:

Placements in thapar are pretty good, it has an average package of 10-12 lacs per annum. Companies like Apple, Jp morgan, salesforce visit here every year. Highest packages of 50-70 lacs are common here. Almost 80-90% students get placed.

In our campus I love ked the infrastructure and the environment of class room the most .all classes are updated according to the new technology as required for effective teaching. All classes are fully ac.
There are lot of placement and internship opportunities for the students those who are interested. Our campus has around 7.5 lakhs of average package. With all these opportunities there are lot of social societies of students interaction and fum
The most important aspect of our campus is our teachers they are so supportive and well updated to teach the students.

Dislikes

The first thing that I personally not like here is the time table for our classes the time table is very hactic. We were so busy all the day.
Secondly I didn't like the lab evaluation timing. Because lab evaluation are scheduled near the mst and est that students didn't get the sufficient time to study
There is another issue with the marks evaluation in mst and est. According to me there are some loopholes in marks evaluation schemes

Placement Experience:

After the 6 semester students are eligible for placements but after the 3semster onwards students can apply for internships. From 6semster onwards there are many companies like for electrical engineering students are Bajaj, maruti, Volvo, TVs,samsung,hero etc and many more. The average package for electrical students should be around 7.5 lakhs. And the highest package in our campus is 50lakhs around. As per the offical data provide by faculties there are around 80 percent students got placement out of 100. My plan is to get the placements in a good company with good package and if I didn't make it then I go for MBA

Thapar one of the best colleges

I like the infrastructure and with surety I can this this college has the been infrastructure in the country.
Hostel are pretty decent and comfortable places with almost all required necessities.

Dislikes

Mess food needs to be improved a lot. They dont serve non-veg items in mess
college is kind of empty they need to build infrsatructre on the already vacant parts of land
Sports need to improve significantly. They dont encourage them that much

Placement Experience:

Campus does offer placement assistance to students. Top companies like Google, Apple , Microsft , Amazon do visti our campus though they dont hire much students but they do give crazy packages. Highest was around 50L. Majority of students do get placed. My plans are to start a buisnesss of my own.

Thapar - the private college mafia

Likes

Good student community. Most of the students here are from an good educational background thus have a positive and growth related mindset.
The infrastructure is of top class thus this educational institution lies in the eyes of foreign companies as well.
Faculty is well experienced and are PHD holders from prestigious institutes like IIT, BITS etc.

Dislikes

High fess is an economic downside for most students as the scholarship offered is not for a huge number of students.
State quota is something which needs to be abolished as soon as possible to ensure quality intake of students.
The increase in number of students has lead to larger class sizes.

Placement Experience:

More than 200 comapnies visit Thapar Institute for placements. Prominient companies like TATA, Maruti Suzuki, Addverb, Reliance India Limited, Apple too visit the campus. Mechanical Department has a high percentage placement lately the highest amonsgt all other branches.

The infrastructure is amazing. Every facility provided in every way posssible.
The campus life is pretty awesome. New fests and events almost every week.
Faculty is very helpful and able to help us out when needed

Dislikes

High fees. Gives a lot of academic pressure .
Hostel in time of 8.30 PM is pretty annoying.
Bad management staff. A lot of pressing needed.

Placement Experience:

In campus placement ms of thapar were respectable before the drop of the market. But that is the same all over India. Companies like apple and amazon do visit the college and many companies start offering. Internships in the third year

Campus life all the classes are air conditioned
Every branch have there own department block.
Connected to city that helps us in quite different ways

Number of student intake for all branches is more.
Fees is quite high comparing to other colleges

Placement in Thapar institute of engineering and technology is good As per the seniors. Many companies like zomato google apple comes on campus for placements. Some students get placed after there internship.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
