The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

Thapar University review and analysis

Likes

I liked the competitive atmosphere here.
I liked the big and aesthetic campus life.
The different societies in tech and non tech fields that you can work with

Dislikes

Very early hostel in time which is 8.30 pm.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements can start from 3rd year if more than 35% students of the batch are ready to give the interview. The highest package was 60 lakhs per annum and average package here is 12 lakhs per annum.

Thapar University explored from inside and out.

Likes

Good hostel and facilities in them , apartment like rooms with quality furniture.
Good infrastructure and classes and class schedules
Relaxation on attendance in higher semesters for self growth.

Dislikes

Mess food could be better considering the amount of mess fees .
Lab classes should have more engaging sessions
Hostel timing and late entry should be more relaxed .

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from placements from 7th semster , almost all major companies including google , apple , arcesium , ibm , future first , delloite , amazon , flipkart etc come for placements totalling of around 2000+ offers , average package in cs branches only is 12 lpa and highest is 55lpa . Percent of students getting placement in this academic year is 60 percent .

I like the campus infrastructure. It has facilities for everything.
The placements are good. You can get a nice package if you prepare well.
The teachers are good and is very helpful and will assist you.

Dislikes

I dislike the course curriculum, it has many subjects which are of no use.
The fees of the college is very high. So some people cannot afford it.
The mess food can be improved and also the hostel night entry is 8pm. You have to be in hostel before 8pm.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements starts from the 7th semester.The companies include microsoft, arcesium, barclays, apple, google, jp morgan, futurefirst, cisco,and many more. The highest package is around 54lakhs and the average package is around 10lakhs.Precentage of the students placed on the campus is around 60-70%.My plan after getting the degree is getting a good job.

Likes

The campus itself is a beauty. The markets are good too.
Sports facilities too are very good with synthetic tracks.
The teachers are helpful too. They just help in projects.

Dislikes

The datesheets for exams are messed up and not good
The night entry time for hostels is 8:00pm which should be increased
The quality of mess food is also a thing that i dont like

Placement Experience:

The placements are just fine. Students are eligible for placements in 7th sem. Companies like Google, Amazon, microsoft etc visit the campus for recruitment. The highest package for CSE this year was around 42lacs and lowest is maybe around 6-7lacs For CSE. Due to recession, aout 40% students have been placed till now.I'd be doing a job after this degree if I get placed.

Thriving at TIET: My experience at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology

The curriculum focuses a buliding a strong foundation for engineering concepts while incorporating industry trends. TIET
The institute facilitates cultural exchange and fosters a sense of community through various events and initiatives. from freshers week activites to various clubs and societies, TIET offers opportunities to develop social interactions, friendships.
TIET attracts a significant number of top notch companies to its campus for internships and for placement season. interships allow students to gain practical work experience and enhance their employability.

Dislikes

The overall cost of attending TIET including hostel and mess facilities poses financial burden for some students.

Placement Experience:

As per the past records, around 70-80% students get placed each placement season. Almost 320 companies including the elading companies like Amazon, Google, Deloitte, Cognizant etc. visit for placements. Estimates suggest an average placement package of Rs 13 lakhs. Highest package was Rs 60 lakhs. And 6 studenst secured 1 Cr+ off campus placement offers. TIET facilitates internships in second and third year to gain industry experiencewhich boasts your chances of getting PPOs.

Facilities and Infrastructure with room facilities
Mess of my hostel (Hostel J) also the events here

Hostel and tuition fees with increased fees every year
Sessional and mst est are done in quick span of time
75% attendance is a very bad here in thapar

From 7th semester Microsoft, Google, Amazon, zomato, jp morgan, snapdragon, nvidia Highest Package of 90L abd average package of 14L Percentage is 100% for ece branch After degree, i will do job for some years and then do MBA

fantastic college but expensive

I liked the built quality of hostels and the food provided in it
I liked the placement record in comparison to other private colleges
I liked the environment like how people are positive while talking

I disliked the exam difficultly level of papers
I disliked the fees of courses and it also increases every year
I disliked the facilities provided in old hostels

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum is private and only thapar works according to it the curriculum prepares well,the subjects are quite informative and it prepares the student well for the placements the exams are quite difficult and frequency of exams is after every 20-25 days

Reviewing my experience at Thapar University as a BTech Biotechnology student.

Likes

The vast library, it is the largest library in Asia spanning over 5 Floors and a myriad of books.
The lively campus life. Love the events like Saturnalia and Thapar food festival.
The variety of sports offered and the number of societies in the college.

Dislikes

Compulsory 75% attendance. It is annoying to be always worrying about your attendance when there is just so much on campus to do
The fees. The fees is exorbitant, it's just way too much.

Placement Experience:

1.Eligibility: Final year students of all branches are eligible for campus placements. 2. Google (3), Microsoft (10), Amazon, Apple (1) Goldman Sachs (10) etc. 3. Highest package was around 44 LPA and the average package was around 8 LPA. 4. You have to have a CGPA of more than 6 to participate in placements for most companies 5. Apply for an MTECH programme in biotechnology.

Reality of thapar university after 4th year

Likes

Girls were really beautiful and there was no judgement
Campus is really very good if someone is new there he/she will be super comfortable very soon
Teachers of thapar are the best they are so kind

Dislikes

Fees was too much hight like 25 lakhs for degree
They treat security guards as there god like they are the rulers there like pakistan
There is no more things to dislike in thapar

Course Curriculum Overview:

The thapar university is 7/10 it has really good crowd and the course is really too much difficult as i am from diploma background so it was too much difficult for me but for +2 conductors it is a bit easy

Sports facility provided within the campus
Overall Campus Infrastructure and classrooms
Availability of daily need things in the shop located within campus

Dislikes

The student intake is a bit high and campus sometimes feels overcrowded
Classes can be anytime from morning 8 am to 6 pm in the evening

Placement Experience:

I am currently in first year so do not have enough information on placement. I do know that a lot of big companies do visit the campus for hiring. Average package of last year was around 12 lpa and average package of computer related branches was around 15 lpa. I also plan on taking college placement or maybe pursue higher education.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
