The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

I love thapar

Likes

The sports infrastructure, placement opportunities, course structure
The hostel life, mess food, people around me
The placements are very appealing to me

Dislikes

The lack of interest of the college in sports
Some of the blocks are not well renovated

The campus placements for the computer course are the best. And the college has 90 per cent placement. The packages offered are average 16 lpa and companies like JP Morgan, Microsoft, Google and Apple

Pros and cons of Thapar university

Likes

Sports favilities of thapar are topnotch. We can issue any equipment and play game of our choice from badminton to cricket or table tennis.
Thapar hostels have great infrastructure. They looks like a 5 star hotels from inside
Thapar has great spot Nirvana with a fountain which is a amazing place to spend time upon

Dislikes

Quality of food in mess is somentimes not so good
Sometimes E vehicles are not available in summers
Fees of thapar is a issue as it is quite a big amount to pay for a middle class families

Placement Experience:

From 6 semester studeng becomes eligible for campus placements . Companies such as blackrock, microsoft ,amazon, synopsys, texas instruments , american express etc come to pur college. The highest package this year was of 55 lakhs and average package went around 15 lakhs. Percentage of students getting placed was about 82 percent. My plans after getting degree is to do job and then start my entrepreneurship journey

how's the TIET college

Likes

i like to study in their nava nalanda library which is very spacious
i like to enjoy sports , they provide sports equipments on id cards
thapar's environment is very good , lot of greenery is present

Dislikes

hostel food sometimes is not good in taste
i have to walk about 1 km for lecture halls which makes me feel tired
i hate 75 attendance criteria , this is very bad thing

i choose computer branch because the scope of tech branch is very good in future . job will increase in this field. faculty members are average . 60:40 is the student ratio. 2 times in a semester exams are conducted which are termed as MST and EST

An honest review about thapar

Likes

Lenient behavior of teachers and seniors
Not much stress . We have enough time to do other things.
Hostel mess is good and rooms are good .

Dislikes

Too much student strength in the college.
You have to enter in the hostel in the night before 8.30 only

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is best. you dont need any kind additional tuition classes outside campus . Professors are top notch , they will make the of you and you just need attend the classes to ace the exams.

Well the internships are started from the second year onwards and the record is also very good, and regarding placements it is very nice because of very big alumni network, many companies come to campus every year.

In thapar students are getting campus placement from 3rd year and internship are started in 2nd year that's too good here companies visited such as Mercedes,Amazon, Maclaren, Zomato,etc.whuch are too good for us.

Thapar University Worth the Admission

Likes

Very good opportunities for students who need to learn Computers and want to skill in it even after being from non CS branch.
All societies and clubs are a chapter if any of the IITs club which help in CV building
Good Infrastructure, Places to hang out in campus.

Dislikes

Thapar Mess is like okayish but sodexo one is good.
Being on outskirts if patiala few thing are little bit far from campus like resturants, clubs, shops etc.
Punjab Quota is bit on higher side due to its location in PUNJAB.

Thapar: summed up

Likes

Campus and its facilities provided. Awesome.
Societies. They give a great exposure to work on your soft skills.
Faculties. They behave politely and are very well trained.

Dislikes

Morning classes. I prefer to work in the evening.
Fares that rickshaw drivers ask who are outside of the college.
In time is very early. I think it'd be more helpful if it were a bit late.

Placement Experience:

After 5th semester, we're eligible. JP Morgan, Accenture, Deloitte, De shaw, etc. Around 85% get placed. To have a stable life and have a good vacation twice a year. Focus on my personal and professional life simultaneously.

The peer group( i met some of the most amazing people here)
Lenient attendance ( the attendance policy is not very strict compared to other colleges)
The faculty ( the faculty is very good and supportive)

Dislikes

Attendance policy ( as the attendance is linent in kost subjects many students dont attend classes at all)
Hostel in time - the hostel in time is 8 30 which should be increased
Mess food - the mess food quality should be improved

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements in 4th year , almost all the good companies visit the college the highest package was somewhere around 54 lpa and the average package was near12 lpa . almost 80 % studenst got placed . the placements is quite decent but as the batch size is big so the competiion is very high

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
