The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

My Honest Review about Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Likes

I really liked the campus, its infrastructure and even the teachers .

Dislikes

The fees is too high. I think it could have been less but except that I think overall the college is very good and you can take admission here.

Placement Experience:

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology provides on campus placement opportunities as well as internship opportunities from the fourth year and third year respectively. The main companies include Accenture, Amazon, Flipkart, JP Morgan and many more. If you do not want to opt for placement then you can go for higher studies as well like mtech or any other. My plan is basically to take placement and get settled. But every person has their own choice and can go for mba, mtech or any government examinations.Tge average package is around 10 lakhs and there are many students who receive package above 15 lakhs and 20 lakhs. You can even start your internship before 3rd year but college does not play role in this.

infrastructure is great here .campus size is 250+ acres with a beautiful ammendities including parks,cos complex,library and various deparments for subjects
various subjects are avaialble here. it is very old college with good subjects
many societies are available here including iste,gdsc,ccs etc.which hepls in student overall development

Dislikes

punjab quota is quite high here which decrease the cutoff for some students
75 percent attendence is compulsory here else students can be deatined
number of students intake is increasing year by year here which is decreasing the crowd quality

Placement Experience:

the college placements are quite good if we compare to the scenerio of private college .its placements are better than many NITS, the average package stood last year was 12 lpa and higest was arount=d 60 lpa.almost every student aspiring for job gets placed gere .internship starts from 5th semester here and many reputable company visit here

Campus life as a whole comprising events, library, etc.
Helpful faculty. Some really put the effort to make the subject fun and interesting

Strict attendance policy (everyone hates it )

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is balanced with enough time to upskill oneself in things like coding, hackathons etc and enjoy events and fests. It sure gets hectic when exams are near with assignment submissions and projects. Exams are conducted twice a semester - mid semester exams and end semester exams (along with quizzes and lab practicals).

Likes

Thing alI liked is the faculty it's so good and supportive if you want to learn you can learn many things.
The campus is very good nd beautiful. People arey generally not rude.
The seniors are helpful . Till now no ragging is observed .

Dislikes

The intake of studnets is very high . They have increased it by 20 percentage as compared to last year
The room cleaning services are not good . The state quota provided should be less.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good if a child has capacity. Internishisp are provided depending upon your branch . It is 6 th sem fro coe studnets while it it 8 yh sem for electrical studnets . It varies according to your branch. After getting a degree I am deciding to peruse for higher studies as I want to learn more in subjects.

Students at thapar are very intelligent and full of knowledge.
Placements are good at thapar University.

There is nothing as of now as per my perspective

Placement Experience:

Placements of thapar are really good.. From 3 Rd year students becomes eligible for campus placements and also interships opportunities from 2 nd or 1 St year based upon your skills.your 95 percentage of students get placed at thapar. Rest 5 percent are those who donot opt for placements.

The society and clubs are good here they host good events

Dislikes

Hostels a little conjusted and the in time is early it must be late
The fees is high the affordability rate is low
The exams are conducted too regularly which is hectic

Thapar University

Likes

Campus life is really good in Thapar. We have lots of food outlets in the campus itself.
One of the best hostels in India. Thapar has a brilliant infrastructure.
Annual fest and clubs. We have many societies and clubs which are necessary for student's development.

Dislikes

Thapar's student intake is increasing day by day.
Night curfew timing is 8:30 pm in campus. It should be increased.
It is an expensive college. Fee is on the higher end.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Computer Science and Business Systems. As the name suggests, this course is run by TCS all over India. The syllabus is designed by TCS itself. The best part about the curriculum is that prepares the student for FINTECH companies. We study all the important subjects that are instrumental in providing a strong base for top-notch placements and companies. We generally have one mid-semester exam followed by an end-semester exam. We have quizzes and lab evaluations too.

Thapar University - one of the best private engineering College in India

Likes

Infrastructure of thapar University is top notch and probably best in the countery
Campus Life is very exciting with many events taking place every other week
Gender ratio is also pretty decent and better than many colleges in the country.

Dislikes

Tuition fees is very expensive and takes on our pockets
Curriculum is outdated and need to be revised for the betterment of students

Placement Experience:

Campus placement in thapar is one of the best in private engineering college in India. Over 200 companies visited campus last year and over 1700 offers were made . Highest package offered was 63 lakhs with 10 lakhs being the average package. Over 90%of students sitting for placement got placed. I would also like to sit for placement after my graduation.

My experience at thapar University.

The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes Fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.
The faculty is the other thing, they are quite good they explain and teach well, and provide proper lecture notes and everything
Societies, tons of great societies teaching about almost everything with no fee, workshops learning skills everything

Dislikes

Hostel intime, campus intime is just too soon like 8 pm
You have to work hard here for everything.

Placement Experience:

If you wanna get placed you should have knowledge, that means study hard that's all you need through out these four years. Placements are good as I told earlier but sometimes if you don't get interview you can always apply for off campus placement since it's it's a good college. Highest -50 LPA, Average -11-12LPA, LOWEST - 5-6LPA. This year it was 60-70% placed from computer branches but 100% placed from mechanical and civil. My plans are to first study well do some projects and honestly I just want to go with the flow just working hard for my future

Good and bad side of Thapar University

Likes

Campus life, so many society and clubs allowing students to explore their interests,
Healthy interaction with the faculty , proper labs with proper instruments,
Good sports opportunity for students with professional coaches to guide them

Dislikes

Increasing their intake of students each year degrading a bit student quality
As i said for the timing same hgoes for the security staff are kind of mean to students but only in the stating phase
Hostel and campus end timing, you have to inside campus by 8pm otherwise your patents will receive a message for coming late

Placement Experience:

Thapar has a very good brand value and a great alumni connection from allover the world, giving an idea about its placement. College for sure gives campus placement and also offer many intership programes. For the year 22-23 the highest package was 55 lacs with a average of 12-13 lacs . I would also appreciate thapar for not showing their off campus package as highest which was double the on-campus offer

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
