The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

My College Experience

Likes

The campus offers variety of sports opportunities which I personally liked for example a huge football field, badminton field, cricket field etc.
It also offers many places to eat different kinds of food.
It also has easy transport from one part of the campus to another.

Placement Experience:

My college has a placement unit where the Seniors undergo PI and GD and discuss their potential job opportunities. Students from 3rd year onwards are eligible for placements. Some companies like google, apple, amazon have recruited students from my college. About 60% students get placements from the placement cell itself. I would aspire to work for a big company and get a good package too.

All About Thapar

Likes

Campus Environment is really good. There is a gurudwara, temple, lake, open air theatre inside campus.
Hostel and classrooms are really well maintained and there is also a medical assistance provided within our college.
Teachers are really helpful and helps in completing projects.

Dislikes

Hostel timings are there. Every student need to reach hostel till 8.30 - 9 pm.
Many assignments are told to be done. Like no free time given.
Minimum CGPA criteria for internships and placements.

Placement Experience:

Placements is good as compared to other private colleges. Mnay big companies like JPMC, accenture, American Express comes for summer intenship, 6 month internship and placements. Approximately all students are placed. Dream companies like apple and google also visits our campus. Student become elligible for placements from 6 semester. Highest package: 63 lpa (linkedin) and average package: 10-12 lpa. Percentage of student getting placed is: 83% approx.

Placement Experience:

You can apply for internships from 4th semester which give summer internships at the end of the 6th sem and whether you will get PPO or not depends on the criteria set by that particular company. Companies start coming at the end of 6th sem for permanent campus placements. More than 250 companies visit campus for placements like Microsoft, LinkedIn, Apple, JP Morgan, etc offering packages as high as 70 lacs Average package offered is 12 lacs and the previous year highest package offered was 70 lacs by LinkedIn 100% students particularly in CS get placed on campus. My plans after the completion of my course is to work as a web developer at a well recognised company and then after 2 yrs of experience i am gonna apply for MBA in USA.

Good vibes and great study environment for students .

Dislikes

incraesing number of students yearly and crowding campus.
and too much construction work in past years .

Students can apply for in campus offers starting from 4 semesters. VArious companies like google ,apple ,jpmc ,optum etc have visited and made several offers. highest package was of 40 lakhs by electrical branch. around 80 % have been placed rest opt for higher education. To go for higher studies.

Campus is really good it's clean and aesthetic
Hostels are really good rooms are big, clean and washrooms are also clean
Lecture rooms and labs are really good and well maintained

Dislikes

One thing i don't like is you can't go out in campus after intime of hostels that is 8:30 pm
Also there's intime of main gate you get late entry is you enter after 8pm
Schedule during normal days and exams is very hectic

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester (3rd year) companies start coming for summer internships. Companies like jp morgan, BNY , Accenture and a lot of more good tech companies come to college with various offers. Highest package last year was 70 lakh given by Linkedin and average package is around 8-12 lakhs. A A lot every student gets placed im also thinking to get placed after my degree

Thapar - An experience

Likes

Friends, architecture, campus beauty and courses
The campus is huge with lush greenery and talk beautiful looking building and state of the art classrooms
There is a state of the art library which has 3 floors

Dislikes

The management as it is very strict and sometimes unreasonable
The amount of fees we are required to pay
Some teachers who think they are above the world

Course Curriculum Overview:

Its a very interactive course with many learning objectives and practicals that help build a students subject knowledge and led by some of the finest teachers there in India all highly accomplished doctorates.

Campus envrionement is really good. Green campus, beautiful buildings and grounds for almost every sport
Infrastructure of classrooms as well as labs
Campus is very happening at one point of time somr or the other event is happening

Dislikes

Hostels as well as campus intime which should not be there.
Curriculum is more theoretical than practical.
More focus on cgpa rather than developing skills

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent on-campus. Many renowned comapanies also visit our campus and provide lucrative packages. Almost 80% of students do get placed ( not sure about scenario in recession). But college really to make sure to get as many students placed as possible. Various famous comapies like Apple, De shaw etc come for recuitments. Average package offered is around 10,00,000 lpa.

The curriculum has relevant content and the teaching material is shared online which makes the process efficient , also regular evaluations take place to help students better grasp the fundamentals. The courses are supplemented with labs and adequate practical exposure is given.

High Academic fees which is above average than other colleges

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is quite good and is above average than most of the other engineering colleges. Average package is around 15,00,000 per annum and highest package goes up to 45,00,000 per annum. Companies like google and amazon also comes to offer placement.

Why you should join THAPAR UNIVERSITY

Likes

Campus life is vey good here at thapar and lively and vibrant
Facilities porvided, library is huge and has all the books one can think of
Hostel life, love it here, hostels are in great condinton

Dislikes

There needs to be some kind of rule for attendance
More enthusiatic teachers are needed, some of them just don't want to teach

Placement Experience:

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good. The students are suffering, and everyone is worried due to the impact of AI in the tech industry. The overall average package that I observed was around 800000.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
