Dislikes

Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

Every facility is available within the campus.
Library here is one of the best in India
Sports facilities are slightly better compared to other iits.

Dislikes

The weather here is slightly irritating.
It starts raining anytime. And then there's mud everywhere.

Placement Experience:

There are a plenty of campus placements here. All the firms visit the college. Some students also get pre placement offers in their 3rd year and most of the other students get placed in their 4th year.

Iit Madras placements

Likes

Freedom, quality of education,and character development.
Communication skills, social networking.

Dislikes

Not more but the only thing i didn't like here is hot climate.
As it is nature we can't do anything to it.
But they can do air conditioning in classrooms atleast.

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester (3rd year) students here can apply for internships and placements. Many big companies like Google, Microsoft, Uber, Facebook others. Almost all here will get into placements unless they want to research and stuff. I am planning to do a job for 3yrs gain some experience and teammates and start a startup in the automobile industry.

Good environment, nice hostel facilities.
Freedom, library which provides required books to study.
Placement are good due many companies will come.

Dislikes

I think faculty are not up to the mark and college infrastructure.
Mess food is not up to the mark because of i from different state.
I think cost of affordability is to high in this campus.

After sith semester, students can be eligible for campus placements. There will be many companies including international companies like Google, Infosys, Microsoft, etc. The highest package is around 20000000, average package is around 1500000. Getting good placement from college.

I like the teaching of the professor's .
environment is good in iit Madras so many animals are there here
infrastructure is very good big buildings and facilities

Dislikes

signal is not there in hostel rooms .
nothing is there to dislike ,every thing is good
nothing is there to dislike, every thing is good

Placement Experience:

1 . From 8th sem you will get placement. 2 . I have no idea about companies. 3 . High is 1cr per annum and lowest is 5 lpa. 4 . 90 percentage students get placed 5 . I have intest in business like trading.

Likes

Campus is very peaceful with no vehicle sound
Wildlife here is delightful to witness regularly
College offers many opportunities which is really helpful.

Dislikes

Some minor inconvenience caused in middle
Relative grading which compares students

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's pretty decent and nice . We get lot of opportunities to explore ourself and only thing which sucks is relative grading. Exams were on decent levels. And we have 2 quizzes and one end sem exam where major grade of us depends on end sem and the minor portion gets distributed among labs and quiz

Beauty of IIT MADRAS

Likes

Campus is really huge and beautiful it is close to nature
I loved the faculty members they are really good and humble
Sports facilities,importance given to startups and innovation

Dislikes

Actually I liked everything except one thing,the distance between class and hostel is 1 km 🥲😂
In Chennai it is very hot due to which I am getting so much sweat(humid)
Touch sports like kabaddi Koko are not allowed in the campus

Placement Experience:

Really good placement,1st sem,google Amazon Facebook etc,60%,highest package in my clg is 2 crore and least is 6lakh, remaining 40% people tend to go towards startup,I have not yet decided about my future I would think about a startup

Life in iit

Likes

I like campus most and studies also very good but exams are very tough and must study very hard to get good score.
There is no discrimination between girls and boys we can live comfortable with anyone.

Dislikes

Attendance takes very strictly if we give valid reason
So professors are too dangerous and we have to stay away from them

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course I IIT Madras is Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, but in IIT Madras is not only good for studies they will give us a lot of chances to prove ourselves. Here we have a research park for research interested students and the CFI club is a great one in this institute.

The freedom which the campus gives you to express yourself.
The campus life was quite good.And the faculty were also good.The Teaching assistants are good.
The placements are also good,like many MNCs will come and select a good number of students.

Dislikes

Infrastructure was not That good with respect to other IIT'S and Department Building's were also Old.
Hostels are Bad except the MANDAKINI HOSTEL (First Year) .The other Hostels were very bad Doesn't Have a good facilities like washing machine and drinking water.
Their are only limited amount of sport fields for some sports like cricket and tennis. And we can't play for fun like there is no other Proper sports facilities rather than the main ones

I chose this course because Iam enthusiastic about how Ships Work and how travel happens across Such Huge Oceans. And to Study about The Oceans. The faculty Student Ratio Was Around 19:1. The Faculty were Highly Educated Intellectual People. Mostly they are from Tamil Nadu. Many of the faculty studied in Various IITs.

Bad time with good ones

I like campus seniors , faculty and environment and restaurant and there protection iam officers duties

Dislikes

Our TA not all but some and coming to the security they do there work perfect but in some situations they don't think they

Many companies will visit our campus and they give us affordable offers the average package is 23 lakhs and the highest package is 80 lakhs and the percentage of students getting placement is around 90 per cent and my coming to my plans I have a lot

LIFE AT INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MADRAS.

Likes

Good Infrastructure for any of the s[orts facilities or classrooms.
Socialising of the people of the campus with each and every one.
FESTs and many others stress busters for student.

Dislikes

I disliked the climate in chennai as if you come from telangana it takes time to adjust.

Placement Experience:

In 7th(or)8th Semester students are eligible for placements. There are many companies around 200+ companies have came last year. The highest package is 3 crore and the average depends on the branch you choose. 80% of them will get placements. I am planning to keep a startup.

The online Data Science program at IIT Madras is a great opportunity for someone who can not attend regular college because of financial constraints, illness, or other reasons. The online BS in Data Science and Application allows students to gain knowledge of this field from one of the most reputed engineering colleges in India.

The online lectures are taught by experienced faculty members from IITM. What I found most interesting was the professors' distinct approach to teaching. The students are routinely assisted by committed and supportive staff.

IIT Madras has undertaken a unique approach to imparting their expertise in the highly demanded field of Data Science.

What are your thoughts on IIT Madras offering a bachelor's degree/diploma online?

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.

The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.

Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.
