Course Curriculum Overview:
The course is a 2-year course and I a Masters/Postgraduate course. I am doing it in Mechanical Engineering as i did BTech in the same field
the students and teachers ratio is of 50 to 1 here in the college
The teachers are well qualified (all of them are Professors) with decades of teaching experience
The exams are conducted semester wise and are conducting a total of 4 times in the whole course

Placement Experience:
From 7th semester company's start visiting the campus for hiring students. Around 350-400 campanies visits the campus. Highest package this year is 2 CR. And lowest is around 15 Lakhs. Overall the placement is good .

From the 7th semester, the placement process is started, approx 1500 offers are made by big MNCs. The highest offer made is 2 Cr. The average package is around 20 Lakhs. All the students get placed in this college.

From seventh semester companies start visiting the campus. All the big MNCs are hiring from our campus for SDE ,Data analyst ,etc. The overall placement is 100% . The highest package is 2Cr. And average package is 20 Lakhs.

Course Curriculum Overview:
I always loved Chemistry, Firstly I thought of doing B.Sc. in Chemistry, but Scope is better in B.tech that is why I chose this course.
The faculty and student ratio in the college is 40-45 Students on 1 Teacher.
The teachers are themselves Ex-IITians and have Decades of Experience.
The exams are conducted twice a year.

Our college's placement programme was fantastic, and I was really pleased with where I landed my first job. Some of the organisations that came for the hiring process included Google, TATA, Godrej, and Punjab National Bank. By earning the maximum package of 25 LPA, our batch set a new record. Because the placement facility is among the greatest, I strongly advise every student to attend this college.

From their penultimate year onwards, we were eligible for compassing placement activities (i.e. 3rd year in b.teceh degree). Many companies had visited our campus, including L&T, Tata Power, Tech Mahindra, Byjus, and Pinnacle. Tech Mahindra's highest package is roughly 7 lacs per annum, which is currently the most for a Btech degree. Every year, about 80% of students choose positions, while others want to continue their education. After completing the degree, my ambition is to secure a job with a reputable organisation such as Tata Power or L&T through the placement.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The course is divided into 4 years and in 8 semesters.
I chose this course as always had a dream of teaching in IIT being a professor in IIT so I did BTECH followed by Mtech and now pursuing a Ph.D. In IIT KNP.
The teachers were really brilliant and are almost all of them are Ph.D. holders from various IITs.
Exams are held semester-wise and at the end of each sem.

Placement Experience:
I completed My bachelor's as well as masters from the same college,
I remember I got a package of 24 LPA when I sat for campus placement after BTech but I continued to do master's instead of getting a job two years later when I completed my MTech, WIPRO offered my 50 LPA as a Junior Executive in Bangalore branch, but I still discarded that and decided to do PhD in the same subject, this is my last year and I am hoping it will be completed by this year, then I will apply to be a lecturer at any IIT then only my childhood dream of being a teacher will come true.

What is your review of the earth sciences department at IIT Kanpur?

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
