Already known that placement in a top IIT is very easy as compared to other NITs or Private colleges. Most of the placement offers are On-Campus . So percentage of Students getting placed is around 90-95 %
Left overs include students opting for further studies, or civil services or research oriented.
All big tech giants offers job in placement season like Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Google and almost all companies are open for all branch students (except a few wanting a particular niche)
Popular startups also offers jobs during placement season.

I chooses IIT Kanpur for its name and its almuni base.It has a great campus life. Teachers are wonderful and studies are all about the practical aspects of the subject. I gave CAT and scored 93.90% and applied for the college and got selected. There was no interview as these were during the Covid times.

my jee advance rank, distance from home, one factor is IIT Kanpur is good in research. IIT Kanpur is a bit different from most other IITs in terms of academics. Our grading system goes 10, 8, 6, 4, 2. In most other IITs it is something like 10, 9, 8, 7 That automatically means that if the professor doesn't think you deserve A, you get 8 in IITK and 9 in most other IITs. This worsens as the grade drops to C or D.

Remarks:
It's one of the best institute in the country and the Aerospace Engineering department is more than 50 years old. A very simple admission process with fees payment and document verification. Hassle free hostel allocation and other formalities like mail registration etc.

Placement Experience:
The students who have secured the minimum credits required for graduation can apply for campus placements. Many companies, including the big ones like Google, Microsoft, GS, etc. make offers in the college. The highest international package goes around 1.5 crores, whereas the average package is around 12 lacs. The percentage of students getting placement is over 99. My plan after getting the degree is to secure a good job through campus placement.

Good - Strong Academics and ResearchBad - Materials Science dept only focuses on Metals but not much on other materials like ceramics and polymers.Admission process - Based on GATE rank Admission date - By end of May, the seat booking fee is to be deposited.

Research exposure at IITK is top notch and it gave me a chance to try out different things, from my parent department - Aerospace to doing projects in Computer Science as well. The environment at IITK makes you never stop learning things and explore your passions.

Remarks:
After my graduation, I wanted to do an MBA I had chosen this college because it has one the great faculty and infrastructure. Admission was based on the CAT score of every candidate. I scored 93 percentile in CAT and got admitted to this college. This college also provides the best placements in this field.

IIT Kanpur is one of the best institutes in India which is known for its best Academics curriculum. I had known about this College from the Internet and all of my friends. The admission process was online and you must have to clear JEE advanced exam. The admission was based on the merit list by counseling. This is the very reputed and best college for BTech.

What is your review of the earth sciences department at IIT Kanpur?

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
