Placement Experience:
Placements are good enough for an average student in campus.Eligible after 3rd second semester and before that the candidate need to be done some or the other internships for quick recognition in placements.
MICROSOFT,RELIANCE,TATA PROJECTS,ICICI BANKS,NPCL,INTEL,QUALCOMM and so on., as per this year we got 986 offers including 22 international offers.
Highest package is 1.90 cr per annum and average is 26.7lakhs per annum and companies offered MICROSOFT,TEXAS,NAVI and QUALCOMM.
90 percentage of students getting placements.
plans after degree is having startup plans for further.

- College environment is very wonderful and great green environmental college, fresh oxygen and peaceful environment.
- More and more opportunities for learning new in academics and also in sports.By that we can be good in both academics and sports
- Only less restrictions and more security for girls and boys . Full freedom for roaming in the college with no time restriction.Forming good bonding with seniors and juniors.wonderfull faculties.
Dislikes
- The academics is very tough in this IIT and very tough competition and tough grading in academics.and very strict paper correction.
- Making the CPI CRITERIA FOR everything like we have to minimum CPI to participate in that particular thing .
- Only above those 2 reasons that I don't like , remaining everything is good in my college
Placement Experience:
The placements of our college is very impressive.From 3rd year onwards students are eligible campus placement.The Students having CPI 7 ARE eligible for campus placements , they wil not see only academics,they will also see in which they have participated,what are they capable in college programs in achieving, does he have leadership qualities or not , these many things they observe while doing campus placements . There are many companies visited to our campus, i will mention some of them like Google, Amazon, Zomato, Microsoft, TCS , ETC... In each branch nearly 150 to 200 offers are made .In my college the last year highest package is 8.9 crores and the average pakage is above 35 lakhs .The percentage of students getting campus placements is 89percentage .And my plan is getting the job in campus placements

Placement Experience:
In our college, students typically become elgible for campus placements from the 4rd semester onwards. While campus placements are no offered, the institution provides extensive support and resources to enhance students employability skills. This includes career counseling, resume workshops, and networking opportunities with industry professionals. Many students secure internships and job placements through off campus drives, networkind events, and online job portals.

- It is some old so one can say it gives old bulilding vives
- Courses are tough in mechanical branch so it is tough for student

- Placement is quite low it can be increased . ITS average is good.
- campus life is sometimes chill and somtimes you got acadmic presssure .
- Infrastructure is very good and faculty members are supportive.
Dislikes
- College is in mid of various tree feel like jungle sometimes. Once a leopard comes in the campus which is very interesting tale.
- Infrastructure is very old and calassy looking.
- faculty members somtimes not give time as much needed.
Placement Experience:
The place in our college is average. When you reach your 7th sem or 4th year you are eligible for placements. There are lots of companies such as Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, flipchart, zomato, swiggy, etc. The highest average package is 22 lakh. There will be more than 50% placements. I will get placement after my degree.

- I just love my campus life . There are many fests which makes it very enjoyable.
- Infrastructure is very nice . Campus area is very large . Mostly all the facilities are available here
- Faculty is also very supporting . Like if you have any issue then you can directly contact your faculty members in their office or through mails.
Dislikes
- Academic is little tough. I don't like the Very Competitive environment.
- Their is nothing to dislike in infrastructure
- Faculties grading is very tough which can decrease anyone's CPI.
Placement Experience:
In 4th year, 3rd semester students become eligible for placements. There is a body named SPO (student Placement Cell) responsible for internship and placements. Placement seson starts from first week of December. Their are two phaases of placemnet season .Big Companies like Bain, Niva Bupa,Orchid , Glean etc comes in the campus. 300 plus companies comes in the campus for placement. Average package of 1st phase is approx 26LPA. In 2023-24 , highest internationl offer is of 4 crore per year. Highest domestic package is approx 2 crore per year. For me, I am preparing fofr Data Scientist profile.

Course Curriculum Overview:
My course is of electrical engineering which can be fun if this is your field of interest and can be dangerous otherwise. So choose your branch accordingly. Electrical department is too hectic numerous numbers of exam

- Campus life was very good. You can enjoy a lot. Apart from the enjoyment academics includes a lot of unknown knowledge. There are many cultursl activites not to get pressure from academics
- Faculty are very friendly. They teach us in a very good way in which we can learn easily.
- Placements has very good percentage nearly 75.many good companies comes as recruitors. We will have many resources to learn and get ready for the placements. Infrastructure is very different and good. Every course includes many different subjects.
Dislikes
- I disliked was about dogs roaming around. Meals are good but as im south indian i cant eat it.
- About the food here the north indians doesnt eat spicy foods. We are habituated to that some foods have spice but not all. It takes more time to adjust for food.
- Exams were more tough to write as we are habituated to objective we couldnt get into theory so fast.
Placement Experience:
We will have our placements in the 7th semester. There are lot of oppurtunities to get a job. Microsoft, amazon, uber and many more companies offer jobs. To sit in the placements we have to get above 6cgpa.This year 989 placements were made. Our highest package for 2024 is 1.9crore is from economics department.there are total 33 packages above 1 crore. Top recruiters are rakuten mobile,American Express, intel etc. . Average package was nearly 262700.75% placements has taken place. if we are not into any company by placements then we can apply by our own or if you are interested we can write gate and get into mtech. My plans after the degree is to get into isro as an electrical engineer.

Placement Experience:
The placements are quite good the average package is around 18 lacks per annum the ackages vary from 4Cr to 10 lacks now it depends upon your skills and branch how much you can grab . The students can apply at the end of 7th sem .

- Academically inclined peer group helps in our growth and motivates us to work hard

- Campus location is a bit of a issue when it comes to social life outside the campus
- Weather conditions can be a little troublesome
- Academic Stress could have been reduced by optimising course curriculum

After 6th semester, students become eligible for placements. All the major companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Axis Bank, Goldman Sachs, etc. visits the campus every placement period.

What is your review of the earth sciences department at IIT Kanpur?

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
