my college provides placements. so there are placements in december where google, microsoft, infosys etc many companies provide placements and internship opportunities. Many entrepreneurship is also encouraged.

- Overall greenery in campus and that too well maintained in 1140 acres of land.
- Supportive seniors: You stuck in a problem all you need you is to contact the senior in that domain. He/she would always be ready to help you out
- Peer groups: Here tops mind from all over India comes and live in a close enviroment you will get to learn new skills, cultures etc.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The main reason why I choose this course because I am geniunely very much exicited how engineering can be used in biological fields. I have an option of choosing a branch which is considered better than BSBE but I decided to not opt for that branch only because of my intrest.
If I talk about my branch there is around 50 students so faculty student ratio is very good its feels like I'm in school.
There is no doubt about the faculty Qualification of faculties who is teaching in IITs but what I feel is that they are not able to deliver what exactly they want Or may be they know that much which is above our understanding limits. So before Exams online sources like youtube and other educational platforms are key to success.
Talking about Exams Mid sem and End sem is conducted as per tentative dates and there are also quizes in between the courses which are basically class tests and that are also grades so you have to also score good in that. It is not that hard to pass any course

- IITK has a very large campus area of 1050 acres.
- IITK has a very well developed infrastructure
- IITK provides me with a lot of extracurricular activities
Dislikes
- we have a large students to teacher ratio.
- IITk provides 1st year student with double sharing or triple sharing rooms
- A small girls to boys ratio which makes me somewhat disappointed.

after completing 7th semester a b-tech student can apply for campus placements.there are a lot of companies came for placements around 450 companies came, and each around 1000 students got placed . around 60-70% students get placed.

- Placements opportunities provided by the college and also for research enthusiasts this college helps very much to build. Campus size and also very beautiful campus. SIS SECURITY that controls whole IIT KANPUR. Seniors are also very helpful. and you.

- Professors are autonomous. They can do anything according to their choice. Acads is tough. and also competition in this institute is tremendous. Every student is talented. So there is no chill life in IIT. You must to grind your ass off in this col
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for placements from 5th semester. Many MNCs visits like Goldmann sachs, Google, Microsoft, Quant. These companies hire on crores package in our college. Highest package is 4CR and average package is around 27 LPA.

- The faculties are very experienced and the environment is very good for gaining knowledge if individual is interested.
- The sports facilities are very good all equipments for sports are provided by the institute. Also coaches help to learn things properly.
- students here are good nature wise and also we get to discover diverse cultures as everyone is from a different place..

- The competition everywhere is very high everywhere clubs, studies, sports ,need to work hard here also.
- The grading is bad in some courses all the grades are in hand of the instructor .
- Had to study engineering drawing and biology even tho my branch is based on maths. But still its ok for first year.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose the course as i loved mathematics. And i was eligible to take this course on the basis of jee rank. The faculty student ratio is about 11.This is a top tier institute in India and hence the faculty are highly qualified with post doctorate
degrees in thier respective domain from well known universities.They teach in asuch a way that ignites my curiosity in that course.We are taught some courses out of our discipline so we can explore more things.Mid sem exams are held after 2 months of starting of semester followed by end sems after other two months.quizes are held on certain dates keeping into consideration the convenience of students as well as the faculties.

- The campus is absolutely ragging free. This is very rare in engineering colleges.
- The air inside the campus is very clean,and the hostels are maintained regularly.
- The peer group is excellent, comprising of the brightest minds in the country.
Dislikes
- Very poor gender ratio. The sex ratio is approximately 1:4 and you rarely ever get to talk to a girl.
- Since the students comprise of elite rankers, all course exams without exception have high competition.
- Teachers have very poor teaching skills. You have to do extensive work on your own in understanding the course material.

From the 7th semester students are eligible to sit for campus placements. The average last year was 27 lakh. However,due to recession, many students were unplaced,and the placement was very poor compared to normal years.

- Campus life will be awesome and it's around 1200 acres.
- You will get a lot of freedom and access to maximum things.
- Fests will be at the peak and Culture of IITK is good.
Dislikes
- Grading is bad and toughest among all IIT's.
- No supplies if any student fails in any course.
- Some professors will be very rude which may effect PG and PhD students.
Placement Experience:
From 4th year students are eligible for placements.
Many companies visit and there will be around 900 to 1000 offers in a total batch.
Highest package of civil engineering will be around 20 lakh and avg will be around 7 lakh.
around 80 to 85 percent students will be placed.
getting a job is my first priority.

- Academic pressure is more as compared to other IITs.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course due to my immense interest in this field. The faculty-to-student ratio in My department is around 1:12. The faculties are highly educated individuals with post doctorate degrees from well-known foreign universities in their respective domains. All of these teachers teach in a very interesting manner that everything seems easy and amusing.
Two exams are held every semester, midsems after 1.5 months of the start of the first sem followed by endsems after the other 1.5 months. Quizzes are held on certain dates keeping into consideration the convenience of students and faculties.

- Some professors keep absolute grading sysytem which makes us difficult to score
- Double and Triple seater rooms in IITK .I wanted single room
- Low gender ratio.Its like 1 girlis to 4 boys

Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course because I like the domain that I am studying in. This college is very good morning. Faculty student ratio is about 1:200 but many tutors are assigned to a group of around 30 students. Term exams are quite often and the academics are tough too.

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
