IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

As far as I know , students get eligible for placements roughly around semester 5 . Almost all the big companies visits iit kgp campus and no. Of offers made are obviously greater than the number of students . The highest package is around 2.78 crore pa and the average is around 30.53 lpa . The placement percentage would lie roughly between 80-90% . My plan is not fixed yet after getting degree

Around 70 percent students here opt for placements, others might go for Higher studies or for business/startups. This number might decrease this year and within next few years as the Startup craze is increasing in students

There is an internship at the end of 3rd yesr and from 4th year students get PPOs and get placed in various colleges. Almost every tech and other comapanies visit our college ranging from google amazon to reliance , adani industries.The Highest package of mechanical engineering ranges from 80-100 lacs and the median package is 18-19lacs. The percentage of students getting placed is about 75 percent whereas many other get to higher studies or UPSC. I am aiming for higher studies after graduation.

Students can register for placement in two consecutive windows, one in July and one in January. After , the students are eligible for the placements through CDC(Career Development Centre). The highest package offered to a student during the 2022-2023 placement season was 2.68 crore p.a. (CPA).Average package goes around 29 laks p.a. Top recruiters are:- Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Intel, Qualcomm, Apple, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro,etc Almost 93%of people were placed. My plans is to take a job and head further in the tech field.

Any B.tech student becomes eligible for campus placements in his/her 7th semester. If he/she is a M.tech student then it is in 9th semester. The number of offers made in the first round was more than 500 and the number will keep increasing. There were a lot of companies who visited in my college like bajaj, TCS,WIPRO, Goldman sac,Nvidia and there are many more.The profiles offered were full stack developer, Data analyst, semiconductor engineer and etc.The percentage of students getting placements has decreased in recent years due to recession but it is still more than 70%.My plans after getting a degree is to join a company which at that time will be working on a AI based robot, There are some companies working on it now but after few years the number of companies in this domain will increase exponentially.

I can't judge the curriculum only in one month ,we have two departmental course and three non departmental course,one is advance calculas,one is mechanics and last is physics of waves, . the physics of waves is the hardest I think

so if we talk about placements, then its currently not good but it does not means that placement is totally zero . it varies every year but currently its going down. so after 3rd year you can apply for internships and placements . and if you are in 1st or 2nd year then you can apply for free or paid internships to learn more and more to build you cv. Highest package offered was 2.68 crore rupees per annum and average package is around 18 - 20 lakhs rupees per annum. companies participated in last session was 61 and total offers made were 700. number of international offers were 19 (6 offers were more than 1 crore per annum). number of students placed in 2023 were 1750. popular recruiters were ITC limited, goldman, sachs, HUL . so those who dont get any job or they are not placed , they basically continue to become enterpreneur. my plans after completing my degree to become a famous architect.

IIT Kharagpur is known for its Strong placement record across various departments and interdisciplinary areas. Last year IIT KGP set a record of the fastest 4000 placements across the nation. Career Development Centre of IIT KGP manages the entire placements of The campus ensuring proper connect between students and recruiters. Tech Giants like Google, Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, Apple visit the campus Consulting firms like Mckinsey BCG etc also visit the placements. With the placements record crossing over 90% across many departments, IIT KGP has an average package of 24 lakhs and a Median of around 20 lakhs.

From 7 th semester end students are eligible to sit in CDC. Companies visiting include MANG and many other MNC's. Highest package is 1.5cr pa average being 22lpa. People can opt into tech, consulting, finance and management profiles. Due to recent setbacks only 60% are getting places My plans are maybe higher studies.
