IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The placement here in IIT Kharagpur are very good the median package for the year 2023 is around 24 lakh p.a. which is continuously increasing. Students are eligible for placement from there seventh semester. The highest package offered in 2023 is around 2.68 crore. there were 45 international offers and 1600+ offers were made in total. There were around 300 companies that visited . Top recruiters were ITC Ltd. , Goldman sachs , HUL , Amazone , Barclays , KPMG. I can either go for placement or for higher studies I am not sure about it at the moment.

As far as I know students become eligible for placements from 7th Semester onwards. A plethora of companies visit the campus for recruiting the candidates. Latest data tells that over 500 companies visit the campus and 1353 offers were given to 1277 students . Highest package was offered to a CS student which was of 169.8 lakhs. Many profiles are being offered such as Software, Consulting, Finance, Product Management,etc. My plans after getting the degree is do a MTech from IIT Bombay.

Campus Placement season starts here in IIT Kharagpur in the end of the pre-final semester or the fisrt semester of the final year. Companies start visiting the campus in the month of December every year for Phase 1, and in January for Phase 2. Top Product based companies like - Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, Netflix, Uber, Zomato etc..come for placements and give high CTC like 40 LPA and even above for Software profiles. There are various profiles available in companies coming for placements - software, Data, machine Learning, Finance, Product, consulting, UI/UX designing and so on. Almost 80 % students get placed in our college every year and number of offers is as close as 1800 every year. Many students get pre-placement offers as well, after the completion of their internships and they are not eligible for placements. I am planning to sit for palcements this year and aiming for software, data analysis, consulting and UI/UX designing roles.

The courses are very varse and dives deep into that topic. For core courses the curriculum is very compressive and also teaches the real world applications very well. But for course related to tech and IT there needs improvement as the courses have become outdated in the present scenario. They need to teach real world applications for it. For the exams there it's much load even if you haven't studied whole semester you could score decent enough by studying 1-2 weeks before exam which a very good thing because in other time you could focus on your other extracurriculars and club activities. As I said there are only two exams in a semester, but some faculties take class tests some times.

Our college placements are good enough . After 2nd year students may apply for interships of companies through College. My plan is to get good placement after getting degree. Percentage of placements is quite good :in our branch particularly about 95%.

The college placement ratio is about 86 percent. It is a good ratio. From 7th semester a student become eligible for campus placement. Last year average package of college is 24 LPA. Highest package of college is 2.86 CrPA.

IIT Kharagpur consistently boasts high plcement rates with significant percentage of students securing jobs before their graduation.At IIT Kharagpur, students typically become eligible for campus placements from 6th semester i.e. third year for undergraduate program. Around 120+ Top companies visit IIT kharagpur each year.Some of them are like Google,Microsoft,Accenture , Goldman Sachs and many more . The no of offeres each year ranges from 800-1200 with 70% of student getting placed So far my current aim is get placed at campus placements but if I did not get placed then i will pursue for higher education i.e M.tech in my branch

As I am in Biotech Department, for 1st year there is not lot of thing for biotech core instead from 2nd year onwards we have lot work to do with biosciences. Frequency of exams is 2 per semester plus Lab test plus 2-3 Class Test

placement reports of iit kharagpur is best among all the other IITs . it is the oldest IIT so the alumni network is so good . so they helps us for the placements for the different departments and MNCs . The average placement is 20 to 24 lakh per anum. and a lot of students also go for off campus placements and higher studies too. the companies like google , microsoft, flipkart, amazon .. etc MNCs take students from our college every year . overall 80 to 90 % students get placed during the placement. i will go for the higher studies insted of placement after graduation because i want to expore it in a higher level.

This is the first time the course of Artificial Intelligence has been introduced in IIT Kharagpur. I expect that placements would be good with median about 32 lakh and average about 40 lakhs after 4 year.
