IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

In 5th and 6th semester you can apply for internship and can get PPO's . companies like microsoft,google,amazon many consulting furms like mckensie,accenture,goldmansachs etc. they hire based on their skills not on their departments, so lower branches students also get equal opportunities . last year highest package offered was 2.68 crore to a mnc student . average package is around 18 lakh p.a. almost 78 percentage of the whole batch got placed last year.

Students are eligible for CDC in 3rd year and eligible for placement in 4th year. The average package of mechanical engineering department is 20LPA. Around 90-95% students get placed every year(of course who are eligible for placements). Many of the students go for Tech companies and also take PPO. I am planning to go for Tech companies.

Course curriculum is really best as it provides in dept knowledge of courses along with industry experience which is very much required in this competitive world to get a good job and building careers. Even though it is so good it's load is very less with five hour classes daily for five days a week. Just a tab of Bachelor of Science is what we do not like..

After 4th semester companies coke for internship and in 7th sem you are allowed to sit in placements. This is the average package was a bit lower around 20lpa but for cse it was 42 lpa. Aroud 600 700 companies came and usually make 1400 1500 offers and about 80 percent of the students are placed oncampus and the others if they have skill get offers offf campus also

The course curriculum is relevant as its the college where evry department is somewhere connects with the modern demand of tech, having almost departments in a single place give you the opportunity to find what you love and want to create a new future intigrating them. Exams are after 1.5months generally and its not as much loaded in terms of other activities. The best place to learn and live in short.

Students become eligible for campus placements after 6th semester of the course.A lot of companies like Airbus, Bosch, Ford, Rubik, Google, Apple visits here and total of 75.15 percentage of ug students got placed last year.I am planning to become a great engineer after getting the degree and later on will do a start up.

The students, in the 7th sem become eligible for campus placements. Major companies like Google, Microsoft, facebook, etc. visit here. The highest package provided by any company is 2.67 crores(CTC). Many students gets placed via college placements but there are students who go for off campus placements via directly applying the companies. I want to pursue higher studies after getting the degree.

The Campus placement is good. Considering I am enrolled in best branch of one of the best college of india, the average package of my branch is nearly 40lpa which is quite good. Highest package on campus last year was 2.18 crore per year. Nearly all students who opt for placement get placed at the end of fourth year.

Internship opportunities starts here from 3rd year .People get exposure as to how working in real field looks like.Placements are quite good.Average salary is around 15 LPA.Median is about 17 LPA.Highest was 36 LPA . Around 40 percent were only placed.I plan to getting placed in one the top core company.
