But, if we talk about scholarship then it's a bad news that there is no institute scholarship for unreserved students but u can get it for other organisations like nsp.
The hostel rooms are also not good enough and lack cleanliness sometimes and have broken chairs/ tables, etc. at times.
The academic workload can be sometimes demanding, not always but sometimes, leading to stress and pressure among students.

The college has been able to draw good returns from its alumni network making it easier for the current students to tap the opportunities out there. The college gives its students good exposure and makes them dream big and aspire for higher aims.
My IIT JEE AlR was 9166 and AIEEE AIR was 6288 in year 2010. But I opted IIT Kharagpur because it was near to my native place, Jamshedpur and obviously anyone would prefer IIT rather then any other college. My score was 191 in IITJEE entrance exam.
College was good. facilities were very good like labs, library, sports.College management was OK. campus placement was very good.almost all of my class mates placed.I would recommend to my juniors.
Pros : Diverse, Very big college, Have societies for almost all the activities, No discrimination, Great environment inside the campus. Cons - Far away from any city/metro area.2) Not much to roam around in the near by areas. Management is overall good. They are helpful in many matters. We have a police station and hospital inside the college. It also makes college safer place.
Life in IIT Kharagpur is beyond documentation and has its own charm. Kharagpur in itself does not have many amenities in terms of recreation and we have embraced it with love and warmth. The green campus with orange streetlights in night provides a vintage 1960s movie look and is beautiful. Overall, I would say despite every stressful situation, life at IIT Kharagpur campus is worth it.
