IIM Sirmaur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

I always wanted to pursue MBA but because of the lockdown, I am pursuing it early. Faculty to student ratio is close to 1:10 All of them are required to have a PhD, as far as the pedagogy is concerned, it was pretty good. Represents industry standard IIMs follow a rigorous academic curriculum which is reflected in their exams as well.

I chose this course as I believed that an MBA degree would provide me with extensive knowledge about the business and the corporate world, which would provide me with a launch pad in the corporate world. There are about 30+ full-time faculty and many visiting faculties at IIM Sirmaur. Exams are conducted in two parts per semester which are Mid-term and End-term.

The students are eligible for campus placements after the IV term. The highest package for placement season 2020-2022 was 26.5 LPA, and the average was 12.74 LPA. Ninety-nine percent of students get placed by the institute, some have PPOs from their internships, and some opt out of the campus placement process.

As soon as you enter the second year, you are eligible for campus placement offers. More than 100 companies visit, with a 100% placement. The degree's main goal for almost more than 75% of the batch is either to get a hike in their career or start it on a good level.

The institute has its own placement cell. The cell is responsible for getting the students placed. The very first placement process starts as soon as the program begins. It is for the mandatory summer internships. The next placement process starts in the second year. This is for the final placements. The companies that visit our campus include Delloite, Accenture. ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, EY, KPMG, Collegedunia, Mahindra, DCM Sriram, Tirupati Group Etc. The average stipend for summer internships is around 45k per month while the highest goes uptill 1 Lakh per month. The average package for the final placements is around 14 LPA and the highest goes uptill 25 LPA (domestic). Talking about my plans post graduation, I would prefer working for some years before pursuing academia. I would love to pursue a PhD in a related field.

Our college provides placements every year, and 100% of students get placed every year in their own choice of domain. Some big companies take part in our placement process every year from across various Domains.

I chose it because the college had good packages. The coming of the new director Prafulla Agnihotri meant better opportunitites to interact with the newer more experienced faculties he hired after his recent appointment. The faculty-to-student ratio is nice too because a professor generally teaches two sections at a time and no classes have more than 60 students.

As of now, the internship opportunities which the college provides are not so good. It is very hard to find a desired company and role for the internship. Final placements are decent but they should be improved as per the IIM standards.

There are a lot of good companies visiting the campus, such as Accenture, Adani, ICICI, HDFC, and DCM Shriram, among others. The average package is around 14 Lacs, with the highest domestic package being 26L, and the highest international package is 64L.

The placement season starts in the second year. Several companies have visited for campus recruitment which included Deloitte, Amazon, DCM, Mahindra, L&T etc... detailed report is provided on the institute's website.100% of the students are placed from the campus recruitment. My plan is to work in a reputed company as a marketing manager.
