IEM Kolkata (IEM Saltlake) Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The placements are decent. The highest package for B.Tech CSE was 22 lpa (all candidates) and 40 lpa (reserved for women) . Apart from that average package is 5.5 lpa and median is 3.5 lpa. Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th semester. Many renowned companies come in our campus like TCS, PWC, Cognizant, Capgemini. Last year Oracle made an offer of 18 lpa to many of our seniors. Most of the students getting placed have a cgpa of 8.7 and above. Apart from that many students have backup plans and also go for off campus placements. I will personally also try to grab an off campus placement .

Before 2023 the placement is upto 90 percent but in 2024 due to ressesion, the placement is reduce to 65-70 percent that is good with respect to other colleges. There are 30-40 company visited every year in our college. Most of the student would preferr placement (on campus) some are opted for gov. Jobs or some are for higher studies. highest package is around 13-14LPA and average package is 5lpa . My plan is to take a job in IT sector.

Yes there is specific aspects of the circulum also happen day to day interaction with their mentors gives us appropriate idea which field we want to choose or which field is appropriate for this thing is very helpful for us

BCA course is one of those courses which students of this generation like very much. Basically students who love coding and want to build software enjoy this course. And BCA department of our college is one the best department in West Bengal. In our college before each semester several exams taken to help students for their best result. In every year there is a project where students are instructed to build models which are helpful in real world applications and also for their future. Even in labs tough coding is given to students to build their strength in coding. However many computers of labs are old model, even the mouses and keyboards donot work several times, which the authorities need to focus.

Students become eligible for campus placements after the 3rd year or the 6th semester. Various different and famous companies come to iem for recruitment. Such as Accenture, Deloitte, SAP Labs, etc. And the average package from these placements are around 8-10LPA. The highest package that someone got was 30LPA. Around 80% of the students gets placement. Whereas my plans after completing this course is going for MBA after cracking the CAT examination.

After 3rd year students become eligible for campus placements. The highest package is 16-20lpa with average being around 5lpa. Different companies come with mass recruiters and distinguished companies offering various job position Almost all students are placed bt mtech after btech is also a good option to choose

Its good comparing to other tire 2/3 colleges. I was placed in an IT company with 6.25 lakh package and all my batchmate secured placement as developer or analyst. Highest packages were from big companies like adobe, amazon, lexmark, oracle, delloite. 90% placement record. I have worked in the company I was placed then moved on for MBA.

From 6th Sem, students become eligible for placements. The college brings some good companies as well as mass recruiters in the campus for placements. Some major companies that come are - Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Capegemini, Oracle etc. The offerings depend on company to company. Although a majority get selected in mass recruitment companies, some grab really good packages from other companies.

After 6th sem students Are eligible for placements. Companies like google , tcs ,wipro, ibm, amazons ,cognizant, accenture etc vistis our campus tcs hired like 250 students. Highest package is 72 lpa and average package will be 5-6 lpa. 90-100% students are getting placed.my plan is to go for master S. after completion of the Course.

Placement of this college is good enough.As this college is situated in sector V many IT companies also visit here.even during the time of recession companies like oracle, jaspay, adobe , pwc, tcs visited the campus for placement and students who were skilled got the placement
