St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology Kolkata Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Students from the 4th year onwards became eligible for campusing. Many companies visited our campus. The principal recruiter as I have mentioned previously also was Cognizant. It offered the max package of 6 lakhs per annum followed by Infosys which offered a package of 5 lakhs per annum Any average student got a package of 4 lakhs per annum from any of these companies. Other companies which followed them were ITC infotech, Larsen and Toubro, ZTE, Odesha Technologies, Sonodyne, Vodafone, and others. Many students from our course ie. Electronics got double job offers. Approximately 88 % of students got job offers during on campus. Now the students who didn't get job offers here got job offers in off-campus placements. If you speak about my plans after getting a degree, it is that I want to pursue MBA after getting my undergraduate degree if I can't get success in the IES exam. This is what I have decided till now.

From around the 6th to 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Our college has a tie-up with Cognizant, which hires the major number of students from here. Companies like Infosys, ITC Infotech, Wipro, NRIFT, etc. also recruit from here. The average package lies around 3.5-4 LPA with the highest reaching up to 8-10 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is very high here. Around 219 students were eligible in the last placement session, which is fairly high because there are only four streams or around 250 students. I will definitely sit for the placement but my main target is to go Master in Technology.(M.Tech)

If we speak of campus placements students from the final year onwards are only eligible for campusing. Strictly speaking, if you are in the 7th semester you can sit for an campus program. There are other companies like Odessa technologies, ZTE, Sonodyne which also came for campusing purposes but these hired only a few. About 88% of students got placed from our college during our time. The highest package was offered by cognizant of about 5 lakhs per annum. The lowest package offered was 3.5 lakhs per annum. The average package offered by Cognizant was just around 4 lakhs per annum. Many students got double job offers from Infosys and cognizant. I always dreamt of appearing in the IES exam after completing my degree. So hopefully I will pursue the same.

Apart from this other companies like Infosys, Itc Infotech also came and hired many. The highest offer was 5 lakhs and it was offered by Cognizant. 3 lakhs was the minimum package and average students got 4 lakhs packages per annum. 88% of students got placed during our time. Those students who did not get placement in these colleges got offers from others like ZTE Solutions, Odessa Technologies, Vodafone Idea now named VI, Sonodyne etc. In cognizant you will be given the role of Programmer analyst and in Infosys, you will be getting the role of Systems engineer on joining. There is no bond in cognizant whereas in Infosys you will have to make a bond and the bond duration will be of 1 year. I dream of either sitting for IES exam or pursuing an MBA after passing out of college.

Good placement for all the students, most of the students graduate from the college landing two jobs and overall the college has good faculty and laboratories. The camus is quiet big with a huge playground. One must be quiet disciplined to survive the college environment for for years, because that parameter is must in this college.

Our college has all the necessary infrastructure and labs. But to some extent the equipments are not properly maintained. Classrooms are spacious and clean and well maintained. We have no hostels but pg is available. we have a canteen which provides all sorts of foods including biryani on fridays.

Our college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities, and equipment, but we do not have any kind of luxury( air conditioner, lift, etc). the living space is very clean and our college is NBA accredited.

Our college has good and presentable infrastructure. it is clean and clear. we get the resources required for our studies and laboratories properly. Our college has a big library with reasonable stock of varieties of books including undergraduate and post graduate books. our laboratories are sufficient. we got three sport centers including 2 playing grounds and 2 common rooms for both boys and girls separately. The living space is clean and canteen food is hygienic.

My college is very good for a campus placement point of view. The teachers are well versed in their respective domains, students can gain valuable insights, boost and skyrocket their dreams with proper guidance. Moreover, St. Thomas is a NBA acclaimed college.

Discipline,good faculty,Our college provides exclusive training for placements,Labs have good facilities with Wi-Fi facility. The libraries have an ample number of books to study, and space is enough to accommodate 500 students at a time. The grounds available for sports are very good, and it is duly taken care off.
