St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology Kolkata Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Students become eligible for campus placements from the third year itself. However fourth year students are given preference. The top 10 students of each department are 100% sure to get placements. 75% students get placed in every department except EE with only 25% placement that too in IT sector. Good companies don't visit the campus except mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Capgemini. They take students in bulk and 85% percent of those recruited leave their jobs within two years. The average CTC is meagre 4 lakh per annum but for exceptionally well students it is as high as 1 crore + like that of an EE student in 2022. Some passed out CSE students who have cracked hackathons have secured 75 lakh per annum jobs in off-campus placements in Capgemini. Few students have got research opportunities later in countries like USA, Netherlands and Germany. Overall good college for studies and well as average placements. For great students the college has great opportunities.

From the 6th semester, onwards many MNCs start visiting our campus for hiring. Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Accenture, and Juspay are the main recruiters. A total of 289 offers were offered up to April 2022 for 219 eligible candidates. 96% of the students got placed on campus. Highest package-27 lakhs, Average package-6 lakhs. I am also looking for a good placement after getting the degree.

The faculty-student ratio is near about 1:25. The college claims that 70% of the faculty members are having a Ph.D. degree while others have a post-graduate degree. Most the teacher teaches in a good and understandable way. The end sem exam is conducted by MAKAUT as this college is affiliated with MAKAUT. Normally there are two internal exams in a semester. If you start reading attentively just a week before the exam you can easily able to score a good CGPA.

Manly the companies are the same in every college only the package varies about 10 to 15000 our college provides the lowest salary of 4lakh rupees and highest is 12 lakh rupees but many people got their job through the intern and they got jobs in google Microsoft. Etc and the percentage is 100percent

Students from the 4th year onwards were eligible for seating at campus placements. You can get multiple job offers from various companies which happen to visit our college. Our principal recruiter was cognizant of technology solutions followed by Infosys, ITC infotech, Vodafone, odehs technologies and various other companies. During our time 88% of students were selected. Many got double job offers from Infosys and cts. The highest package of 6 lakhs per annum was offered by cts where an average package of 4 lakhs per annum was offered by Infosys and itc infotech offered a package of about 4.5 lakhs per annum. So you can see in our college we do have good placement scopes. After getting the degree I plan to pursue my MBA dreams or maybe I can seat for the ies exam about which I have mentioned earlier. Let's see what happens in near future.

Students from the 4th-year 7th semester onwards become eligible for all sorts of campus recruitments. Cognizant technology solutions are the principal recruiter. Other companies which used to come during this time include Infosys, Odesha technologies, itc infotech, and others. All these companies generally take many students from our campus. During our time around 88% of students got selected from our batch. Out of which many students got double job offers from cognizant and Infosys. Some got job offers in sonodyne, Vodafone, and other companies. The highest package was offered by cognizant which was about 6 lakhs per annum. An average package of 3.5 lakhs per annum was offered by Infosys followed by itc infotech which offered roughly 4 lakhs per annum. After getting the degree I will pursue Ms maybe or maybe I can opt for MBA too. Also, I can sit for ies exam. Let's see what happens.

As I am from the electrical engineering department. From the past trends the students has almost 70 - 80 % chances of getting placed in different companies. The placement records of other departments( ex: CSE , ECE, AI&ML ,IT) are far above from our department . I think in these growing world , the placement records will improve in the future .

Students become eligible to sit for placements after 6th semester. Companies namely Cognizant, NRIFT, Infosys, Indusnet Technologies, ITC Infotech, etc visit for on campus hiring. The average package is around 3 to 4 lpa and the highest package is 8 lpa. About 80 % students get placed and many also opt for higher studies. My plan is to sit for GATE exam.

Students from 4th year onwards become eligible for campusing. I mean students who are in 7th semester are eligible for campusing. Various companies do visit our campus. This is another reason why I chose this college over others. Our principal recruiter is cognizant followed by Infosys, other technologies, Wipro, Vodafone, ZTE etc. Many students got double job offers from both Infosys and cognizant. Around 88% of students were selected from on campus. Rest got their job offers from off-campus. The highest package was offered by cognizant which gave around a lumpsum ctc of 6 laks per annum. Min package of 4 lakhs was offered by Infosys of 4 lakhs per annum. Another thing average package of 5 lakhs was offered by cognizant. My plan after getting the degree is to get an MBA degree or else I can pursue ms in foreign country. Let's see what happens in the future.

If we come to campussing aspect, students in their final year will only be eligible for campussing. Also if you have any pending backlogs you will not be allowed to sit for Infosys exam. If you are a topper then you will not be needed to sit for any aptitude exam for cognizant. You will just need to sit for cognizant interview. For Infosys, you need to appear for aptitude, hr and tr rounds. Various companies visited our campus like cognizant, Infosys, itc infotech, odesha technologies, sonodyne, ZTE, Vodafone etc. Highest package of 6 lakhs per annum was offered by cognizant whereas lowest package of 4 lakhs was offered by infosys. Average package of 5 lakhs was offered by cognizant. People who were not selected from on campus got themselves placed in offcampus. Around 88% students got placed from our batch. After getting degree I want to pursue MBA from a recognised b school or else will prepare for IES exam.
