ST Xavier's Kolkata Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

I wanted to pursue CA as my career and this course was the best option to go along with my career choices. Also, I'm good at accounting. Faculty: student ratio is quite fair. The teaching method is pretty decent as there are a lot of interaction sessions with the professors during lectures. Term exams are conducted at almost fixed dates every year and it's not that difficult to crack them.

I choose this course because I had to Pursue CA and with CA I will be graduating so I opt for it. Faculties are good in college. Unlike any other college, Xavier's does provide quality education to students. We have 6 semesters in 3 years and there are 2 exams in one semester, basically one is like a mid-term test and the final one.

The eligibility to sit in placements is being in the final year of your course. Not many UG students go for placements as they want to go for higher educational qualifications. My plan after getting a degree is to pursue MBA.

From the 2nd year onwards students get eligible for Placement into different fields and different industries varying on their CV. The highest package of our college for the FY 22-23 was 22 lakhs P.A. Renowned companies like Tata Steel, Reliance, ITC, HUL, Kotak Mahindra Bank, etc come to the college placement.

In your 3rd year, you become applicable for placement. In our course, we don't have good placements if you don't have any experience or certificate in that particular role that you have applied for then your chances of selection are less. I don't know about the companies that come for the placement as I am not taking any. Most students get placements.

From semester 5, placements generally take place. Companies such as Deloitte, EY, PwC, Wtw, Itc, and many more come for on-campus placement. I've noticed that the highest package was 18 lpa for a business analyst role for commerce students.

In the Third Year students are eligible for campus placement. There are very famous companies visiting such as PWC, TCS, Deloitte, Accenture, L&B, ICICI Bank etc. I don't know about the packages they offered. The highest place I have heard of is 24 LPA. I think 20% of the students get placement. I will do CFA after getting the degree.

Was quite aligned with my professional career and about the teaching faculty the teachers are approachable few are a bit rigid but that's how it goes. Non-teaching staff are very interactive too. Everything is fine.

Students become eligible after the 3rd year itself. And several companies visit the campus including EY a reputed company for CA pursuing people. My plans are to pursue CA and continue with the family business after college

The college has tie-ups with 50 plus companies which offer the students of the college a large variety of places to work on. There is a placement cell which holds a placement drive for last year's students. The placement rate is very high.
