Course Curriculum Overview
Cuuriculum is actually very good as it is very comprehensive and diverse. There is practical and applied skill subjects as well like IT applications for economics and data camp. You can aslo choosde to make your degree more theory oriented or employement oriented or research orieneted.
Internships Opportunities
I was offered an internship at Economic times and stipend was Rs 5000/month. another internship was godrej properties at stipend was Rs. 10,000 per month. Also varioyus NGO internships and volunteering opportunity were offered through college's NGO Society
Placement Experience
Placements start in 2nd last semester and there are placements but not very good like big MNCs and banks. But many students don't take lacements and go for masters instead. Some big names this year for placement were NielsonIQ, Tresvista, Z associates
Fees and Financial Aid
Year wise fees for first year for general category was around 2,15,000 with increment of around 15 to 20 thousand every year. There were no ther quoatas as such as it is a private college. No full scholarships were available.
Campus Life
There were many fests and society in college. Main fest is Equilibria which is cultural fest and other is ECONOMIST OF THE YEAR which is economics related fest. There is sports fest as well every year called EQ Sports.
Admission
I applied to only one other college that is NMIMS economics school and I chose symbiosis because it is better in terms of placements, course structure and location as Pune is a better student friendly and cost effective city.
Faculty
faculty to student ratio is around 1 is to 25. Faculties are helpful and approachable and encorage you to conduct research. Faculty of finance, trade and dvelopment economics are some of the best faculty. Although there are only semester end full lenghth external exams but many quizes and assignments for internal examination happen around the year.
Interview Experience
There was a common entrance test for symbiosis called SET. fter that there is a PI round for which you have to give interview to admission team. PI round is about why you choosing a specific course and GK questions
