Course Curriculum Overview

3

I liked the subjects such as statistics ,Math eco ,micro macro and also new languages. These subjects played a huge role in my decision to join the college. The course makes you do case studies and mostly give you case studies in exams and hence it automatically makes you think about the real world situations and you become more aware. It's really helpful. Tough but in a long run really helpful. Some teachers needs to explain the concepts in a more better way because there are students who never had eco or maths before this bsc course . You need to be quick with your answers as the papers are lengthy and a bit difficult so the easy questions shouldnt take much time.

Fees and Financial Aid

We need to give SET exam after which we need to get selected for personal interview and and the fees for the exam is ?2250. Once you get selected for the college after clearing the set exam and the personal interview, you have to pay 2,80,000 for 1 st year which needs to be paid in installments. 1,50,000 while taking admission and the remaining during the 1 st month of semester 2. Everything is included in this not just the tuition fees. Approximately 10 lakhs is to be paid for the entire course of 4 years . The caution fees is ?10,000 and it is refundable. This is about the general category of bsc economics. The lab fees are included as we need the lab only for IT applications such as Ms Excel and Python.

Campus Life

3

The annual festival is Niverve which happens during Feb-Mar. You can get mostly all type of economics book and journals. It's a small library but good books. The best one is the one which deals with business economics. There are Acs only to a few rooms . Rest no ACs but the Pune temperature doesn't require you to use AC. There is monitor in every classroom. It's like a normal student classroom as it should be in private institutions. There are 2 computer labs. If you are coming to Symbiosis School of economics forget about on campus sports as the campus is too small . There are no sports facilities but there is a gym. But you can represent your college and represent them in inter institute competitions and many more depending on how good of a player you are. Practice sessions are done outside the campus. There is a emotional well being club started which is really nice looking into how frustrated and tensed people are these days.

Admission

I applied for du but didn't do well in cuet. The Symbiosis School of Economics is one of the the best courses after that which is the reason why I have chosen it.Christ is good as well .Chist and SSE are the two options after Du which you can choose. I already mentioned the admission process in previously. The eligibility is 50 per cent and above in class 12.

Faculty

3

The faculties are approachable . They are helpful but at the same time one or two are not and you cannot find every teacher good. I won't name people The faculties of subjects such as Ethics, Statistics ,Indian Constitution ,Mathematical Economics II teachers were really good in semester 1. The ones not good were from the subjects Principles of Economics . Rest were mid. The exams are difficult. Its not about studying. It's about understanding the subject because what you are reading from your notes and books will not come . The papers are more practical with the new education policy so you need to think and write papers. Memorizing doesn't help everytime. Yes people do face backlogs so the most important thing is concentrate on your class and make notes there and there itself. The course is good and the course is the reason why many people join Symbiosis School of Economics

Night Life

3

I already said most of it before. There is one canteen and one mess. Gym is there not in the SSE building but in the adjacent gate . Limited seats are available in hostels. Hostel and mess fees have to be paid together if paying for hostel. There aren't any . Best is Library or go home or pg or hostel during the free time.People come here because of the course .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
