Likes

The faculty is experienced and knowledgeable.
The course structure caters to holistic learning.
Extra curriculars are highly encouraged in the college.

Dislikes

The campus is small, with little to no sports grounds.
The intimidation time is very short for important events.
Infrastructure could have been more rewarding considering the fees

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is very well structured according to the NEP, the division of courses and the selection of minors and majors is diverse. The course is not monotonous. Exams are held at perfect intervals and what is taught is what is asked

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There is a mandatory internship to be done at the end of 2nd year that is for a month students are usually not paid for the duration but SSE does provide a lot of opportunities for you to apply for including RBI

Placement Experience

The placements are held in an orderly manner with a decent average package for freshers. A few students apply for placements due to wanting to pursue higher education. The companies include Delloite, Tressvista etc and the highest package goes up to 20 LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is not increasing, I pay 230000 approx per year which is on the high end but you receive the facilities accordingly. It's a 4 year course which amounts to approx 10L but the ROI is excellent considering the placements

Campus Life

The campus life is amazing as SSE promotes a very holistic learning environment. The library is well equipped and there's a huge basket of clubs to choose from other than there being monthly events that are hosted with great enthusiasm

Admission

This college had a more diverse learning environment compared to the other colleges I applied to adding to the student culture and affordability of Pune, made it a very easy decision to choose SSE among other colleges.

Faculty

There's one faculty for each course teaching a batch of 120 students but each division only has 40 students. Me Sumit who taught microeconomics was a very learned professional and catered a good learning experience. The exams are usually difficult and a fair few students get backlogs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

The Campus Story : the lands of horror.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.

The course is an integrated MSc and the Institute is funded by the both university of Mumbai and the department of atomic energy. Student: teacher ratio is so much satisfactory, each professor knows each student. The professors are mainly visiting professors from IIT Bombay, barc, tifr etc institutes.

I chose SSE over JGU without a doubt and have no regrets about the same. The course in JGU was new and interesting. I quite liked it but personally economics and "Symbiosis" appealed more to me.
