IIT Dhanbad Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

From the 7th semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements. All tech giant companies like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Deshaw, Sprinkler, and Atlassian visits our campus. The students are eligible for placement in their 7th semester. Companies start conducting online assessments from the month of July and interviews are scheduled in the month of December. Many companies visit our campus for placements including IT companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. and core related companies like Texas Instruments, Jaguar Land Rover, ONGC, etc. The placement stats of 2022 batch and 2023 batch was quite spectacular, the placement season of 2024 batch has taken a hit as this year many companies are not hiring and ones which are hiring, they have also decreased their numbers. Highest package offered is 89 lakhs by Atlassian for the software development profile. Average package is around 16.5 lakhs. By the end of placement season almost 90% students get placed and others opt for higher studies.

In 1st year there will be no branch wise classes all are combined and distributed into 8 classes.The first four classes will study one syllabus and reminaing four classes will study another syllabus.After that it will be exchanged.

The minerals and Metallurgical engineering program at IIT Dhanbad combines theory with practical applications. It covers mineral processing. extractive metallurgy, and materials science. Student gain hands-on experience throughlabs, projects, and research, preparing for careers in mining and metallurgy.

IIT Dhanbad has a strong placement record with top companies recruiting students. If campus placements aren't offered, students oftern pursue higher studies or secure job opportunities through off-campus drives, networking, or internships.

Paasion about electronics lead me to choose this course.simultaneousl labs will be conducted with theory lectures so that we can work on projects and gain hands on experience which is nessesary for industrial work. Examinations are not much frequent, mid and end examinations will be conducted for one semister mid will be in the mid of the semester and end examination will be at the end of the semester. Each exam will be of around 3 hour duration in end examination and 2 hour in mid examination, difficulty level is good some times

From 7 th semester, a student is eligible for placements. Most of high tech companies visit the campus along with core companies too and they provide a decent package ann a good number of students get placed each year with approx 70%.

Our college placements are very good though aren't that much good in current year because of recession . The average package is 14 lakh per annum . We have to sit for internship opportunities after our second year in month of july and for placements in december after seventh sem . I want to take a good placement and want to start my own start up after 2 , 3 years of placement.

PRE-FINAL YEARS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR INTERN AND FINAL YEAR FOR PLACEMENTS. MICROSOFT GOLDMAN ORACLE TEXAS ETC AND MANY OTHER COMPANIES VISIT THE COLLEGE. THE HIGHEST PACKAGE IS AROUND 60 LAKHS AND THE AVERAGE IS AROUND 14 LPA. PLACEMENT PERCENT IS HIGH. MY PLAN AFTER GETTING A DEGREE IS TO GETTING PLACED IN A GOOD COMPANY OF CORE.

The M.tech students are eligible for campus placement in 3rd semester. There are numerous companies visiting the campus and most of the students receive employment opportunities. The highest package in my department for m.tech student is 37 lpa by mathworks.more than 80 percent students have received placement for this season till now.
