IIT Dhanbad Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The placements are good if you compare them with other private colleges and it is okay if you compare them with old IITs. From semester 7 onwards students become eligible for campus placements. The companies which visited are Google Microsoft Jio etc. The highest package this year is 1cr per annum average package is about 20to30lpa. The percentage of students getting placement is about 70. I plan to get a good placement and do a job after my degree.

Every company has its own cutoff for CGPA for each student and according to the branch it is said most of the companies are open for the circle branches such as computer science and technology and electronics and electrical engineering while the lower branches get little opportunity branches like mechanical chemical have almost standing to no placement here but branches like petroleum have good placement in government field from this college.

The placement scenario at my college is good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester onwards. A wide variety of companies visit our campus, including ONGC, Cairn Oil and Gas, and many more. In the last placement season, the highest package offered was 51.03 lakhs per annum, and the average package was 18.15 lakhs per annum. The placement percentage was 88.61%. I am confident about my chances of getting placed after graduation. I have been preparing for campus placements since the beginning of my college.

On-campus placement rounds are held in the first semester of your final year. Many companies visit the campus for hiring including Schlumberger, ONGC, etc. According to 2023 placement data, 81.89% of students who applied for on-campus placement got placed. The average package was 16.9 lakh and the median was 13.6 lakh. The highest CTC offered was 55.7 lakh.

The Mining Engineering course at IIT ISM Dhanbad ranks 1 in India. This special fact opens up a nice enough choice for those students who just missed four digit rank in JEE Advanced because of a few silly mistakes(for the gen. category). The above two reasons mainly led me to choose IIT ISM Mining without regrets. There are a lot of vacant spaces for new professors, and the faculty: student ratio could be improved. Most faculties over here are highly qualified individuals irrespective of their teaching styles. I admit that the teaching methodology of some professors could be improved, but when it comes to the things under the control of college authority things were good enough. Exams were very timely, and most importantly adjustable as well, as per the needs of the students and professors. Passing was easy, whereas for 9+ CGPA efforts were needed.

The placement come in college in the 8th semister and the placement was good in my college all the companies visit in college and the maximum domestic package given by a company is 50 lac and the average package is 20 lac and the placement percentage is around 80.

For campus placement, only 4th-year students or we can say that 7th sem students have to register for it and their interview will happen when they are in 8th sem. And IIT is great in most of the branches. if you are a hardworking person you will confirm get a job.

As it's an old IIT, hence campus placements are awesome without any doubt. From the third year onwards the students are required to do internship programmes and it's college sponsored. Many bag PPO's during it, and generally, the placement starts from the beginning of the 4th year. This year 1049 job offers were given out of which 1014 were accepted, with an average package of 17.69lpa and a highest domestic package of 56lpa. Various top companies like Amazon, Uber, Barclays, Microsoft, Zomato, Unacademy, etc. visit and recruit from the campus. The college is famous for its placements in PSU's like ONGC, Coal India, GAIL, etc. and thus many students even got recruited there. My plans are not placement oriented, I want to go for higher studies or management studies.

Placement season starts in the month of October. The final-year students are eligible for the placements. Most of the students who join for summer internships would get the pre-placement offer. Other students can apply off campus.
