Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

All about NIT CALICUT

Likes

Campus life and culture and the faculties here
Campus environment and its fests and festivals are celebrated together.
Placements are good and internships offers are also made.

Dislikes

Not much area in the campus. Most of the area are unused or type is barren.
Girls to boys ratio is very bad here. So try to add more girls
There are only 2 buses from mega boys hostel to campus. Need to increase the number of bus.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students can be eligible for placements. Many companies visited and many offers were made. Almost above 90% students were placed. Highest package was 67 LPA and average is 20 LPA. My plan after getting a degree is if i get the good package i will accept it. Else will go for higher studies.

Benefits and dark side of NITC

Likes

Sports,clubs, committees along with studies
Good placements.100%students placed from cse

Dislikes

Placements are decreasing year by year.so far
There are protests going on nowadays which is not good

Placements in campus are good.from semester 5 students can apply for internships.the average package of a computer science student is 12lakh per annum.highest package is 40lakh per annum this year.my branch has 100% placements

Overall, NIT Calicut provided a fulfilling experience. Liked: Comprehensive curriculum, supportive faculty, vibrant campus life.
So much freedom for both boys and girls, so many clubs , committees, workshops to enjoy and work ourself to the finest make ourself a complete engineer.
The main part is about the fests, which are super awesome in which we can showcase talent , dance , singing and some well known artists come up with their trending songs, theres so many food stalls which will fill ur thirsty throat and empty stomach

Dislikes

Its about the hostel which is placed away for the second years and third years although the buses are available , cant really take advantage
Its about the girls boys ratio, very less number of girls , they shoyld increase the number of seats for the girls
Different faculty for the same branch, which we can tell it as a biased but nevermind its always the night before the exams so no worries

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester. Companies like Microsoft, Google visit offering high packages. Avg package is decent. Around 80% students get placed. If not, I plan to pursue higher studies or explore job opportunities.

Campus Freakness

Likes

Freedom- This is a diverse college with many residents of India
Clubs - Non technical clubs conducts many events
Couples- Couples and friends can roam freely

Dislikes

Politics - many outside politics takes place in campus
CANTEENS- canteens change every two months

Placement Experience:

Placements are not up to level this year Due to recession previously it was good though, CSE students are 100 percent placed , Next ECE is highest, Many companies visit during placement season and Placement cell takes care of it

Likes

Management is very efficient if you are unhappy about something you can complaint they will take quick action.
Saftey around the campus is good girls can roam without any fear in late nights also.

Dislikes

There is too much state politics going around the college.
There is slight clash between home state students and other state students.
You have to climb a big slope to reach the campus if you are staying outside.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placement.NIT Calicut placement 2023 saw the participation of 197 companies recruiting a total of 1144 students. The institute also conducted a summer internship for 2023 graduates. A total of 329 students got placed including 227 students from undergraduate programs. Companies like Accenture, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs come in tech and in core L&T, Birla, JSW , TVS. Highest package is 47 LPA and average is around 13. I want to do MBA after this.

Likes

Greenery: campus is completely of greenery.it is so soothing to eyes
Freedom : freedom to speak,freedom to live on our legs,and campus helps to learn so many things
Cultural events: three day cultural fest ragam is most liked

Dislikes

Language problem: as I'm from Telangana, language barrier is most problematic
Difficulty of course: as syllabus is more number of classes are more
Wifi issue in hostel : internet is slow in hostels

Placement Experience:

After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement , Amazon, microsoft, many more companies visit .in cse 100 percent of students get placed ,in all other branches almost 80 percent of students are placed

Likes

We'll learn to be independent by learning by ourselves.
We can involve in various fests and develop ourselves. We can join in various clubs and comittes making ourselves busy.
Here because of the faculty, we can gain interest in ourselves and the way they teach is impressive.

Dislikes

Having the maximum percentage of attendance for eligibility of writing exams
Having more classes everyday and not able to shift to another faculty
Meetings that continues for a long time including academics and events too

Course Curriculum Overview:

Here the course faculty is such that they will teach us how to learn ourselves by reading various books. I'm Interested in circuits and coding, so I chose this course. The teaching staff will always be available for every 30 students. There will be one mid semester exam and one end semester exam followed by quizes for every subject including projects and lab project works.

Full of trees and weather is moderate I.e Greenary
Many tourist spots around the campus
Placements are good and at par with competitors

Dislikes

More assignments, records and academic related works
Bad infrastructure I.e old and rustic buildings
Basic needs are not available in hostel sometimes

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculty student ratio is good and course evaluation is like 30% continuous evaluation 30% maximum and 40% is end sem. Also faculty are highly qualified but the teaching method is not upto the mark. Also labs, assignments and records might seem hectic.

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
