Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

My view of my college

Likes

College playground gym and equipment provided
Campus Design and infrastructure is way more beautiful
Campus is exactly attached to a small town where everything is available and also connected to national highways

Dislikes

Campus is like pieces cut off into many parts
Food inside the campus is boring like I feel
All the buildings are older than I thought

Placement Experience:

The compines visit our campus are Microsoft Amazon Google TCS Infosys Tesla mahindra swiggy Zomato and ola uber and many other companies the highest package was 67.9 lakhs per annum alomst most of the students get placement

The NITC overview

Likes

Faculty of our department , who are very much interactive
The campus nature is very pleasent and it's green everywhere
The food is very unique and we can find different tastes

Dislikes

This is also food, some foods are not at all good
I didn't like the infrastructure, which is very old

Placement Experience:

Students from semester 7 are eligible for placements. Companies like Oracle, DE Shaw, others visited the college. They offer like average of 12-15 lakhs . The highest package is of around 60 Lakhs. Around 70 percent students are placed. My plan is to study for Group 1 exams

Basic needs are Fulfilled

Likes

Placements are good and compete with competitors
Fests are celebrated in large scale namely Tathva and Ragam
Nearby, there are many tourist spots to visit.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is very poor when compared to other institutions
Basic hostel facilities are not fulfilled in new hostels
Huge politics in campus and Ragging is also there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum is old but now it is updated. Faculty: Student Ratio is good. Faculty Qualification is good and teaching is average same as many other institutions There will a continuous evaluation of 30 percentage and mid sem of 30 and end sem 40 percentage approximately but varies with course. It is not hard to pass but hard to score distinction

Environment is good.Weather is also good.
Near by attractions are many.Enjoyed with friends
Faculty Advisors are good and friendly with us.

Dislikes

Placements opportunities, companies not hiring.
Mess food is not good ,hostel fee has been increased.

Placement Experience:

From 7th students are eligible for Full time placements.Many companies have visited.Highest package is 32.average is 9 as of now.Only 80 are placed among 200 as of now.percentage is very low compared to previous years.Its very sad that we are not getting opportunities and companies are not hiring massively.my plans after this is trying for government jobs.

Good teaching and good faculty and they teach very well .
We had central library it has very cool and plesent atmosphere .
Our campus NIT Calicut provides good placements .

Dislikes

Ragging in campus. And student politics.
Need to Improve transport facility in the campus
Hostel fees is very heigh it is not worth for food

From 6th semester students become eligible for placements .Other companies that visit NIT Calicut include: D. E. Shaw, Salesforce, Goldman Sachs, TI, Qualcomm, Oracle, Cisco, Atlassian, SAP Labs. In 2023, the average salary package offered by top companies was INR 14.29 LPA, with a highest package of INR 47 LPA.

College in God's own Country

Likes

I liked the college because it's in one of my favourite place Kerala
Campus Life is also good, you can really find yourself in very good vibe
Courses from last year have been changed and from first year onwards you will be studying department wise.

Dislikes

College is dominated with malyalee students, obviously as it is their home state but you can also see huge telugu population.
Infrastructure is little old and campus is in hilly region.

Placement Experience:

Placements in my college are okay , but this year it seems to be a big drop in placement percentage and even in average package compared to previous years , the situation is like how it used to be some 6-7 years back. From 7th semester you will be eligible for campus placements

My life in my college

Likes

College environment is the one of my favourite things in this college.
Faculty in my Branch are the friendliest teachers among any other branches.
Friends we made here are the best for making memories

Dislikes

Hostel administration often takes fine from all 3000 people for even a small damage.
Meal quality some times are worst compared to other days
Distance between Hostel and classrooms are far

Placement Experience:

The campus has a big range of Placements. Every year students get placed in many companies. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Intel, TI, PG, Oracle, etc are big targets for students. They give opportunities to all eligible students. The highest package is around 50-55 lakhs per annum. The average is 12-14 LPA. 60 percent of students get placed in each branch. I aim to go for an IT sector job. for that, I need to get placed in a well-reputed company first.

Placement Experience:

Placements are quite good at this college. Nearly 8lakhs per annum is the average package here for all branches. While it comes to ece branch. 13 lpa is the average package. Internships are also provided.

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
