Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

The fact

Likes

The way of freedom they give for the students is very good
The teaching way of style here is awesome
Sports complex is available her and the equipment too

Dislikes

There is a problem in maintaining the hostel
Less canteens available in the campus and night mess is not available
Bus availability should be more because there is lot of rush

Placement Experience:

Actually according to my knowledge, I think the placement starts from 3 Rd year ending and continue upto 4 th year final and a person can wait until he get his desired job and the intern for the students starts inbetween 2 nd and third year around 30 percent of the students are selecting for this

Good and bad things about NITC

Likes

Hostel facilities are good . Classrooms are also good.
Opportunity for students to be in sports is good and I like it
Our college fests are the best in south as per my knowledge

Dislikes

Water facility here is too bad. Drinking water is not that much good.
We are facing a slight discrimination as we are non natives
The way of teaching by the faculty members is not effective. It needs to be improved

Placement Experience:

After 3_ 2 students are eligible to take part in placement opportunities. Number of visiting companies depend on the branch in which we are. Generally most of the companies recruite the students who knows coding. Average package is around 10 lakhs.

the campus has a very good infrastructure and very good and peaceful environment which will be liked by everyone
campus also gives us much freedom and good academics which will help every one and increase the interest on the subject and help the students
The campus supports sports and extracurricular activities which is very good and appriciable.they organise everything so that we cannot get any problem in our academics due to this

Dislikes

campus containes some old buliding which are not safe to use and i feel they have to also build some new buildings
campus hostels contain some water proble which i think they have to solve it as soon as possible
campus transport facility are not up to the mark they have to upgrade it so that every on is comfortable

Placement Experience:

the placements in our college is good.from 6th sem students are eligible for the placements and by every means we say taht you can get a campus placement for sure and off campus placements are also available which are full supported by the managements.some big companies like oracle visited our campus and they practically select some students every year confirmly.

I choose ECE because I'm very much interested in microprocessor design. Coming to faculty, all members are well prepared and completed their Phd.Each sem would be atmost 4 to 5 months and one midterm and end sem exams will be conducted each sem.

Your senior's point of view

Likes

Good atmosphere and pleasant climate in the campus. Greenery in the campus.
Best campus life with very good fests and events. Well organisation of events.
Library is very good and very well equipped labs with good faculty.

Dislikes

The infrastructure in the campus should be improved .
The hostel amenities should be improved providing wifi and hot water.
Campus transportation should be improved and availability of canteens also should be improved

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this cource according to my score in jee . The faculty here are very well trained and PhD scholarship. The teaching methods of the faculty are very effective and gives us an insight clarification about the course. There are one mid semester exams and one end semester exams for each semester.

My thoughts on NITC

Likes

The first thing which I like here is the hostel
The next thing I like here is college atmosphere here it is very cool and pleasant
The main reason I like here is study and placements in this campus are really good

Dislikes

Network problem, no signal and no wifi available
The next thing I dislike is water problem in mega hostels
The next thing I dislike is infrastructure and transportation between college and hostel

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I like electronics. The faculty is good and they have a good experience. Many of our faculty are PhD scholars. Our faculty teaching method is simply superb. Every 4 months, we had semester exams, it was not hard to pass.

A student's point of view

Likes

Campus Life - I loved it cause I've never experienced it before. And there are all the opportunities to do anything we want.
Clubs and events- I'm a member of a cultural club and an association member. So I'm loving that experience and got to learn a lot.
Sports - There are a lot of sport opportunities and I'm into cricket and I'm loving it.

Placement Experience:

Intern interviews and exams generally happen during end of 4th and start of 5th semester, the selected students can get a pre placement offer I they are worthy. Or the placements generally happen during 7th and 8th sem. There are so many core and software companies visited our campus like Texas instruments, Qualcomm, samsung, Bosch...and Microsoft, Google, Intel etc. Highest package till now is 63lpa, overall average is around 13lpa. And almost 93% of students gets placed. I want to get into m.tech

Pros and cons of NITC

Likes

I like the nature over here and the campus life is good
Good facilities like CCC(where we have computers) are provided for students to study
Our classes are good and sanitation is good in hostels

Dislikes

The way of teaching by lecturers is not much affective

Curriculum is good .The teaching skills need to be improved.Faculty members need to give their best to the students.All faculty members did their p.h.d's from IIT's.We will be having one mid sem and one end sem within a span of 4 months.

Nitc things

Likes

I would like classes the most as they were peaceful to sit in
Kho kho ground is good as I was a player in that game
Hostel rooms are good and they are peaceful and have a good view when viewed from the window

Dislikes

Maintanence of 80% percentage attendance
Not allowing personal vehicles of students near college premises
No proper travel facility from hostel to campus

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from the 7 th sem. Many major companies visit the campus for example Amazon Cisco Oracle and so on.many offers were given to students. The highest package offered was 48 lakhs and average package of campus is 8 lakhs. 92 percent of students get placed in the campus

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
