Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

Likes

Cultural fests ragam is the best in whole south indian fests.
Well Maintenance, neat good and cleanliness. Greenery everywhere
Technical fest thathva is second to ragam

Dislikes

Placements are terrible this year due to recession.
Mess food is kerela style which other state people dislike mostly.
Very humid and hot, water scarcity in summer

Placement Experience:

Placements are terrible as it is recession period. Last year it was good. Average package was 10-12. But this year it is 7 and company visits are less this year and hiring is decreased by almost 70%.

Technical and cultural fests are too good.
Sports and cultural activities are so enjoyable
I got good friends.They are kind to me so I enjoyed

Dislikes

No proper placements due to recession which is too sad
I was unable to adjust to the food here.
Due to covid we didn't spend much time in campus

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year students are eligible for internships.Many top companies are coming and offers are decent.But now many companies are not coming due to recession.Many people are getting placed.Placemets rate is comparatively good.There is decent amount of salary offering by companies.I plan on pursuing masters.I am writing GATE. About 80% are getting placed.

Cleanliness the workers are very dedicated they fix most of the issues fast
Vast campus to roam good for walking nice exercise
Projects we did atleast one mini project in our semester it is really helpful for the resume

Dislikes

Many things starting with less availability of buses to campus, small buildings ,worst infrastructure of the classrooms, no AC but it is like die situation in kerela due to hotness
Food the mess food is not that great same menu for most of the days
Few washrooms in hostel for the whole floor we have only like 4 washrooms

Placement Experience:

Last year the hiring for our seniors was very good for our year they are taking a really less people so most of the students are kinda depressed about employment. Our placement hr is not that good with dealing with the companies as heard from the tumors as he is new so he is having a trouble to negotiate with the companies. Right now less than 50% of students are placed

A peek into NITC

Likes

Qualification of teachers, most the teachers have a PhD
There are a lot of trees all across the campus. The campus is relatively cool even through the surrounding area are really hot
The placement drive is well organised and has a wide reach

Dislikes

The mess system is outdated and the quality of food provided is average at best
The hostel facilities could be made better
The geography of the campus is such that, there's a need for frequent transport. Students are not allowed to open motor powered vehicles and bus service is limited

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are offered to students from the end of 3rd year. A huge numbers of companies take part in the placement. These placements are easily available to the students. The pay is slightly above the average pay. Most of the students who participate in the placement drive get placed.

Story of nitc students

Likes

The campus is full of trees and all, it's good and greenery everywhere
The events which are conducted here are quite good.
Ambulance service to the hostel in case of emergency at any time.

Dislikes

No proper support for the sports department
Food tastes soo bad, better to cook yourself
There will be some domination the home state students

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester you'll be eligible for campus placements. Companies like Amazon, Google, Infosys and much more visited. Regarding the no of offers I don't know the exact figures. Highest pakage was 50LPA and the average was 12LPA. Almost 90% of the total students get placed. I plan on going for higher studies after my graduation.

My experiences in NIT CALICUT

ampus atmospher is very good as it is sometimes rainy and sometimes it is a cool weather. Amphitheatre is one of my favorite place which gives a pleasant feeling to the people whoever spebds time at there.
The campus looks very beautiful with tress and roaming around the campus is very nice.oat is anthoer place where many people go and discuss about studies and all .it is helpul for conducting events as it is very spacious.
Creative zone is aplace where people expresses their new ideas and also spends time with friends .some clubs conducts events at there and have fun . basketball court is place where i go to play and have some relief from my stress.

Dislikes

Rajpath is a place where crow shit happens in our campus . crow shit is very common in our campus it was very disgusting . whenever we go to the campus atleast one person will have to face the crowshit .
infrastruce of the campus is good some parts of our campus are very old like they look very old and sometimes it looks like the walls of those building may fall down.remaining everything was ok for us.
those are the only things which i didnt like in our campus remaining everything is ok with us. in fact our campus infrastruce is good and because of the long tress and the garden area campus looks very beautiful

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have applied for cse and ece courses but according to my JEE rank i have got selected for ece course.tFaculties teaching was good and everyone lecturer tries to make the student get everying clearly and the exam pattern is somewhat difficult but it can be managable.

Students are eligible for internships after their 2nd year summer holidays. Many companies approach our college for both internships and placements. We have a high placement ratio. The average package is around 13 lpa while the highest package is around 70 lpa

Real face of Nit Calicut

Likes

College location climate is good greenery which makes us to feel like home
Good and experienced faculty . They guide students well
We have different playgrounds for different sports

Dislikes

No wifi connection in hostels and no hot water
Not all faculty are well trained enough to teach
No proper bus route facility distance from hostel to classroom is more

Since my childhood I had interest in construction field that's why I choose civil engineering over other branches Faculty are good well trained Some of the faculty are not explaining the topics well Faculty are wantedly making students fail

Some good stories of nitc

Likes

South indias biggest technical fest conducted at nitc that is known as tathva
And my friends changed my btech life in beautiful way
Kerala has mesmerizing greenery in our surroundings

Dislikes

Food is adjustable for non malayalis for other state people like Andhra they should adjust
Nitc has old infrastructure that should be renewal that will attract students .
Changing canteens temporarily which makes students to face problem

Placement Experience:

Student from semester seven can sit for placement in our college. Companies like Oracle, Bajaj etc visited our college. The highest package was around 60Lakhs and the average is around 12 lakhs Around 60- 70 percentage of students are getting placed.

Short trip over NITC

Likes

Sports facilities and tournmaents such as inter nit, inter branch, inter department
Campus life with friends and curriculum followed here.

Dislikes

Worst thing here is faculty is they are not good as expected
Transport problem from hostel to the classes
Lack of combined activities to make the student to interact more with each other

Placement Experience:

From the third year it self student scan applications for placement, and internships. Many companies visit here like Tata, tcs, Texas instruments, Wipro, LT and more. Last year in ece it was 36 lakh per anum is the highest and with average of around 20 lakh. I am planning to write a gate exam and get into an IIT for further studies.

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
