Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

Likes

Hostels are quite good.many places are there to hang out.

Dislikes

Hostel food is not so good.you will face food related diseases

Placement Experience:

In third year companies start visiting the campus.placements are quite good here and packages are also quite descent only if you maintain the cgpa required from our branch there is 80% placement ratio.

Likes

campus and infrastructure.mainly greenary
Good pears and faculty are very good and approachable
Clubs and priority for cultural activities is appreciable

We don't know when it's rains so always carrying a umbrella is tiresome

From 5th semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements .A good no of core and it companies are visited like Amazon ,L&T ,Infosys,ms etc .. above 65-70% students are get placed during college placements .the average package is 14.5 lakh per annum.and the highest so far is 47 lakh per annum .I want to pursue masters after getting the degree

Likes

In NITC seniors are very helpful. They will help you in every situation.
Environment is very good at NITC . Many plants and trees are there.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is not as much good as we expect.
The food is not very good. You have to compromise with it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

• I'm very interested in this course that's why I chose this course. This is very respected course too. • Faculty: student ratio is quite good ????. There are many faculty members are available for your course. • All the faculty members are well educated and experienced. All are well qualified and way of teaching is also very good. • Examination are there in every 1.5 months and it's not too difficult to pass.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies visit the college for chemical engineering such as Exxon Mobil, ONGC, Hindustan Uniliver limited in the core sector , whereas companies like Capegemini, Deloitte , Oracle hire from non core sector .Maximum offers made were 70 for 2022. The average package is 9.9 lpa and the highest package was offered by Oracle for 2023 which was around 30 lpa. 86% of students got placed .I plan to go for MS in a foreign university or MBA in IIM.

Faculties and their teaching style and interaction with students
Sports culture and support for the students to take part in various events

Hostel are very old and not meet our expectations
Fees is increasing slowly sem by sem causing problems

After completion of sixth semester student can sit for placement drive in this college. Highest package was 50 lakh . The average package is 12 lakh . Nearly 80 percentage students get placed.My plan is to get a good placement

NIT Calicut diary by an average student

I liked the diversity of the students in the college and the pleasant and friendly nature shown by everyone.
The greenery and cool atmosphere around the campus , for a nature loving person the atmosphere in the college and around it is suitable.
I liked the facilities provided in the campus and the high quality education given.

Dislikes

I disliked the problem of language barrier outside the college , it is difficult to communicate with the locals
I did not like the swimming pool of the college , it did not meet my expectations of a swimming pool in the campus.
The college is too far from the city and it takes around an hour ride to reach the city, bus transport facility is too crowded.

Placement Experience:

The placements are very good in the college as it is a tier 1 NIT. The students become eligible for placements from the end of 6th semester. More than 250 companies visited the campus and more than 1000+ offers were given to the students. The highest package was 50 lakhs given by a multinational company, and average was 14.36 lakhs. More than 80% of students got placed in the college. I plan to do MBA after my B-tech degree from an IIM

Likes

Campus life is amazing and fellow students are very friendly
The campus is clean and well maintained .

Dislikes

The first year rooms are a bit poor condition

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well balanced so that students will not feel pressurised.They have a great set of faculties who helps us with any concepts.They have dedicated departments for physics,maths and chemistry.Termly exams had good standard questions which some may face difficulty.

MY LIFE AT NITC

Likes

Campus life, faculty and Course were the top favourites of mine
The amazing night life of nitc and the availability of a nearby airport and railway station makes it much easier to travel back home

Dislikes

Sometimes hate the mess food quality since it has caused some major issues in the hostel

Placement Experience:

I do not have much information about placements ans did not provide much heed to it as i plan further to achieve my masters degree after BTECH. there are usually companies like exxon amazon google infosys reliance axis bank etc

Some Hostel need some serious renovations
Being at remote location less accessibility for popular chains

Placement scenario is good in the college with avg. Package around 15 lacs. Students become eligible for placements after 6th semester. Highest package laste year was 88 lpa. My plans are either getting good placement or higher studies after getting degree.

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
