Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

The main issue of the compus is raining .
Lack of girls actually the ratio of boys and girls is 4 : 1
The painting of road due to crow and birds duty .

On the basis of my rank in jee mains I was abble to get ECE branch and that is the reason I took it. Each and every faculty use there time in the right way and give us guidlines about the course and outcomes. The ratio of faculty and students is 1: 20.

Infinite reasons for choosing NIT Calicut

Likes

Fantastic college life:Lots of programs and cultural events make you more confident and helps in your character building.
High quality teaching:Professor are highly qualified and provide rigorous knowledge for the respective subjects.
Sports facilities:There are lots of sports facilities including cricket, tt, lawn tennis, hockey, football, kabaddi, kho kho and many more

Dislikes

Lack of girls 😅: I personally feel there is a shortage of girls.
Walking distance:You have to walk long distances
Raining:It's raining here almost for six months. You are gonna be annoyed by this.

From 6th semester onwards students can be placed. Last year almost 130 companies visited and gave almost 1000 job offers. Highest package was 52 lpa and lowest was 6 lpa. Almost 90 percent students get placed. I will go for placement.

NIT CALICUT at a glance !

I liked the location of nit Calicut as it is located on the western coast.
Culture of nit Calicut is also very impressive.
No ragging. As I heard during my preparation that I'm every college seniors take ragging of juniors but in nit Calicut I didn't saw any of such activity

Dislikes

Language barrier. Anywhere, I go like at stores,on bus or at city I have a trouble in talking to people.
Sudden rain. Although weather is very good in this region but unpredicted rain causes me a lot of troubles.
Connectivity. Connectivity of nit Calicut is not too good and for me it's more worse. There is no direct train for me to reach my home directly,I need to change train in midway in order to go home.

From the 6th or 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. There are lot of companies around 200 that visits our college and gives a lot of offers around 1200. Highest package stood at 50 lpa and average package stood at 15 lpa.Almost 90 percent of students got placed. After getting the degree I have a simple plan of taking a job.

Faculty, most faculty are trying there best to reach.. But not successful
Infrastructure is poor.. It still holds old buildings

From S5 onwards internships starts. From S7 people can sit for placement. Famous companies like oracle, google etc come to nitc for placement. Nitc provide 100%placement. Average salary package is above 10 lakh per year

dislike at nit calicut include occasional campus maintainence issue affective infrastructure
some fined faculty student communication challenging. placements uncertainities for specific courses are a concern
limited off campus recreational options impact campus life . a few find certain course curricula less engaging.

Nit calicut placement commence from the seventh semester .renowned companies like microsoft ,amazon and more recruit,offering diverse rules . highest package exceeds inr 40lpa.while average is around inr10lpa. high placement percentage .after my degree,i asspire to perssue masters or enter the industry.

As a freshie i don't know much about the placement scenario.but as a top tier nit you can expect a decent number of placement at decent companies.most of the student get placed. From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement

I like the campus so much the its so refreshing
The placement are so good a jib is confirmed if you perform average
the campus is located near the city it is good

Dislikes

Hostel food is not that good it cause some trouble
A lot of crows are here every time we get out crows shit on us
We done have a swiming pool that is so bad for a campus like nitc

From third year onwards students become eligible for campus placements Microsoft, Google,D. E. Shaw, Salesforce, Goldman Sachs, TI, Qualcomm, Oracle, Cisco, Atlassian, SAP Labs Almost 90 percentage students get placed

Likes

Hostel Life, classrooms , Faculty, Campus
Night curfew at first was a bit early but then lengthened.
Library facilities, computer center where you can study.

Dislikes

Library gates were closed and a bit distant.
Some canteens were closed which were good places to enjoy.
Mess preference.Should have allowed us to chose which ever mess we wanted

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are many eligible faculties who are teaching in nitc. Term exams will be at the end of semester.There will be internal exams,lab exams, projects, lab viva , assignments and end semester exams. Overall better.

Dislikes

Campus was very old and it was built in 1960
In nit Calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing I really hatred
In nit Calicut sem exams are very difficult to write

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements Oracle,Microsoft,Bosch, reliance,Google,etc Oracle gives 36 lakhs per annum In case highest package is 56lpa Percentage of students getting placements is 70-80 percent My plan is doing a software job

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
