Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

I like the placements of college which is very nice
I like the campus life campus is very green full
I like the professor and staff faculties they are very helpful

Dislikes

I disliked the mess food for vegetarian very less choice
I dislike the 4 occupancy rooms it can be 2 seater or 3
I dislike the 80% attendance criteria it may have 75%

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are quite amazing with having a average package of overall 14.8 lpa student are eligible for campus placement after 6th semester the percentage placement is around 90 overall and for cse it is around 98 percentage

Likes

Good infrastructure and faculty. Events conducted in college.
The cultural fest ragam which is conducted every year
Technical fest thatva which is conducted every year

Dislikes

Mess food in the Hostel is not good enough
The strict rules and regulations in the college

After semester 6 students are eligible for placements. Companies like TVS ,Voltas ,Microsoft, Samsung, and many companies visited campus. The highest package is 49 lakh per annum CTC and average package is around 15 lakh per annum CTC

Nitc - Vibrant

Likes

I like the peoples in nitc. Very energetic
The fest and programs conducted in college is very great
Sport and other club activities really great

Dislikes

I didn't like egos of some faculties . They are very narrow minded
I didn't like the fee structure.thats very heptic for me
And enough vacations are not there.i think more leave should be there

Placement Experience:

After 5 th sem students can sit for placements. Lots of companies like Google , Microsoft,apple,tata etc Are comming to the campus They are making (avg )about 700 number of offers. Highest salary package in mechanical is 50 lakh last year 97 percentage students are placed last year My plan is to get placed in a core

A Underrated College worth it's Hype and Calibre

Place and Topography of college. Being located in Kerala I would say this is one of the most beautiful NIT in India
Helpful and Top Notch faculties who are kind of strict but still they themselves give their best for students good
Good Campus life with plenty of opportunities and lots of club for varied talents

Dislikes

Academic burden is an issue here along with 80% attendance
South Indian cuisine might not help the rest 50% of Non Malayalam Students Along with Language barrier and college being far from home for many students
This college might not be suitable for some students who are not much indulged or interested in academics as the burden here is immense with strict course policies

Placement Experience:

Excellent placement and internship facilities as the faculties here tried their best to provide the best stage for students, the Centre of Career Development is a department which works on the elevation of placements too. We recently saw a jump of average package of civil department from 7.5LPA to 8.75LPA in an year with a good median salary provided.

Selection of the subjects for the courses.

Course Curriculum Overview:

computer scince has the most placements and best scope.there are over 50 facualties just for computer science and engineering. Most of the facualty are phd holders.the exams are of varyuing difficlties,they might not neccessarily be lengthy questions,but they are tricky questions.

--Overview Of Nitc--

Likes

Fests are great over there and I like them the most
Sports activities are great they will train you to inter nit games
Atmosphere is nice with trees and more greenery

Dislikes

Hostel curfew for 1st year students is irritating there
Hostel food . We cannot say it's too bad but for the money we paid it's not worth that's it
Availability of badminton courts are less

Placement Experience:

From 7 th semester students are eligible for placement . Idk much about placements but average placement salary of our branch in our institute is nearly 1900000. It's great to have average salary greater than 1l per month

Campus is lush green campus. So you get environmental friendly campus. And almost every month you will get to enjoy some events.
Classrooms are also well built with different type of infrastructure
You will get to meet people from all over india and even from country like Bangladesh

Dislikes

Curfew for 1st year students. It will be removed only after 1st sem

Placement Experience:

PPO is offered in 3rd year.And almost all of eligible students get placed. Placement for CSE department is awesome with 100% placement and average salary of 22 lakh. Highest package offered in 2023 was 47 lakh. Average package of college is over 13 lakh.

Infrastructure here is too good huge campus spread over 360 hectare
Faculties are also good very friendly and supportive
Campua offers better placements with good salary packages

Placement Experience:

It depends on your skills from 5th semester onwards you are eligible There is 100 percent placement for most of the branches Highest package is upto 50 lakhs per annum And average is around 12 lakhs per annum

The campus life, wide scope to do many things you like, interacting with different genius minds however I am far from home so just miss that as I can't go home even in this 11 days Winter break but this is in the 1st year only.
The life here is good that you can explore.
If you are from North India and have never visited south India then also it can be a good way of doing that here are too many things to explore.

Placement Experience:

Our College placement are good im themselves the avreage package for the CSE last time was 22LPA. From the 5th semester you shoould atfirst go fot the internships and later after the 6th semester you can sit for the placements. Companies like Google,Saleforce,Qualcomm,Micron,Samsung,HCL,Tata Motors etc have visited NITC and students got placed in these companies actually these are just a few of them almost 200 companies have visited and got satisfied with the students they met here.

Calicut short review

Likes

The furniture, classrooms were really polished
Atmosphere,vibe , attitude of faculty members
Vibrant fests, programs and activities every day

Dislikes

Mess food wasn't upto mark for first year
There are only four european closets per floor for first years
There is curfew for two whole semesters to prevent ragging

Eligibile for campus placement from 3rd year Computer students get to choose from wide range of companies average placement package being around 22lakh for 2023 and the High package of 44.5 lakhs. Almost 100% computer students get placed

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
