Likes

Placements are good but in this year due to recession there is decreased in placements . offers are good and there will good number of companies visited .
The faculty of indian institute of technology bhubaneswar are highly qualified faculty with phd the professors are really amazing at teaching.
Tution fee is around 114000 scholarships like fee remission and merit based are available for all students undertakings like fest management and societies are present for those who are interested in extra curricular activities.

Dislikes

Probably i don't have much things to dislike here but still i find lot of difficulties which conveying anything to an odia people.
The criteria of 75 percent attendance. this is the bitter truth that almost everyone hate this. but nobody can do anything right!
It's difficult a bit in cracking exam and 2nd year subjects need some more concentration to crack the exam.

Likes

I liked the hostel, the classrooms and the people.
The food is good, restaurants and cafes are nice, the sports facilities are quite good.
I like the professors they are very friendly.

Dislikes

The weather around that area is quite humid throughout the year.
It is very far from the main city and hence going out is not convenient.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 7th Semester and this year in the first ten days of the placement drive 210 offers were made, the highest package offered was 64lakhs and the mean package is of 19lakhs.

IIT - A Teenager's dream

Likes

I mainly liked the teachers friendly nature.
I liked the seniors who are really helpful for me in various situations
I also liked the no intime policy in campus.

Dislikes

Some of the incomplete infrastructure developments made me some bad.
Outside the campus the town is not good enough.
The distance between hostels and lecture halls are quite far which makes us a bit difficult to ride cycles in summers.

Placement Experience:

As it is an IIT the name itself is an assurance that will provide placements. The placement percentage in our campus is quite good with some decent average packages. Students will be made to sit in placements after the seventh semester.

Likes

The hostels are one of the best with single rooms and good internet facility.
The auditorium which is currently under construction looks great from outside.
The labs are well equipped and you will enjoy your time there.

Dislikes

The area over which it is spread is too much which requires much cycling.
Sometimes the semesters becomes hectic but not too much.
Food for vegetarian people is not as good as those for non-vegetarians.

The placement scenario is fine. In the end, it depends upon your handwork and skills. Students may opt to do higher studies in foreign countries or apply for gate exams. Internships are available from 3rd year for btech and 4th year for dual degree students.

Likes

The first thing which I like is the the big ground and the sakariya which is the student activities centre
The world class library facility with many books and also ebooks available

Dislikes

The most disliked is the matured it does not include the taste of the South Indian food
Many buildings like Auditorium are still under construction in the campus is still under construction

According to 2022, the highest was around 55LPA and the average was around 20LPA which is quiet. There are multiple MNCs that come to campus. The campus offers great opportunities to students. The percentage of students who got placed gradually increased year by year now its around 90%.l am planing to get a core job in Electrical.

My Journey

Likes

The Hostel room are good as it is single accomidation.
I like the greenary over here and the infrastructure.
The new classrooms here are quiet good which opened this year.

Dislikes

In LAB most of the equipments doesnt even work.
The mess food here is not that good it is managable.
The funding to the events here can be increased.

To my knowledge, I think the placements start at the end of 3rd year and in 4th year. Many big companies visit our college and a good number of offers are made. The highest package of 2022 was about 55 lakhs/annum and the average was around 20 lakhs /annum. The Percentage was around 80-90 percent. I plan to get a good-paying job and maybe further start a startup.

7th semester the students are eligible for placements. highest package is 55 lakhs and the Average package is 22 lakhs. Almost everyone gets placements here and plans for the future. Companies like Google, Amazon, etc come for placements here.

great and highly qualified faculty who have passion for their subject and area approachable
Good campus area and amenities to support the overall growth of the students
satisfactory organization of fests and events which breaks the monotony of campus life

Dislikes

Campus is located 20km away from the main city .
Betterment in the campus placement and internship drive
participation in outside competitions should also be increased

students are eligible for campus placements in their final year. Campus placements give you a good opportunity and many companies do visit the placement drive the highest package this year was 55 lpa on campus and the average was 17.6 lpa. you can also go for off-campus opportunities if you so desire.

First Year At IIT Bhubaneswar

Likes

The Students Activity Centre which has availability of lots of sports equipments and courts to play
The New Shopping complex that is built is quite wonderful
The combination of diverse students that are welcomed here.

Dislikes

Hostels cannot have Air Conditioning or cooler.
The roads are nice but are mostly uphill travelling area.
The summer of Bhubaneswar in which the weather can change in a very sudden and abrupt way

Placement Experience:

We are eligible for various internships from the very beginning of our first year and also the placement percentage is decent. I plan on getting decently placed and then joining a nice firm or getting a government job in this field after passing.

What is your review of Centre for Entrepreneurship, IIT Bhubaneswar?

The Centre of Entrepreneurship at IIT Bhubaneswar is pretty good and slowly developing. It was inaugurated on 20th June 2016 by Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar. The Department of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India sanctioned 1.50 Crore for the establishment of this canter. The vision behind the establishment of this startup center was to have an enrollment of a minimum of 10 startups in the 1st year of its commencement. The facilities provided at the Centre of Entrepreneurship are food court facility, lodging facility, working/office space, internet facility, electricity facility, laboratory facility, mentoring services, and seed grant maximum up to 2.5 lakh. For the selection procedure, initiation letters for opening startups are yet to be given. Form A is for individuals and teams and form B is for Registered Units Ancillaries and Subsidiaries of establishment Firms. This cell can prove to be a good initiative provided the management and faculty implement innovative ideas too. The highlight of this center is their conduction of Esummit. It is a two-day event which hosted lectures by eminent personalities across various domains. The Centre of Entrepreneurship also organized a workshop on “Funding Opportunities and Legal Aspects of Startups” on 9 April 2016.
