Placements are good but in this year due to recession there is decreased in placements . offers are good and there will good number of companies visited .
The faculty of indian institute of technology bhubaneswar are highly qualified faculty with phd the professors are really amazing at teaching.
Tution fee is around 114000 scholarships like fee remission and merit based are available for all students undertakings like fest management and societies are present for those who are interested in extra curricular activities.

Dislikes

Probably i don't have much things to dislike here but still i find lot of difficulties which conveying anything to an odia people.
The criteria of 75 percent attendance. this is the bitter truth that almost everyone hate this. but nobody can do anything right!
It's difficult a bit in cracking exam and 2nd year subjects need some more concentration to crack the exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Yeah it's good, course curriculum is very well designed for a students. No more stress/ pressure. They were lot of events, cultural programs etc. And we have 2 semesters in one yr. And the process is one mid-exams and end-exams. We have to get pass marks to eligible to nxt yr.

Hostel are very good. As it is a new iit , hostels are proper maintained and are hygenic. All the things provided in our rooms are great. I liked most is that only one student per room which deals with privacy of students.
Campus is very fun, entertaining. Clubs, fests and sports gave lot of friends, bonding. Meet many seniors, seniors became friends and enjoyed a lot of movements with them.
General championship is one key major advantage of campus life. Where there will be 8 team or branches fighting for the ultimate trophy. It is very fun filled and entertaining. It starts in mid march and continue till mid may.

Dislikes

Placements is one of the things I didnt like about my collage. Considering core placements of civil it was too bad even worse. Only 3 people got placed in core companies with highest of 9 lpa. With an IIT tag this was not expected from everyone.
I am a cricket player. I came to campus in my 2 yr due to covid and there was no proper cricket ground in our campus. IIT Bhubaneswar is a second generation iit, where as 3 generation iits have cricket ground.
Even auditorium and lecture halls were completed in 4th yr. Infrastructure is lacking. Not expected from a second generation IITS

Placement Experience:

Considering this year there was 50% drop in placements compared to 2022 due to rescission. Compared to 2022 same companies visited in 2024 with same salary and same roles but no of offers is 50% less. From 7th sem people are eligible to sit in placements. In our collage it will mostly occur from October to January ( most companies). For CSE or SES ( include cse,ee,ece) they get offers from big companies like microsoft, google, amazon, deshaw, oracle, zomato,etc. Highest package is given by oracle with 64LPA and average package of SES students was 18 LPA. Coming to NON SES ( civil, mechanical and metallurgy) highest package offered is 24 LPA by Goldmansacks. And the average is around 11 lpa. Cse and Ece mostly get placements so there percentage of placed student is above 97 and for elctrical it is 95. Coming to mechanical and metallurgy it is above 85 percent and civil with least placed percentage of above 75 percent. My plans was to get an PSU through GATE and to preapere for ESE.

Developing iit and it will be better in second generation iit

Hostel rooms sports facilities and hostel mess
Faculties will interactive with students very good and the culture was good
Environment in college with seniors are very good we can enjoy with them

Dislikes

Placements of core subjects was not good
The maximum placed around the hostel and academic building was with more grass and it was not good
The outing process was not good and it was allowed only for 1day to go out

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course was a civil engineering and it was a bit easily compared to other branches and I suggest that teaching should be some practical in such a way that they can take to construction site and explain to understand better. I rate 9/10.

December sees more companies visiting the campus for placements. Package averages is nearly 1800000 and median is 1500000 If not placed or not interested students option for msc,mna,upsc or gate and prepare accordingly

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and helps us to tackle practical situations, we also good faculty due to which the teaching is also. Exams are conducted twice in a semester, the difficulty level is around 8 out of 10.

I like my campus very much because they lot of free space and lot of freedom and there will be single rooms for everyone
The seniors and teachers are very good and interact with us very well
The club society and the fests are one of the most important things which I like

Dislikes

I don't like the food in the campus as Aldo I know that all the colleges are facing the same problem
The constructions of the college as not yet completed as our second generation IIT
Placements are not as good as a expected so as being an IIT that is one of the most depressing thing which avoid heard

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have a lot of interest in Civil engineering so I choose this branch.But the branch allotment will depend upon the rank we secured in the JEE advance examination. Our branch includes many type of subjects regarding the Civil such as a Highway engineering surveying etc and also there many more curriculum related to most important topics in civil reach includes soil mechanics foundation engineering and design of steel structures design of rainforest engineering etc

Inside the IIT bhubaneswar

Hostel rooms are good.I loved it because every individual has single room,so it gives us very much privacy.
Student activity centre. It is pretty good,the surroundings around it looks pretty good.
Free roaming .There won't be restrictions regarding roaming in the night time of the campus in the campus

Dislikes

Not many courses in our campus,only few choices are there to study.
Recent times the placements are becoming less in numbers which is a big concern for us
Mess food is not that much great.Its hard to eat in some days

Placement Experience:

Students are elligible to get campus placements from 7 th semester onwards. untill mid of 8th semester.Few students also got pre placement offers due the 6th semester summer vacation.those who got internships had a chance of getting pre placement offers. Accenture JAPAN (highest 42ctc, average18ctc) ,BPCL(highest 19.48 lpa and average 16lpa),HPCL(highest 16.97 lpa),jlr(highest 23.52lpa) ,Media.net(highest 39.31 lpa and average 18 lpa),Zomato(highest 52 lpa), MathWorks(highest 25.91lpa), Futures First(13.13 highest, average 10 lpa),tata steel( highest 12 lpa average 9 lpa), total of 80-90 offers are made and overall approximately 53% are placed. After my graduation I wanna work for 2-3 years and then go to higher studies.

Here accommodation is very good with better rooms
Here hostel fee is very less as compared to other colleges
The campus Life is good . Freedom for students is high

Dislikes

College rank is decreasing every year because of less development
The director here is frequently changing
As compared to other iits it is slowly developing

Placement is also very good in Indian institute of technology of bhubaneswar.As I am studying 3rd year here I am not yet placed . placement will takes place in 4th year.we will get offers from plenty of companies

Happy Engineering life

Likes

I like college weather, because campus is covered with full of greenary.
Hostel food menu was awesome.they provide special menu.
We will get every Saturday Sunday holiday. Outing system is good for local outing

Dislikes

Food quality is good but it doesn't make our Telugu style taste.
Hostel and classes are too long to travel, buses are available but sometimes buses are full rush.
Changing of hostels for every year. Every year we have to shift all the things to another hostel

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have intrest to learn CSE course.i have some knowledge about computer so I choose this course. IITs are the top colleges in india for btech course. Better you know your intrest and join courses because if you don't have interest in this course you can't able to complete course. So take your course which is intrested to you. In our campus faculty are very good there teaching skills are highly impressive. All the faculty are highly educated.

My opinion on IIT BBS

Likes

The fests and societies are very enjoyable and fun
Seniors interaction with juniors in academic problems

Dislikes

The student organisation Gymkhana is like monopoly organisation
Campus doesn't support fests , they are run by students themselves
Infrastructure is incomplete, Auditorium has been under construction and completed recently

The Centre of Entrepreneurship at IIT Bhubaneswar is pretty good and slowly developing. It was inaugurated on 20th June 2016 by Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar. The Department of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India sanctioned 1.50 Crore for the establishment of this canter. The vision behind the establishment of this startup center was to have an enrollment of a minimum of 10 startups in the 1st year of its commencement. The facilities provided at the Centre of Entrepreneurship are food court facility, lodging facility, working/office space, internet facility, electricity facility, laboratory facility, mentoring services, and seed grant maximum up to 2.5 lakh. For the selection procedure, initiation letters for opening startups are yet to be given. Form A is for individuals and teams and form B is for Registered Units Ancillaries and Subsidiaries of establishment Firms. This cell can prove to be a good initiative provided the management and faculty implement innovative ideas too. The highlight of this center is their conduction of Esummit. It is a two-day event which hosted lectures by eminent personalities across various domains. The Centre of Entrepreneurship also organized a workshop on “Funding Opportunities and Legal Aspects of Startups” on 9 April 2016.
