Placements are good but in this year due to recession there is decreased in placements . offers are good and there will good number of companies visited .
The faculty of indian institute of technology bhubaneswar are highly qualified faculty with phd the professors are really amazing at teaching.
Tution fee is around 114000 scholarships like fee remission and merit based are available for all students undertakings like fest management and societies are present for those who are interested in extra curricular activities.

Dislikes

Probably i don't have much things to dislike here but still i find lot of difficulties which conveying anything to an odia people.
The criteria of 75 percent attendance. this is the bitter truth that almost everyone hate this. but nobody can do anything right!
It's difficult a bit in cracking exam and 2nd year subjects need some more concentration to crack the exam.

Life Experiences at IIT Bhubaneswar

Likes

I liked overall atmosphere with friends involving classes, nice Infrastructure, sports facilities etc..
Teaching facilities were also very good and the course plan is also very nice
Clubs and societies involved were also very active.

Dislikes

Campus is very far from city, no good restaurants near.
There were no proper senior junior interactions.
There were no efficient grounds for sports like cricket

Placement Experience:

Placements were okay for our branch, upto ninety percent of the students will generally be placed in various companies that come for campus placements, from 7th semester onwards students were eligible for placement. Companies visited were like Oracle, de shaw, brane , Zomato etc.. Offers were like on average one company will take upto 10 members from the branch

A good Campus and Hostel life, with above average placement scenario

Likes

Good Hostels, Good campus life, peaceful and clean environment, lush green campus
Good sports facilities, even though they are still bringing more sports facilities

Dislikes

Mess food and the unavailability of other eating places
No mess card so that we can save money everytime we don't eat in the mess
Average placements compared to the standards of an IIT

Placement Experience:

The placements are good enough, might not have many Core oppurtunities for Branches like Mechanical, Civil and Metallurgy but most of the people get placed as there is a good amount of non-core oppurtunities like software development, web and ML. The Summary is that if you want to go into Non-core side you can have better placement oppurtunity compared to Core, even though we also get multiple core companies each year, and the placement each year is growing with the campus

Likes

The academic facilities are very good and well planed.
There is a facility of Library and reeding room.
The facilities for the sports and good and they will provide at any time.

Dislikes

There are some aspects where there are no grounds
There must be available of lights all around the campus
The development is not up to the date they must complete as soon as possible

Placement Experience:

There is on campus placements available in Indian Institute of technology Bhubaneswar. Most of the students will get placed in on campus placements. Couple of years some of them got abroad placements . The highest package is around 80lakh and average is around 16lakh.

Likes

campus life is very nice like we can enjoy with our friends by roaming inside the campus it will be fun
Faculty will be very friendly with the students
infrastruture in our camppus is improving day by day new auditorium was opened a few days ago

Dislikes

placements are very poor only few people are geting jobs after finishing degree and the number of companys coming to our collage are also less

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placementsSome of the companies visited are zomato ,bpcl,hpcl,tata steel etc. The highest pakage is around 60 lakhs per year and the average pakage is 15 lakhs per year.Only 50 percent of the students got placed this year.The placements in this collage are w=very poor as compared to other IITs of same range.I should try for aan off campus job may be through linkedin ,unstop etc My plan is to get a software job after completing my degree or by writing gate I am planing to crack a government job.

The truth to campus life in IIT Bhubaneswar

Likes

Great Hostels. The best thing about them is single occupancy.
It is a green campus, which means that all students are expected to either walk or use bicycles.
There are great faculties in this institute, some of them help you in academics, some help in regards to worldly wisdom and some offer great advice regarding your career plans.

Dislikes

The institute is placed in a remote area very far from the city, which means no great food outlets nearby.
No proper transportation services between the institute and the the city.
Has bare minimum infrastructure regarding non-academic activities.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement starts around August and is in full swing by December and January. There will be many tech companies making placement offers in December and January. The minimum salary is 10 LPA and the maximum salary during placement differs each year but is roughly around 45 LPA. The average salary during placements in 12-15 LPA. A student can also consider getting an MBA after getting their degree.

untold story of IIT

Likes

i liked sports arena the most which consists of basketball courts , volley ball grounds and many other.
i liked the free time we get in iit ,we can do other projects beside the course wrok during these times.
i also liked the course structure which maintains a nice order and flexibility

Dislikes

infrastructure is just above average.its good but it can be better in many ways
there are many un-neccessary rules in the campus
exam papers are not upto the level.they dont test your ability most times

Students will be eligible to sit in placements from their 7th sem if they clear all subjects of previous sems. There is a placement record of 75 to 80% and an average package of 18lpa. Core placements are comparatively less similar to other colleges.

Sincere campus review from a student - IIT Bhubaneswar

Likes

The overall facilities like hostel accommodation (we never experienced water shortage or power cuts).
The faculties are well updated and supportive. We have a good library.
The group which we have, friends who always makes our life easier.

Dislikes

The summer weather is the one thing which everyone hates.
We are allowed to use bicycles considering the safety and security of students. Although it's necessary, i hate it because its difficult to go to classes which is 2km away

Placement Experience:

Almost all the students are getting placed. The maximum placement happens in Software, IT companies. Students from branches like Mechanical, Civil also opt for non-core (this is the trend) as there is high chance of getting placed. (things can change). The average package is around 12.2 lpa in 2023. For computer science, the avg package is 24 lpa. Some students go for higher education like MTech or Phd. Very few will do startups.

IIT Bhubaneswar- is it really worth ?

Campus life.. Our campus is almost 1000acres and i t feels so good to roam inside out campus
Good faculty, good infrastructure , proper guidence every one will help you

Dislikes

The administration, it all depends on the administration it depends on the director

Placement Experience:

Every year campus placements starts mildly in August and becomes rapid during December and January. most of the tech companies will come for the campus placements during December and January. Students are provided with a minimum of 10 lakhs per annum package to a maximum of 45x per annum package and an average package of 12 to 20 lakhs per annum. Students who are good that academic performances and also students especially from computer science engineering branch will get definitely placement. If any students failed to get placements duringThere are so many companies who come for our college for placements but for internships there will be only few companies coming for providing internship for the students most of the companies will ask per CGPA requirement of above 7 CGPA or 7.5 CGPA. Jindal Steel ,Tata Steel ,Cisco, Wipro ,PayPal and Brane etc Anyone can do projects related web development and machine learning and artificial intelligence to avail internships or campus placements.

Nothing comes free

Likes

Development in infrastructure this year is very drastic
Hostel rooms.. because of single membered room
Greenery.. everywhere the college is full of trees

Dislikes

No proper development in infrastructure these many years
Worst curriculum for students...........
No proper facilities for sports.........

Placement Experience:

After semester 6th .. particular in 7th semester the placements drive will be starting .. almost 50 percent plus students got placed..but due to recession the average package has decreased a lot..and 64 lpa is the highest package

The Centre of Entrepreneurship at IIT Bhubaneswar is pretty good and slowly developing. It was inaugurated on 20th June 2016 by Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar. The Department of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India sanctioned 1.50 Crore for the establishment of this canter. The vision behind the establishment of this startup center was to have an enrollment of a minimum of 10 startups in the 1st year of its commencement. The facilities provided at the Centre of Entrepreneurship are food court facility, lodging facility, working/office space, internet facility, electricity facility, laboratory facility, mentoring services, and seed grant maximum up to 2.5 lakh. For the selection procedure, initiation letters for opening startups are yet to be given. Form A is for individuals and teams and form B is for Registered Units Ancillaries and Subsidiaries of establishment Firms. This cell can prove to be a good initiative provided the management and faculty implement innovative ideas too. The highlight of this center is their conduction of Esummit. It is a two-day event which hosted lectures by eminent personalities across various domains. The Centre of Entrepreneurship also organized a workshop on “Funding Opportunities and Legal Aspects of Startups” on 9 April 2016.
