First thing i like about this campuse is its beautiful like really beautiful.
Here some teachers are really good and helpful which encourages for better performance in every field
Students can get so many scholarship opportunities once they join this institute like for students living in jk or students with good cgpa.

Dislikes

Professors are not that good as expected,need to understand concepts from youtube
This is quite difficult to afford for a middle class family but there are fee waiver also
Hostels are not that good and have only fans not even cooler so it is difficult in summers washrooms are also not well mantained food is also not that good overall hostels are very unhygienic and are not well mantained

Intelligent and competitive crowd around.
Wonderful Placements in core as compared to other colleges
Passionate Professors which makes you develop interest in your persuing degree

Dislikes

Attendence Criteria is too high to be maintained
There is no relative marking done as such.
There is no Entrepreneurship culture to find upon.People are just running behind jobs

Placement Experience:

The placements are quite decent in our college. Obviously not good for those who enjoy their complete 4 years. If you study well and maintain a good cg, most probably you will land up in 10lpa+ on avgerage. On higher part it can go upto crores.

College has good infrastructure. All the classrooms are AC.
The girls hostel is really good. It is new built and has good facilities
The food in mess is quite good. It is far better than most of the hostels

NIT Jalandhar's placements start in the 7th semester. Top recruiters include Amazon, Microsoft, and Infosys. The highest package is around INR 43 LPA, with an average of INR 8-10 LPA. Over 85% of students get placed.

True story of engineers

Likes

Best Environment. More trees. Near and clean
Prayas is the best part. They teach poor people
Best infrastructure. More clubs that learn more things.

Dislikes

Behaviour of faculty. Hostel food. Canteens rude behaviour of workers
Fest is not good. Cordination of the club members some time not good
When fest is going on dj' s voice is slow

Almost 7th semester students eligible for campus placement. Amazon Microsoft Reliance, Trident Group, Accenture etc. Highest package of our college Is 50 lpa. And average package of our college is 10 lpa. Almost 80% students getting placement. I get best placement after degree

NIT Jalandhar: A Students Perspective

Likes

Well maintained Campus filled with Greenery. Have trees everywhere and the dirt and waste is cleaned time to time.
Good and Reputed companies come for placements and one students can apply for more than 2 companies
Extra curricular Activities are encouraged along with Academics.. Athletic Fest, Sports meet are conducted annually along with few other competitions

Dislikes

Improper Management of Schedule of classes as few Branches get tight Schedule where as few others get a balanced schedule
Not well maintained classrooms in old buildings as they are not air conditioned.
Fests are conducted during long weekends no matter how close those dates to Exams as the institute refuses most of the times for conducting activities during weekdays.

Placements in NIT Jalandhar is above average and it was steady throughout the years. The highest package of NIT Jandhar was of 1.2Cr per annum offered in 2022 by an International Firm in Ireland. The average package ranges from 17-20 Lakhs per annum for branches like CSE,IT,ECE,EE and 14-16 Lakhs for branches like BT,ME,CE,IPE,etc. The companies that come for placements are Reliance, Oracle, Deloitte, Microsoft, Nvdia, Paypal , Atlassian, BHEL, Cisco systems,etc. Students are offered internships from 3rd semesters and by the time they reach 7th semester they are given pre-placements offers. The placement percentage of students in NIT Jalandhar is 79% and almost more than 50% of the students are get double offers [offers from 2 companies].

How is it to be a student at NIT Jalandhar.

Likes

The Lush green and well maintained campus spread in 150 Acres is one of the best things that NITJ have.
Faculties are very experienced and have expertise in their field as the faculties here are PhDs.
The new curriculum allows students to explore their own branch core subjects since the very first semester also there's a compulsory credit dedicated for co curriculum in first year.

Dislikes

The Training and Placement Cell of NITJ still needs to improve alot.
Being the peak temperature of 45°C in Jalandar, Hostels are still equipped with only fans and installation of any electronic device is not allowed.
Lack of industrial exposure is there as curriculum only focuses on learning more rather than application.

Though Placements here are somewhat satisfactory as compared to the situation outside but still the Training and Placement Cell needs to improve a lot. Overall placement percentage of College is good with an average package of around 7 LPA (I got placed at Reliance Industries at 7.5 LPA)

Here faculty are well qualified and experienced
Sports facilities are good.For cricket there are grounds
Library is well organised and spacious with sufficient no of books

Placement in the core companies are not so good

Onwards starting of 6 th semester companies start to come.Cs It has good placement records.Placement in core companies is not so good.Highest package is offered around 40 lakhs from cs/it/ece branch.

overall NIT JALANDHAR

Likes

lush green 150 acre campus with having all basic ammenities
too many options for getting food like night canteen, campus cafe
good faculties and departments are also very good having good support staff

Dislikes

not every hostels common area has air conditioning facility
still use some old lecture theatres for tutorial purpose
need a big open air theatre and a CSH with more seating area

Placement Experience:

In the recent few months we have seen good placements, the average is around 10-12 lakhs and most students are still getting placed at the moment. Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester onwards. The highest package so far has been 72 lakhs. Placements are still ongoing.

No ragging and supportive seniors and faculty
Many options of clubs for you to choose from according to your interest
Good environment for sports and cultural events

Dislikes

Food is not very good along with the hostel
Hectic schedule for day , didn't leave time for trying out different things
College doesn't have a good coding culture

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are quite average overall but it varies from branch to branch with CS branch getting the highest package and biotech the least. Around 75%of eligible students of CS branch are placed and 68% of ECE, 100% of mechanical and etc

My honest review on my college .

Likes

The campus life is very amazing and the social life is also very good. There are many fest happening in the college like cultural fest, technical fest and athletic fest.
The faculties are Very good and supportive in nature. Their teaching methods are very amazing. They deliever the concept in a very unique way.
Infrastructure of this college is very good. Classrooms are very good. Labs are very well equipped.

Dislikes

Lab does not have latest computer.We use drafter to draw the engineering drawing assignment in this world of computer era.
Some teachers are strict.They don't give you full marks if I have written all the answers

Placement Experience:

The placement in my college is very good . Specially for mechanical engineer companies like BPCL (Government company) which offer government job to mechanical students on basis on their CGPA and interview.There is no need to clear gate exam to get into PSU job.

The campus has a lot of greenery which attracts and gives a positive energy
The mess food is too good mess comittee receive feedback and cook meals according to students choice but also adjust the diet rate accordingly.
Faculty is also good not best but decent which helps students to learn.

Dislikes

In first year they restrict your outing not only outside the campus but in campus also
Campus feels little short if you are that type of person who like traveling and wants to explore things.
The faculty provide a lot of works at the time of semester exams like quiz practical assignments projects that is very hectic

Placement Experience:

From 7th sem student is eligible for campus placement. Many companies visit like Goole, Microsoft, infosis,etc. Average pakage is about 5lpa and highest pakage is about 1+ cpa last year. After completing my civil degree I'll try for government services.

Mechanical in NIT Jalandhar:

4-5 senior faculty members are excellent. Every ad-hock is very poor and useful in any way. Undergraduate research opportunities are limited, but you can participate in mechanical teams and learn a lot at international-level competitions and race events, or you can start your own. Self-knowledge is the only source of knowledge. If you want, you can get the most out of your knowledge and experience by leaving here. In terms of numbers, placement is excellent. For a long time, the campus has been dominated by PSUs and automobile companies. This includes excellent companies involved in the core design, the power sector, and the energy sector. They don't go there very often, but the overall placement is excellent.

CSE: Students have good grades and get good jobs as a result of the market boom. Some students are very good learners who work hard for their studies and knowledge, but this type of student is between the ages of 8 and 10. The remaining 80 people dance, sing, and participate in other activities.

ECE: Faculty members are friendly and helpful. Students are exceptional. Placements are good, and some students study the entire CSE curriculum to get the job. If you want to come here, you must choose with your mind, consider all aspects, and think wisely.
