Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

NIT Durgapur overall review

Likes

The placements at our campus is really good because almost every student will be placed by the end of the Bachelors.
With the skills in sports you can participate in inter hall and inter NIT and we can get certificates
Lab facilities are really amazing like we can develop our practical knowledge through labs

Dislikes

Food provided in the canteen was not good

Placement Experience:

Students will be sitting for the placements right from their 5th semester. 3rd year students will get internship based on their scores and skills in their individual departments. More than 150 companies visit our campus every year and 700+ placements will be offered. Companies like Amazon hire more than 20 students every year with a package of 53 lakhs . I think the highest package is 80 lakhs in our campus only one person got this opportunity. Average package is about 9 lakhs in 2023. 87% students got placed in 2023. I am currently doing job after my BTech.

Student life at NIT durgapur

Likes

I like the campus area with large space and weather
I like the canteen meals and city places

Dislikes

I dont like the meals much,as i like to eat south food
No transportaion facility sometimes i miss classes
No proper grading by the professors,which makes me low

Placement Experience:

for chemical departement the placements arent good so far..here the professors wont give proper grading.. the companies visited so far are Essar Uk oil, andritz,microsoft,flipkart,google the highest package so far is 3500000 this year no100 percentage of placemnt in any department due to recesion

I liked hostel too much, as i want friend i made friend.
2nd things is campus is really decent as compare to other colleges.
Hall 14 and research building is really good.

Dislikes

I disliked, here restriction because of this i wasted my 1st year.
Lighting in campus is also a challenge for this college.
Some of the faculty, they are very stupid.

Placement Experience:

Placement is just above average, because in 2023 average package was 13lpa of this college. Which is really decent. From 3rd year or 5th semester U can eligible for sit in on campus placement. Actually my family conditions is not good so I've to placed after my btech degree.

What I liked is placement percentage,campusand good connectivity.
The faculty here are also well qualified and their teaching methods are also good.
The infrastructure is very good.We have big classrooms,big ground,lab centres.

Dislikes

I don't like the place as here there is no such place to visit.

Genuine Review of NIT Durgapur

Likes

Faculty is much supportive to students of 1st years.
There are many clubs in our college which is quite interesting to participate.
Placements in chemical engineering is good so I personally choosen this college. 83.3% were placed in chemical engineering.

Dislikes

The food is not as we expected. I personally don't like the canteen food in NIT Durgapur.
Department blocks are very far. I personally hate to walk all-around the college.
There is no E-sports club in our college. It makes gamers disappointed.

Placements are good in NIT Durgapur. The highest package is INR 70 lakhs per annum in 2023. Some top recruiters like TCS, Wipro, PWC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft visits every year during placements rounds. The average salary is around 13.64 lakhs in our college. Around 600 students were placed during placement drive in some top companies.

Exploring Excellence: A Review of NIT Durgapur

Likes

Friendly Environment and good connectivity
Good infrastructure, good faculties and mode of teaching is good
Good placement rate and good average package

Dislikes

Time is limited for each semester and huge academic pressure

Placement Experience:

The overall placement is good. Placement percentage is 84.66 with average package 13.62LPA.Almost 187 companies visted in the year 2023 with total 746 offers. The highest package in 2023 was 70LPA. Computer science Engineering has the highest placement package in the year 2023. MME has the highest placement percentage in the year 2023.Many students also received double and triple jobs. My plans after getting degree is opting for higher education.

My POV about NIT Durgapur

Likes

The campus of NIT Durgapur which is so big and beautiful .
The club of this college which teach us many things .
The facilities who helps us to walk smoothly in career .

Dislikes

The criteria of attendance which decreases our grade .
Timing of the labs which is so annoying .
Distance from our hostel to NAB or MAB which is so far .

Course Curriculum Overview:

From my opinion , course curriculum rate should be 10 out of 10 . Cause the reasearch opportunities are so high level in here and facilities are so educated . Some facilities are got PhD from Germany .

Hostel life with friends and sports like football carrom badminton tt etc
Mess food on Wednesday night friday morning sunday's biriyani
Too big hostel and free atmosphere with good scenery

From 6th semester placement is started Companies visited Tcs, microsoft, lnt, etc Average package is too good 10+ lpa Around 90% students are placed My plan after getting the degree is tp give GATE exam and opted PSU job over Mtech

Nit durgapur is good for placements

I like the nature in the campus and also neatness of roads
The lab aquipement is very good and the staff also
The classrooms were very neat and clean with latest technology

Dislikes

I didn’t like the food in hostel and the cleaness of rooms

From 6 th semester onwards the students were able to attend the campus placements Adobe,accenture,microsoft,tcs etc In 2023 highest package - 83 lpa Average package - 22 lpa For computer science and engineering In 2023 93% students placed in our institute Getting job with good package

Likes

Best Faculty members, very good and helpful seniors
A big campus with two playgrounds- OVALS, LORDS
Annual fest- Rectacy, Aarohon, Tech fests, clubs,

Dislikes

Heavy restrictions, no interaction with seniors
No Freshers Party, Not allowed us in Student Activity Centre
No such gardens or places to time pass in nature in our campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum 4.5/5 as it is designed totally based on the Industrial aspects on Chemical Engineering. We also have C and DSA in our 1st year curriculum which helps us in the beginning step to coding world

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
