Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

From 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement.companies like Microsoft,tata,etc visited on campus and highest package on campus is 70 lakh per annum and the cse average package is 23 lakh and overall average is 13.62 lakh.almost 85 percent students are placed here.my plans is to get a good software job and prepare for upsc exams as well .

The quality of the dining hall fare left much to be desired, as every dish seemed overly sweetened, and potatoes were a ubiquitous presence in every meal. Moreover, the menu lacked diversity, offering limited options on a daily basis.
Securing internships proves challenging for students. Hostel accommodations fall short of expectations. Certain instructors exhibit strict and discourteous behavior. The campus sports facilities are insufficient to meet student needs.

Upon completion of the 5th semester, students become eligible to partake in campus recruitment drives facilitated by the Career Development Center. The placement statistics have remained consistently impressive, with rates reaching 98.88% in 2020, 88.3% in 2022, and 95.97% in 2023. PROS AND CONS OF NIT DURGAPUR

Likes

The college has a good alumni network, which helps students make important connections and get advice about careers from former students.
The campus has modern facilities like labs, libraries, and recreational areas, all well-equipped for students to use.

Dislikes

The campus is in a remote area, which might make it hard for students to access city amenities and job opportunities outside of campus placements.
The mess food wasn't good; there was too much sweetness in every dish, and potatoes seemed to be in every meal.Variety was lacking in the menu, with limited options available each day.
Students struggle to find internships.Hostel conditions are not great.Some teachers are strict and rude.There aren't enough sports facilities on campus.

Colledge life is love

Likes

Library atmosphere and facilities they provide.
All the professors are highly qualified.
Clubs are the best and many tournaments are organised by seniors.

Dislikes

Mess food is the worst i can think about in many hostel except senior hostels.
Restriction in 1st year because our colledge is afraid of ragging.
No big tourist place to visit on off days.

Placement Experience:

For internship you are eligible from 2nd year only. Many multinational companies visit here. Off campus placement are very good here. Highest package in campus -70 lakh and average package is around -13.64. In 2022 placement was around 85% I think. My plans are to get placement after my graduation in my branch only.

I enjoy being part of the club culture and attending various events. It adds excitement and diversity to my college experience.

Dislikes

Campus Location: The campus's remote location could be a hurdle for students
Food: The quality of the mess food was unsatisfactory, with excessive sweetness and an overabundance of potatoes in every dish.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college's curriculum is excellent, and I'd rate it a solid 9 out of 10. It's developed by experts within our institution and includes additional tech-related activities to enhance our learning experience. With two semesters annually, each semester features a mid-term exam. Staying on top of lectures and daily assignments makes tackling these exams quite manageable.We receive the timetable well in advance, and exams are scheduled either in the morning or afternoon. Each exam lasts for 3 hours.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
