Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Likes

The culture which is all india. We find people coming all around the country
The campus is very free and green where as the area outside is quite polluted . It feels good inside the campus

Dislikes

There is a restriction for the first years whole 2 semesters, which is good for anit ragging but its too long period
The hostels are quite small but the one which is alloted for first and second years is good
The campus is a bit small compared to the other nits

Placement Experience:

The placement records are quite cool in this campus. The average package of cse goes around 22 lpa and not only that but in the department of mme the placement percentage is around 97 which is very great . Many of the other department students are also getting placed

Our beautiful campus which is full of art .
The greenery of our college which makes it more peaceful.
And obviously college fest when we enjoy the dj nights😂

Dislikes

In first semester we are not allowed to go out from hostel because of restrictions

Placement Experience:

After sixth semester students are eligible for the campus placements. Microsoft,Vipro, Accenture,Amazon and many more companies visit here. For branch wise placement you can check respective colleges website .

REAL INSIGHT OF NIT DURGAPUR

Likes

Campus life with friends and enjoyment on weekends
Interaction with juniors and seniors is good
New hostel and buildings are of very high standards

Dislikes

Transportation cost is very high and very less negotiable rate are there
Food is mostly sweet and you'll miss spiciness
Mess food is not good and bad behavior of managers and warden

Placement Experience:

from 5th semester internship starts and from 7th placement opens Big companies like Microsoft, JPMC, Wells Fargo and many more come as campus recruitment very good opportunities for females Internship rate is bit low for most of branches placement is above 75% few have 85-90% placement rate People also pursue UPSC,MBA,GATE after degree completion

The campus is big and full of tress. .
There are two major fests AAROHAN AND RECSTACY WHICH ARE VERY GOOD
The seniors are also very helpful with their guidance

Dislikes

There are a few labs which needs to be upgraded
Semester end in only 4 months and exams take place every 2 months
Few teachers are not clear with what they teach

My course i.e Electrical engineering here at Nit Durgapur has got some really awesome faculties who teach very well and are really helpful.The curriculum of this course prepares us well to face any challenges related to our field.Exams take place every 2 months

The Experience of NIT Durgapur

Likes

Campus area is so lerge and greeneries everywhere.
Placement percentage is quite good with big MNCs are come to NIT DGP such as Microsoft,Amazon etc.
Faculty are so much supportive they are very helpful.

Dislikes

There are so many Strict Hostel rules in nit durgapur
Mess food is some days are good and some days are avarage.
Hostel entry time is 7 Pm for 1st year and 11 pm for 2nd year.

Placement Experience:

Highest Package 71 lpa in 2023. Placement are quite good on the the campus nit durgapur specially trains and encourages the students to sit for internship and placements. A student is elligible to seat for the internship at the beginning of the third year and placements from the beginning of the final year. A student can manage can geeting a PPO after completing the internship in the 3rd which is also encouraged by the student, The otherncriteria regarding to placements that internship quite well-defined in the NIT DGP website.

Likes

The culture, Interaction and activities which keeps you wind up throughout the year and will also give time to cherish those moments .
The sports companionship and the bond share by the seniors and juniors.

Dislikes

The administration's restrictions and authority.
Not properly supporting students with their new ideas and events.

Placement Experience:

The placement rate of Nit Durgapur is quite good . As of now 2024 due to recession there is decline in the offers and their packages but it could go worse . Around 900 students are there in a batch of BTech in which placement percentage varies dept wise . CSE has 80 percentage, Ece has 65 percentage electrical has 75 percentage and rest of the dept have nearly 50 to 70 percentage . You can get a overview through placement stats of Nit Durgapur form the college website.highest package is of 54 lpa from Microsoft and average Is around 10lpa . After getting placement or in final year mot of the students go for GATE , CAT for further studies or go for these jobs .

I liked overall vibe of my college. The student quality is good and overall curriculum is updated
I loved placement of my college which was excellent.

Dislikes

I disliked the teaching pedagogy of some professors.

Placement Experience:

As it is an NIT so placements here are quite good. We get all good companies visiting the campus round the year & making decent offers. We consistently get placements above 80%. I plan on doing a job after graduation.

NIT DURGAPUR REVIEW

Campus is small and compact and all important buildings are located nearby.
You get much freedom to explore. Pressure not high.
Clubs and societies gives opportunity to learn a lot.

Dislikes

Placement situation can be improved a lot.
Mess food can be improved from the present condition.
Hostel needs a lot of renovation especially the old ones.

Placement Experience:

Placements are held in the 8th semester. Major recuiters include Microsoft, Wells Fargo, Oracle, PwC, Delloit , EY, Bajaj etc. Highest package is 50 Lakhs and average package is Rs 10 Lakhs. Around 80% students gets placed but depends on market scenario also.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements in the third year of study. It is to be noted that in third year they can apply only for internships and subsequent pre-placement offers, while in fourth year the option to apply for full-time opportunities becomes available. Reputed tech companies such as Microsoft, Samsung, NVIDIA, Oracle, Qualcomm, finance companies like JPMC, Wells Fargo, BNY Mellon are some of the companies which offer placements in Computer Science. Many Indian and startup companies also visit our college for placements. Highest CTC is 51 lpa from Microsoft followed by 40 lpa from Samsung. In our batch almost 60% students are placed. My plans after getting the degree is to get a job either in private or public sector.

My experience with NIT Durgapur

Likes

The campus is covered with greenery and fresh air to breathe and sit beneath the trees
The placement cell ensures everyone gets qual opportunity in securing the best job
Faculties are very qualified and they always step up to help others

Dislikes

The curriculum feels vast sometimes and the lab and assignments makes it even worse
Sometimes hostels are not properly maintained and that leads to chaos
Timings of the classes are not proper sometimes

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester you are eligible to sit for the internships whichever are available to you. You need to mandatorily do a vocational training after completion of 6th semester. There are various companies which visits the campus namely L&T, Afcons, ITD cementation, BPCL, ZS etc which provides an offer ranging from 6 -20 Lakhs per annum. Almost 60% of the students finally able to secure the offer in Civil engineering course. I am currently placed in BPCL through campus and I am hopeful to serving there for a while

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
