- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Placement Experience:
In Final year, students are allowed to sit for placements. Average package for my branch (MME) is 8 LPA and maximum package is 14 LPA. I am planning to do job for some years and then pursue my PG and PhD after few years of gaining job experience.

- Courses, Life Style, Placements and also the main part you will make friends who will last forever.
- Hostel life with friends , late night parties with friends.
- Foods in the campus, and you can meets a special person like girlfriend or boyfriend who will help you grow, but choose carefully.
Dislikes
- Many Assignments will be given by the faculty members.
- Due to recession the placements are not better this year.
- The freedom should be more in the campus.
Placement Experience:
Placements are the best part of NITs and IITs. Oncampus placemets are organized by CDC, top tech companies lik Microsoft, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, BNY Mellon and any other. Average package varies but as a guess from 10 LPA to 15 LPA will be the avg package.

- The good things in NIT Durgapur is, here you get the opportunity to learn different types of things , you get touch from different people from India , so always you learn new things from new people.
- You always get the opportunity learn the technology in very practical and proper way from the tech society/club.
- You can get opportunity to learn different soft skills .
Dislikes
- The hostel and mess facility is not that much good , so the authority should improve it.
- The 75% attendance criteria is not good because some times students are not interested in the class ,but forcefully he has to attend the class , so i think the student who is not interested in the class he can explore his own things in this time.
- Some People who are in the administrative department are so rude with the students.
Placement Experience:
From 7th semester, placement season starts.There different types of company like manufucturing, IT- product and service based both /management /consultancy etc. Some Recruiter companies are PWC ,Microsoft ,Oracle ,deloitte, JPMC, JSW, Reliance etc.
The highest package is 55L -60L, avarage package is 10L-13L per annum.every year 80-85% people get placed in our campus.if someone get no placment ,then She / He has the opportunity for higher studies from This collage or may prapare for some other exam like GATE/CAT/UPSC etc.
My plans after doing degree is just to start a job in a good company.

- Placements are very good compared to other colleges.
Dislikes
- Fee structure is not good for open category there is vast difference between them and others.
- Food is worst in the state , hostel everywhere. If you want to join forget about food.
Placement Experience:
Internships placement starts from the end of 2nd year and go upto 4th year 1st Sem. Placements start from end of 3rd year and go through the 4th year. There are nearly 160+ companies visiting you can go to nit Durgapur official website nitdgp.ac.in and check in the placement section . You will get a pdf list of companies and students placed. There is nearly 98% placement from our branch and nearly 90% above for college.

- As far as food is concerned you are eventually going to get bored with the daily routine of the mess food.
- there are plenty of restaurants and the Junction Mall outside the campus at a walking distance where you can enjoy your day outs.
Dislikes
- Almost every student of NIT DURGAPUR had a dull, stressful and a black and white phase of life exactly like shown in KOTA FACTORY
- Assignments nd presentations take away the fun from studies
Placement Experience:
Excellent for CSE, Good for ECE and average for most of the other branches and poor for Civil and Biotech.
The institute has shown tremendous growth and performance in CSE placements in last few years which is visible from the stats below also the institute has done pretty well for ECE too this year. But for other branches the stats are not that promising. For Civil and Biotech the average and percentage both are low. Plus avoid MSc courses if possible if you are looking for placement as no student got placed in those.

7 or 8th semester students get eligible for placements
Many companies visited like

TATA STEEL
JSW
IBM
,etc.
Offers are quite good avg is 17 lpa
About 85% students get placements
Job is my first priority next would be giving GATE exam

- Nit durgapur is known for its strong academic programs in sciece and technology
- The campus offers good infrastructure with modern amenities
- Placements opportunities is also good here

- The location of the university is in a very odd place
- Mess food becomes a problem sometimes because the food is oily.
- Opinions on hostel conditions can vary with some students showing dissatisfaction
Placement Experience:
From 5th semester students gets eligible for campus placements
There are various companies like wells fargo, Microsoft that visited and there were total of 700 offers
The highest package of NIT Durgapur is 70lacs and average package is 13.64 lpa
83.07% students got placed
I plan to do MBA

- The Greenery is the most noticable thing that attracted me the most, the weather is also pretyy good other than summer
- The faculties are very good that is very important t me. The Institution very responsible for the wellbeing of the students.
- The Classes are also very nice, The library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- The mess food is the thing that i mostly hated here .
- The restrictions are also very tight,which is reasonable , but sometimes it feels like it is too much.
Placement Experience:
The campus placements are good cmpared to other NITs. All the FANG companies comes to our campus.
the highest package last year was 50 lpa, The average package is 12 lpa which is a pretty decent number.
Maximum students gets placed.in 2021_22 579 B. Tech students got placed.
I also want to be in one of those FANG companies after my degree.

- It lacks the NIT standard infrastructure.
Placement Experience:
Placements are pretty good in NIT Durgapur. Many companies including Microsoft visit NIT Durgapur each year for recruitment. In session 2023-24 84.66% students got placed with highest 70lpa and 13.62 avarage lpa.

After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement. Top companies which visited are Microsoft, amazon, Qualcomm, samsung, etc. Nearly 80% students get placement. I will do job after getting my degree.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
