Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for on-campus placements from the 4th year onwards and for internships, you are eligible from 3rd year onwards. A Career Development Center is available which brings various placement and internship opportunities for the students. Many top companies visit our college for placements and internships. The highest package offered last year was 56 lpa and the average package is around 14 lpa. Almost 80-90 % of students are placed from every branch.

Exploring Excellence - My Journey at NIT Durgapur

Likes

Collage classes are good They are fully Air conditioned and the classes are digital.
Campus Life is also good with lots of collage fests and Many Cultural Activities.
The Placement Ratio is very good with lots of companies visiting for ON Campus oppurtunity.

Dislikes

Hostel Infrastructure is not so good because many hostels are very old and not properly maintained.
Course Schedule sometime become hectic with not proper gaps between the exams.
The major issue about the collage life is the weather of Durgapur which is very hot and humid.

From 2nd Semester you can apply for Off-campus and from 3rd Semester You are Eligible for the on-campus opportunity for an internship and in the 4th Year you are eligible for placements. Many Comnipaes visits like Microsoft, Wells Fargo, JPMC, BNY, Brane, Salesforce, Texas Instruments, PWC, Cisco, etc. Highest 80 LPA, Average- 10 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is - 85%. To get a good Placement in a good Company.

Don't Choose NITDGP without knowing these facts.

Likes

Infrastructure: class rooms , library, Halls
Campus life: Availability of necessary this
Placements: decent placement, but you have to maintain your cgpa and workon your skills

Dislikes

Academics: 75% attendance rule , course curriculum
Faculty: some faculties are good but some are worst.

Placement Experience:

Placement is decent, the average Placement in 2023 was 13.5 LPA. For higher branches like Cs, Ece, EE, and ME package is pretty decent but for the other branches you have to push yourself to get a decent job.

I like the environment of our college and students.
I like the whole campus of our college and the professors
I also like the whole college as overall experience is so good

Dislikes

I dont like the attendence criteria of our college.
I dont like some stuffs of our college as they are rude
I dont like few students and also the strict law for students

Placement Experience:

Placement of our college is good enough. There is a Placement cell for students. That cell helps for the placement. Average package offered 12lpa. Highest CTC os 72LPA. Percentage of total student got placed is 86%

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for internship opportunities after the 5th semester. And after the 7th semester for campus placements. Various MNCs and industrial companies visit this college for recruitment, and each company hires a good number of students. The highest package offered yet is 56 LPA and the average package offered is 14.28 LPA. Almost more than 80% students get placed in every branch.

All about NIT Durgapur

Likes

The campus is really really good. A walk will take all the stress away.
The classrooms are vast and well decorated.
College fests are really exciting. Tech fests cultural fests are mesmerising.

Dislikes

Mess food is good, but boring. It is tough to eat mess food everyday.
A huge part of campus is unaccessible for girls.

Placement Experience:

Students can apply for internships after 4th semester only. They often get pre-placement offers from those companies in 6th semester. If not, they can sit for the campus placements from the 7th semester. I don't know much about other branches, but for computer science, a maximum package of 2022-'23 was 51 lpa and the average was 18 lpa.

A CASE STUDY OF NIT DURGAPUR

Likes

Nice infrastructure and the proper facilities of the college.
Nice and co operative professor and helpful professors.

Dislikes

A bit pressure on the curiculum of the college
Some things are easily not achievable in the field of engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview:

They have a very nice atmosphere faculty is co-operative and I chose this course as it's a core sector of engineering and the faculties are well qualified they use advanced teaching methods and there is a system of timely term exams like mid-semester and end-semester examinations.

The campus is very greenary and quite big to enjoy
The hostel life is very good and neat and clean
Library contains many books available for academic and out knowledge

Dislikes

The academic pressure is quite high and you have to study hard
75 % attendance criteria is mandatory for attending exams
Some faculties are very strict and not so supportive.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester, the students are eligible for campus placement. Companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, TCS Ninja, etc. The highest package is 70 Lpa. And the average package is 12 LPA. 85% of students are getting placements. I will accept the job offer placement and join the company.

Campus is too beautiful and location of the college is great.

‘75% attendance criteria' is more painful for every student.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement. Almost every top company visited among them some are Amazon, Microsoft, Flipkart, etc. The highest package of NIT Durgapur this year is 70lpa and the average is 13.46lpa. More than 85% of students get placement. After my degree, I thought of higher education.

Pretty boring

Likes

The competition. Every person coming to NIT has worked hard and tediously. You will have a good competition here. Along with your overall development.
You will learn how to survive with basic necessities.
Self- Discipline. Very important without which a lot of time you might fall behind.

Dislikes

Obviously the mess food lol. It's pretty bad but gotta survive.

Placement Experience:

Placements at our college are very good. And it has always been getting better. Big companies like Amazon, Google, JPMC etc. come here to offer jobs. The highest packages reach up to 70 lpa on campus. This year it was from our branch itself.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
