Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

BRIEF OF NIT DURGAPUR

Likes

The club culture is very active over here
The college has a good coding culture overall
The faculties are quite helpful here and they are easy to approach

Dislikes

The research facilities lacks here as many laboratories needs renovation
The campus size Is small compared to the other nits, iits
There is no swimming pool in the campus.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placement from the 6th semester as the companies start coming in August. Microsoft, ADOBE, QUALCOMM, and various core companies like L&T, Tata Motors, reliance, etc. offer placement here. 13.64 lpa is the average package and 70 lpa is the highest package here. Overall 85% of students got placed. I want to pursue research after b.tech.

Placement Experience:

Placemets are quite hood on the campus nit Durgapur specially trains and encourages the students to sit for internships and placements. A student is eligible to seat for the internships at the beginning of the third and placements from the beginning of the final year.. a student can manage getting a PPO after completing the internship in the 3rd which is also encouraged by the student. The other criteria regarding placements and internship is quite well-defined on the NIT dgps website.

NIT Durgapur - An experience to withhold

Likes

The campus, the infrastructure of classrooms, faculty members, placements are something which I like the most
Club culture and the students who run the club. You learn how to socialize and manage a group of people.
Academics as a whole, our college never sacrifices learning as a whole, every concept is well taught.

Dislikes

Only thing I dislike is sometimes the academic pressure seems quite a lot.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester onwards. Leading tech brands like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, Samsung, core companies like Hindustan Petroleum, TATA steel, Tata Metalics, and many more companies come every year. The highest package last year was 80lpa and the average package was about 13.5lpa. Almost 90% of students got placements including all branches. I want to pursue an MBA after completing my degree, but I will take campus placement for the job experience.

NIT DGP overview

Likes

The campus is beautiful and the ambience is great. I love the vibe and fest here.
The cultural clubs are great and very active they organise some of the most spectating display in our campus.
The classroom are great and faculties are really caring. They provide all the help we need.

Dislikes

The director of college is very strict and suppress students
Water drainage system is little poor so heavy rain can affect for a short time.
Maintenance is very low and they care very less about the cleanliness

From the final year, students are eligible for placement. Microsoft, JP Morgan, Accenture, PWC, and Tata Steel were the biggest companies that recruited from our college. They took 40 people each from campus. The highest placement was off campus at 1.3 cr. And the average is above 10 lpa. More than 80 percent of students were placed. I'll try to get a placement after my degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am passionate about engineering. I love physics that's why I chose this degree. This degree has a freedom of work in professional life Student ratio - 900 students per year. Among them 680-700 boys and Around 220-220 girls per year faculty members are average. Most of them are from top IITs like IIT KGP, Roorkee, Bombay, Kanpur, Jadavpur University and from nit Durgapur itself. We generally clear out doubts from YouTube rather than professors Exams are quite difficult. Most semester questions are from the previous year's question of the GATE exam or IIT KGPs Semester PYQ.

In our college infrastructure and discipline is so much good
In college campus when the technical fest is happen that is the very joyful moment

In gymkhana if we do workout in gym that is not sufficient equipment for workout according to student capacity

From the beginning of the 7th semester (4th year), companies are coming to our hostel campus and recruiting the students according to PI Many companies have visited the campus like Microsoft, john deere, Deloitte, Accenture, ICCI, ZS, IBM, JP Morgan, jio, hero, delivery many many lots The highest package is 70 Lpa & the package is 13.6 Lpa most of the year In every branch, almost 70-75% of students are placed My plan is also to get the degree at that of my state Placement.

Campus placement is good. In cse department, the average package is 21 -22 lakh which is decent, and almost 85-90 percent of students get placed. even you get many govt companies psus opportunities. so overall the campus placement is good.

Placement Experience:

Placement season starts from the 7th semester onwards. A lot of companies visit here for recruitment for various roles for IT and core positions. IT companies like Amazon, Cisco, Salesforce, etc. visit, and core companies like Texas Instruments, Tata, etc. visit here. The highest package offered last year was 50+ LPA and the average package ranges around 13-14 LPA. Maximum students get placed from all branches.

I liked the academic facility professor here are very supportive
Ragging free campus. The senior are very helping in nature
The infrastructure of college is also quite advanced with modern teaching method.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is improving every year in this college. Generally, you will start getting placement from the beginning of your final year. Core branch companies like Tata, John Deere, Bajaj, and Durgapur steel plants visit here for campus hiring. The average package of this college last year was 14lpa and the highest package offered was 55lpa. Approx 80-85% of students get placed every year.

LIFE AT NIT DURGAPUR

Likes

Campus Life:We have a pretty good campus which is small yet beautiful.
Fests and Clubs:clubs play an important role in increasing your social interaction.
Exposure:Being in a NIT increases your exposure and provides lot of opportunities.

Dislikes

Groupism:Being in such a college people still stay in groups and rarely interact.
Placement: Opportunities could be provided in more just ways.
Campus facilities:Several facilities could be provided in the campus which are very basic.

Placement Experience:

Placements are average. The circuital branches have a pretty good placement. Despite this most of the student gets placed On campus opportunities are present as a lot of companies visit the campus. The highest package this year was 70 lakhs.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
