IIT Jammu Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

We were among the part of the first batch of the college frankly speaking we do not know what to expect from the college placement drive as no past record was available and the placement committee was also recently formed. But the college managed to invite very good companies and very good numbers of companies were invited around 110+ companies visited the college campus during the placement drive. But still, college managed to achieve a record of 90% placement and the highest placement offer was around 40 LPA and the average salary offer was 19 LPA.

The college is a very new establishment and we were among the first batch to take part in the college placement drive. The college has invited around 120+ companies for placement drive and the highest placement offer of the college was around 41 LPA and the average salary offer was 20 LPA which is a very good return on investment. The placement cell was newly formed and filled with experts who have very good industrial experience.

In just a short period of time, the college is able to match the standards of the IIT. The college has achieved a record of 100% placement from the first batch itself. The college education quality is so good that few of my batchmates receive the pre-placement offers during the time of the internship. The college highest package was around 41 LPA and the average package was approx 18 LPA. Around 80+ companies visited our campus during the college placement drive.

IIT Jammu had an excellent placement record of a maximum package of 40 LPA and an average package of 12 LPA. 70 placement offers along with 2 international offers were made during recruitment. Some of the recruiters visiting the campus were Amazon, Forbes, Arista networks, HealthifyMe, Oyo, Optum, RAAM Group, Larson and Toubro Infotech, Toppr, Eagleview, Truminds, JBM, Chegg, etc. The students had experience of internships from companies like Ericsson, ABB, TCS Research, LTI, Optum, etc. This is the prime reason why recruiters of IIT Jammu prefer candidates with prior internship experience rather than freshers with negligible experience. During my interview at L&T, one of the main interrogations conducted was regarding the experiences at the previous summer internship during my engineering years.

As the institute is in its initial phase that does not mean that you won't receive any placement. The college placement committee is fully supportive and if you are a hardworking person you will receive a good placement. The committee is able to invite good companies for placement. L&T Infotech, Chegg India, Amazon, Optum, and others are among the top recruiters for the 2021 postings at IIT Jammu. IIT Jammu organises candidate placement drives by bringing in top recruits who also offer internship options. In addition, the institute has received the highest placement of Rs 50 LPA for the year 2021.
