Johns Hopkins University Accommodation

Most first-year students and sophomores (2nd year students) live on campus or in residence halls just across Charles Street. There are plenty of JHU off-campus housing options for upperclassmen in the surrounding neighbourhoods. The university does not provide housing for graduate students.

Museums, restaurants, concert venues, and coffee houses are a short walk or a free shuttle ride away from the four Baltimore campuses. It is suggested to start looking for housing 2–3 months early. Use the official JHU off-campus housing website and Facebook groups like “Johns Hopkins University Apartments and Housing” for better clarity.

Students' reviews on Reddit:

Shared row houses are a common choice, where rents typically range from $800–$1,100 (₹75,040 – ₹1,03,180) per month (excluding utilities). However, these properties are often leased as a whole unit, meaning students may need to arrange a group in advance. Additionally, some of these houses may be located a bit farther from campus, so transportation costs or proximity to university shuttle routes should be considered.

More budget-friendly options can sometimes be found further away from campus. For instance, areas like Mount Vernon may offer lower rents, although the quality and amenities can vary.

Apartments near the JHU Homewood campus can be found in neighbourhoods such as Charles Village, Remington, and Hampden. They are in a relatively proximate and student-friendly environment.

No library on campus for Business school, no sports as well. We need to visit the other schools in university for such activities.

Overview

My overall experience was good. I got to work part time in 3 different labs at the university and gain knowledge of new skills and techniques used in research.

There are several organizations and clubs that organize various events for students. There are events where students can participate and showcase their talent. The library is the best place for studying in campus as it has books on different subjects. There are study rooms where a group of students can work together on a common project. The campus also has open spaces around the campus where students can sit and study peacefully without any disturbance.

When there's spring PhD intake started
S
Simran Kumari
May 2, 2024 16:56

PhD intakes can vary between universities and even between different programs within the same university. While many universities offer PhD programs with intakes in the fall semester, some also have intakes in the spring or other times of the year. The specific start dates for spring PhD intakes will depend on the academic calendar of the university offering the program.

To find out when the spring PhD intake starts for a specific university or program, you should visit the university's official website or contact the relevant department or admissions office directly. They will be able to provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding application deadlines and start dates for their PhD programs.
