Sri Venkateswara College DU

Likes

I liked The crowd of the college . All the seniors are always ready to help you out .
The society culture of the college seems to be awesome . It becomes the great learning Experience for the Students.
The engagement of the students in various activities is very good . Because if it every event at college become successful and Fun .

Dislikes

The classroom At college are non air conditioned. This becomes a very major problem during summers .

Placement Experience:

I am pursuing b com course in this college . So the campus placement record is not bad . 2 or 3 companies among the big 4 come in the campus for the placement. But the main factor affecting your placement is your skill set . If You have Pursued CS along with you UG degree . Then your chances or getting placed becomes higher automatically as compared to a person with only the UG degree.

Venky- The life at DU

Likes

The environment of college is very student friendly. Faculty members are great and highly qualified.
The college societies give us exposure to the real life skills.
College fee is also very affordable. Also, infrastructure and management is also world class.

Dislikes

College hostel has very limited seats and PG rents are very high.
There is too much burden of assignments and written works on students.
We need to attend college all six working days from 9 to 5.

Placement Experience:

Our college has a dedicated Placement cell. They regularly conduct internship fairs for all the undergraduate students and conduct regular seminars for students to be job ready. These seminars also give us insights about preparing CVs, giving interviews and many other productive skills. The placement cell invites companies to college and give us wide range of opportunity. The highest package of 2023 was 2150000, median was 600000 and average was 658000 and all of these was just because of our Placement cell. 242 students got campus placement just after under-graduate degree and 452 students got internship in a single academic year.

Best college of South Campus

College campus, Cafeteria, The Crowd, and the location of the college

Dislikes

The placement would have been more student frienly

Placement Experience:

The sudents are eligible for the internal placements after the 5th semester. The criteria was to clear all the subjects regardless of the CGPA. Some of the companies visited are the big 4, EY, KPMG , PWC and Delloite. here were several other companies as well

Life at SVC

Likes

Campus life and learned environment and collaboration with societies .

Dislikes

Strict attendance regimes , no motivation from teachers to focus on extra curricullars.

Placement Experience:

Placements are quite good . If there is a recession phase then too companies approach out college for picking up students but certainly not everyone is able to get placements due to some or the other reasons but the placement cell tries to get more and more oppurtunities for us.

Venky ko jaano!!

Likes

The canteen: Venky has a very cool canteen for students to snack in whenever they get a break from lectures.
Societies: The way societies hone the skills of students is remarkable
Rock garden: best place to sit in with friends!!

Dislikes

Time table: The time table for lectures is very hectic, with many gaps in between

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason I chose this course was that it aligned with my future goals. The college has enough faculty members in the commerce department. They teach well. Presentations is a common way of taking lectures which makes it easy for the students to understand. The exams are held in every 4-5 months, i.e. at the end of a semester. The level of paper is moderate.

I chose this course because it was an easier course where I can also work on other commitments of mine such as I'm an entrepreneur working on my startup. this is because of the course , which is easy to manage.

Faculty members and their teaching techniques
The reputation of being a student of DU.
Fests and exposure we get not just in campus but as a student and member of various societies

Dislikes

The quality of students is a issue somehow. Because the crowd of haryana and up starts to barge in college just for no reason and disrupts every fest
Sometimes teachers are rude to students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a commerce student bcom was the best course that i could opt for in du. Faculty to student ratio is high. There are atleast 60 students in only my section of bcom program course. But at the same time the faculty members and teachers are the best and top 1% of their own fields

get to know college better

Likes

I liked the campus, it has a lot of places to sit and relax with your friends and also makes you more productive.
The faculty is great. They are very helpful and passionate about their courses. However, some lectures can get very boring.
I also like the crowd of students in the college. Everyone i have met so far are nice and great people overall.

Dislikes

I dislike the fact that there is so much pressure for attendance. Most of the kids do not enjoy the lectures due to the way of teaching but are forced to attend them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose BA English Honours because I like literature and books. The curriculum is great and the faculty is very passionate about the subject too. The faculty-to-student ratio is also great and there is hardly any mismanagement. Most of the faculty have finished their PhDs and are quite enthusiastic about their teaching methods, especially some teachers, it's a delight to be present in their lectures. Since we were the first batch to sit for the CUET exams and all the mismanagement that happened, we entered college in November 2022. By then, our seniors were already halfway through their odd semesters and we had a lot of catching up to do. Therefore, our semesters were shortened but the curriculum remained the same which became very taxing for us, especially since we were freshers. The exam itself is very similar to school-level exams and were quite easy to get used to except the very lengthy answers we had to write.

The infrastructure facilities are very good.
The sports facilities because sri venkateswara college is greatly known for its sports specially cricket
The faculty which are provided by our college is famous among whole delhi university

Dislikes

The administration of our college is somehow works very loosely
The security management is not good even if the college is good the security management of the campus still working very lightly

I am pursuing Ba political science honours and the strength of my class is 65 and we got great faculty we have 5 4 professors teaching us all the teacher got phd from JNU and they taught us well n good

Overall review about venky

Likes

I likes the faculties, they were so kind.
Lots of fest and competitions. With prizes and certificates
Need not to worry about attendance while we are in events. Attendance will be given if we attend the events

Dislikes

Library don't have books which teachers recommend
The audi lobby is small. So most of the events will be conducted outside area of audi lobby

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because it have wide oppertunity in chemistry and biology. There are lots of staffs for this course. The main thing is it's not a simple course to leave. We will get same paper which hons of botany and chemistry students writing. There are lots of research going in side. So you have research exposure too in the college. There are lots of events will go in day to day. So choosing from this choices will make difference. The semester exams happens 6 months once. And the papers are not that difficult to score. The college have a good library .

My cousin was a student of Mathematics at Sri Venkateswara College. Based on her experience in the same I will list down some key features of the college:

Faculty- The faculty of this college is without that the best. The professors of Mathematics and even other courses will make you fall in love with the subject. Just stay committed to your course.
Infrastructure- Since you will spend a few years in college, infrastructure matters a lot. Classrooms are well-designed and laboratories are well-equipped. Hostel accommodation is provided for the topper of each course. A new science block is being constructed to add to its infrastructure.
Extracurricular activities- If you are a student here, you will get enough exposure to develop your personality. Apart from academics, this college has a list of glamour studded societies in every field.
Placements- The science students get lesser opportunities as compared to others. A package of around 5-6 LPA is offered to Economic students.
Nexus- This is the most awaited cultural fest of the college. It’s a 3-day fest with a list of versatile activities. It’s the most glamorous event in the college.
Sports- The college has a lush green field with a modern cricket pitch. It also has teams in almost every game like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Chess, Athletics, Squash.
