Life in venky

Likes

I really liked the crowd over here the people are very good
The main thing about a college is it's club and Venky has very good societies and clubs
The faculty and helping staff is very good

Dislikes

The canteen is subsidized but the quality is not that good
There is sewer leakage right infront of the main gate from a very long time

Course Curriculum Overview:

Currently I am enrolled in Ba programme economics and English with economics as major and English as minor.the subject and curriculum is very well crafted and devised to give students exposure to real life problems as well as theoretical knowledge.

Placement Experience:

College has a decent placement in the fields of consulting, auditing, sales and marketing with median package around 6-8 lakh per annum and highest packege of 21 lakhs with companies like EY, Deloitte etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm a student of Bachalor of arts with Economics as major and English as a Minor, I feel the curriculum is very good of economics as it can applied in different courses and is also relatable. Area of improvement would be unnecessary additional of language subjects like Hindi and English as it takes doesn't add any value better they should add research projects for credit. End semester Exams are conducted twice a year and their difficulty level is moderate

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SRI VENKATESWARA COLLEGE(DU), New Delhi

The place where it is located is just nearby satyaniketan.. Where a lot of pg / flats are available for students....so it becomes easy for us to go to college daily and it takes hardly 5 minutes to reach the college
The mess and canteen of the college provides good pricing for the foods that are much expensive if we go to the other shop
The other good thing about my college is the amount of societies in it... We have more than 25 societies of different types ... Like singing dancing social commerce science literally everything... Also the number of events held in college is too much

Dislikes

The hostel has the seating capacity of only 75boys and 75girls...25 from each year .. So many of the students have to look for pg/ flats which is tough for a first yr student. Also the fees of hostel=9500/M is much higher compared to other govt hoste
In a place like delhi where temp reaches around 50 in summer... There are no cooling facility available other than fans... Even in science labs where sometimes we hve to switch the fans off... There are no ac...
The student wings of our college - NSUI AND ABVP ruin the mood and environment of the college.. Especially nsui where they only take jaat/gujjar and create chaos in whole college.. They take bastelball/table tennis while playing from you... Shit log

Placement Experience:

Student only get placed whn they are in 3rd year of the college.. Not before that.. Before that... U get internship.. Me being the student of 1st year... I don't know much about college placements I knew that the highest package proposed was 22lakh/ yr amd average package of the college is 6-7lakh/ yr Many student don't get placed from these types of college as the courses offered by the college require further studies and experience... Like msc Or mcom.. That's why only few of them get placed and those who get placed also don't take up the job and go for further studies as that will give them the better future My plan is to get a phd in some topic from zoology only... I will do the masters in animal studies and then go for phd

Likes

Teaching style of the teachers are awesome.
College provides best campus environment.

Dislikes

The computer lab of the college is small.
Volleyball court is not maintained in the week.

Placement Experience:

Students will be eligible for the campus placements in the 6th semester. About 40 percentage of students getting the campus placements. After getting the degree I would like to join civil services and serve the nation.

I like the campus life , the exposure , the vibrant people which come from different culture and states
The student teacher ratio is also very good at my college and every teacher is dedicated in our growth
The infrastructure is also good here not only in my college but also other colleges of du have great infrastructure

Dislikes

I didn't like the politics happening in college societies and the favor which they give to their known people
College management is also not good at fests and functions
i didn't like the delay in official works

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is designed in such a way that a student can get the all information related to the subject in the entire course. Our course is designed in a very good way that i have learnt about the aspect and richness of the subject plant sciences. Our firts yera focusses on basics of botany or lower botany in whic we have learnt about various plants , their families , their internal and external organistaion, and other thing. In our 2nd year we have mainly focussses on genetics and inheritance part. In our 3rd year we learnt about advanced plant sciense like crop improvement , biotechnolgy and tools and techniques. As far as we talk about exams and assesments, we were given assignemnets and class tests and exams. We also have hands on experience on some techniques. Overall the course is designed in its best way.

The infrastructure, the environment, teachers, Multifloor Library with a variety of books and the availability of canteen and nescafe stall also.

Dislikes

The auditorium is under construction since day one of my admission and it's still not functional which is concerning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was Locf as I'm a CBSC student which means my course was a 3 years course and it was divided in 6 semesters covering all the topics of Plant world. It included Plant metabolism, physiology, anatomy, industrial microbiology, Molecular biology, Genetics and Economic Botany, ethnobotany etc.

The Best University of Delhi South Campus college

The best thing that i liked about my collge is the support of the faculty towards the students. The faculty always stand for the students.
The nature of the college and the crowd is good along with infrastructure and facilities provided to the students.

Dislikes

The thing that i dislike is that hostel food is extremely trash and uneatable.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. As per 2022-2023 placement cell report: a) 242 total placement offers acoss courses b) 452 total internship offers were given c) Highest package was of 2150000 d) Average package was 658000 For this course the top offer companies were reliance digital, Dmart and croma for the posts of - HR executive, Market research analyst, school counsellor etc.

My cousin was a student of Mathematics at Sri Venkateswara College. Based on her experience in the same I will list down some key features of the college:

Faculty- The faculty of this college is without that the best. The professors of Mathematics and even other courses will make you fall in love with the subject. Just stay committed to your course.
Infrastructure- Since you will spend a few years in college, infrastructure matters a lot. Classrooms are well-designed and laboratories are well-equipped. Hostel accommodation is provided for the topper of each course. A new science block is being constructed to add to its infrastructure.
Extracurricular activities- If you are a student here, you will get enough exposure to develop your personality. Apart from academics, this college has a list of glamour studded societies in every field.
Placements- The science students get lesser opportunities as compared to others. A package of around 5-6 LPA is offered to Economic students.
Nexus- This is the most awaited cultural fest of the college. It’s a 3-day fest with a list of versatile activities. It’s the most glamorous event in the college.
Sports- The college has a lush green field with a modern cricket pitch. It also has teams in almost every game like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Chess, Athletics, Squash.
