Infrastructure is very modern and spacious enough sunlight and ventilation
Washrooms and overall cleanliness is top notch.
The food in canteen is quite affordable.

Dislikes

Number of class hours is sometimes 8.45 to 5 which is too much
There is sometimes break of 2 3 hours in between classes
Lack of practical exposure in coursework

Course Curriculum Overview:

Love the in-depth knowledge in the course curriculum however sometimes it becomes too much to complete in such a short time Real world applications is not valid because its all theory based Difficulty level of exams is not hard they are easy enough to ace

This is a great college, you won't regret joining

Likes

I liked the societies, the crowd, campus life, the faculty.
Social service socities, UPSC societies, a place for all students.
the infrastructure is very well for a govt college, especially for sports.

Dislikes

Nothing as such but research labs could be invested in a little more.
More field trips for practical subjects would also be helpful.
The college can also built an indoor badminton court and other infrastructure since a lot of space is idle but that definitely would require additional funding.

Placement Experience:

We have a student run placement cell in the college that takes care of on campus placements. Several companies hire interns and employees from our college and the overall picture of placements is quite promising compared to other colleges.

Likes

the experience has been really satisfactory so far it is what i expected it to be, infrastructure is one of the best in delhi university faculty here is nice as well all teachers have PhDs.
Societies are fairly active but not as renowned as north campus colleges due it being a relatively new college.
Economics Honours is the top course offered by Delhi University, It is quite in depth and rigorous which is what i expected

Dislikes

Teachers can be a bit strict sometimes and non cooperative but i guess thats with every other college in DU
Campus maintanence is decent at best, it can be a whole lot better.
Location is the biggest drawback and the lack of PG facilities sucks this is mainly the reason why South Campus colleges are not as well regarded as the north cluster

placmements season happens in the fourth-fifth semester and placements here is average at best nothing special nothing bad just mediocore big names come here such has deloitte kpmg ey de shaw and bain bcg too.

Life at Sri Venkateswara College

Likes

The faculty, especially in the Department of Commerce, is very encouraging and easily approachable. The teachers explain concepts clearly and guide them even outside the classroom; they always come forward to help the students.
the placement cell is pretty active. Students regularly get offers for internships, live projects, and placement-related queries, and the cell makes consistent efforts to provide industry exposure to the students.
The curriculum is properly structured and at a good pace. The faculties use the class time properly, including extended periods, which they use to discuss case studies or practical applications relevant to the topics, thereby adding value.

Dislikes

the infrastructure needs improvement, as the auditorium is not properly developed and the old building lacks lift facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as relatively relevant and comprehensive. I believe that all of the topics learned are highly relevant to commerce; my interest in Accountancy was one of my driving reasons to do a Bachelor of Commerce course; and also because I am already studying Chartered Accountancy. The curriculum has good practical value in real life, and this is evident in the use of case studies to help relate theory to reality. However, to enhance the course, practical components need to be added to the curriculum. Exams are usually held at the end of each semester, in the afternoons. The questions in the exam are of moderate difficulty level. Any student who regularly studies can clear the exam comfortably.

Our College

Likes

The college environment is conducive and provide ample opportunities to students.
The girls to boys ratio is quite fair and appropriate.
The professors are skilled and highly qualified.

Dislikes

Sometimes their is problem of cleanliness in the college canteen.
The way of teaching should be improved by including experiential learning.
The college infrastructure causes problem during rainy days.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible fir internships from first semester while for placements they can sit from 3 rd year. Companies that vusited college include - Delloitte, KPMG, PwC, EY, Bain Capability Network. Highest package was 21.50LPA and Average package - 5.53 LPA.

The faculty is very supportive and generally teaches well with proper mentorship.
Placement support exists but opportunities may depend on how the students are able to grab it.

Dislikes

Issues during rainy season may be inconvenient.

The academic structure is strong and updated subjects and strong career oriented electives motivated me to choose this subject. 3. Likes

The affordability and diversity among students
Opportunities and exposure provided by the college
Providing internship opportunities on a large scale

Dislikes

Teaching faculty (some teachers do not know how to teach)
Inconsiderate towards students (very few holidays are given and there is a lot of burden due to unnecessary subjects like SEC, VAC, AEC etc

The college provides limited but gradually improving internship opportunities. Students become eligible for campus placements in their 3rd and 4th year. While placements are not the primary focus of the course, the college provides basic support throufh placement cells, career guidance sessions, and internship related assistance

Placements of our college are above average if compared with other colleges offering bcom. Placements are offered in the final year. The avg package is a little over 6 lpa and the highest goes for between 13-21 lpa depending upon the year

Likes

The timetable of the college is very effective and classes gets cancelled very rarely.
Canteen is the best thing i like in the college , it offers varoius food items at a very cheap price and very hygienic.

Dislikes

Classrooms are still old fashioned, it needs to be improved to smart classes .
Most of the faculty is from south and southwestern region which makes their accent difficult to underst.
Attendance is also very strict which makes it difficult to focus on extracurricular activities.

From 5th sem a student gets eligible to get placed . Various companies like ey , delloite , kpmg , bain , goldman sachs come to our college . The avearge package is 600000 and the highest is 1400000 . Last year a total of 143 students got placed from our college . My plan after getting degree is to get a good placement .

I like the diversity of students in my college, people from different places have come to the college who bring different values and culture
The environment in the college is very good seniors are very helpful to us and make us feel comfortable
The faculty and admin staff is very understanding and have helped me quite a few times

Dislikes

I'm not a fan of reservations in the college since I believe it is not fair to others

Placement Experience:

I believe the placement cell of my college is very active and good at its job. The student are eligible for placement from the third year many companies have come to our college for placements and many have been placed with great packages

My cousin was a student of Mathematics at Sri Venkateswara College. Based on her experience in the same I will list down some key features of the college:

Faculty- The faculty of this college is without that the best. The professors of Mathematics and even other courses will make you fall in love with the subject. Just stay committed to your course.
Infrastructure- Since you will spend a few years in college, infrastructure matters a lot. Classrooms are well-designed and laboratories are well-equipped. Hostel accommodation is provided for the topper of each course. A new science block is being constructed to add to its infrastructure.
Extracurricular activities- If you are a student here, you will get enough exposure to develop your personality. Apart from academics, this college has a list of glamour studded societies in every field.
Placements- The science students get lesser opportunities as compared to others. A package of around 5-6 LPA is offered to Economic students.
Nexus- This is the most awaited cultural fest of the college. It’s a 3-day fest with a list of versatile activities. It’s the most glamorous event in the college.
Sports- The college has a lush green field with a modern cricket pitch. It also has teams in almost every game like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Chess, Athletics, Squash.
